Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

Arwa was still staring at the book in confusion.

A moment ago, she had read something completely different.

But when she opened the book again, the text had changed.

The words she had just read earlier were no longer there.

Her eyebrows furrowed as she read the new lines carefully.

"This… wasn't written here before," she whispered.

Now the book was describing the Duke's daughter in a completely different way.

According to this version, the Duke's daughter was not the only child.

She had a stepmother and a stepbrother, who was supposed to become the next head of the family.

Arwa's eyes widened.

"That's exactly like my life…" she murmured.

She quickly continued reading.

The next line shocked her even more.

Earlier, the book had said that the Duke's daughter was engaged to the future king.

But now the words had changed.

It now said that she was the fiancée of the Crown Prince, the heir to the throne.

Arwa's heart started beating faster.

"How can the book change like this?"

But the most shocking part came next.

Before, the book had written that the Duke's daughter had great magical potential but refused to use black magic.

Now the text said something completely different.

It said that the Duke's daughter could not use magic at all.

She didn't refuse to use it.

She simply didn't have magic inside her.

Arwa slowly lowered the book, her mind spinning with confusion.

"That's impossible…"

The two versions of the story were completely opposite.

One said the Duke's daughter had powerful magic but chose not to use it.

The other said she never had magic in the first place.

Arwa stared at the book again, feeling a strange uneasiness.

"Which one is the real story…?"

For a moment, she felt as if the book itself was changing the truth.

And that realization made the mystery around her life even deeper.

Arwa kept staring at the book, her mind filled with confusion.

The words she had just read kept repeating in her head.

The story changed… the past changed… even the future changed.

She slowly closed the book and whispered to herself,

"Is the future… changing?"

Her thoughts became heavier.

"If the future is really changing… does that mean someone is altering it?"

She looked down at her hands for a moment.

"But how can I solve this mystery?" she murmured.

"I'm here… in this world."

Her eyes slowly widened as a realization struck her.

"The only person who can change the future… is the one living in my body right now."

Her heart began beating faster.

For a few seconds, the library was completely silent.

Then she whispered a single name.

"…Arwa."

The name echoed softly in the quiet library, as if she had finally realized who the other person truly was.

And for the first time, Arwa understood that the girl living in the other timeline might be the key to everything.

The scene slowly shifted to Heidi's timeline.

She was sitting quietly in the palace library, surrounded by tall shelves filled with ancient books.

While searching through the shelves, one particular book caught her attention.

She gently pulled it out.

Her eyes moved to the title written on the cover.

"How to Unseal Your Magic Barrier."

Heidi blinked in surprise.

"Magic… barrier?" she murmured softly.

A confused expression appeared on her face.

She held the book in her hands, curiosity slowly growing inside her.

"Why would someone need to unseal a magic barrier?" she wondered.

She was about to sit down and start reading the book.

But just then, the library door opened.

A maid walked in and bowed politely.

"Young lady," the maid said respectfully, "Lord Frederick has come to see you."

Heidi froze for a moment.

Her thoughts immediately changed.

Lord Frederick…

In her mind she murmured,

"The Crown Prince came this early?"

She sighed softly and closed the book.

"Well… it's fine," she said quietly to herself.

"I can read this book later."

Then she turned toward the maid and said calmly,

"Tell him I'll be there in a moment."

The maid nodded and left the library.

Heidi placed the mysterious book back on the table, but before leaving she glanced at it one more time.

Somehow, the title of the book made her feel uneasy.

As if it was hiding an important secret about her.

Heidi walked through the long palace corridor to meet Frederick William.

As she walked, her mind was full of questions.

Wait… if I remember correctly, she thought.

The book said that in this timeline the king had no son or daughter.

Her steps slowed slightly.

Then where did the Crown Prince come from?

The more she thought about it, the more confused she became.

What exactly is going on here…?

Nothing seemed to make sense anymore.

The book, the legend, the strange changes in the story—everything felt like a puzzle she could not solve.

Just then, she reached the royal hall.

Standing there was Frederick William.

The moment Heidi saw him, another thought suddenly flashed in her mind.

Wait… Frederick was supposed to be the king's name, wasn't it?

Her eyes widened slightly.

Then why is the king himself here to meet me?

She quickly tried to calm herself.

Alright, Heidi… calm down.

She took a slow breath.

There's no point thinking too much.

I'll understand everything after talking to him.

With that thought, she straightened her posture and slowly walked forward to meet him.

Heidi took a deep breath and stepped forward.

When she reached in front of Frederick William, she politely lowered her head and gave a respectful bow.

"Your Majesty," she said calmly.

"It is an honor to see you."

King Frederick looked at her quietly for a moment, studying her expression as if he was trying to read her thoughts.

Then a faint smile appeared on his face.

"You've grown even more graceful, Lady Heidi," he said in a gentle voice.

Heidi straightened up slowly, still trying to remain calm.

But inside, her mind was full of questions.

Why is the king himself here to meet me? she wondered.

King Frederick noticed her slightly confused expression.

"Are you surprised to see me?" he asked with a soft chuckle.

Heidi hesitated for a moment before replying.

"A little, Your Majesty," she admitted politely.

"I was told that Lord Frederick had come to see me."

For a brief moment, the king's expression changed slightly, as if he had realized something amusing.

"Ah… I see," he said.

Then he looked at her with a mysterious smile.

Heidi looked at him, but inside her mind a storm of thoughts had already begun.

But the story said something different, she thought.

According to the story, the Duke's daughter was supposed to marry the king…

But in this timeline, Heidi is supposed to marry the Crown Prince.

Her heart started beating faster.

Wait a minute… if that happens, the entire story will change.

And that shouldn't be possible.

Her fingers tightened slightly.

Is there anything I can do to stop it?

But… what can I even do?

For a moment she stayed silent, trying to control her thoughts.

Then she finally spoke.

"Your Majesty…" she said carefully.

King Frederick William looked at her with curiosity.

Heidi took a slow breath and continued,

"If it is necessary for the stability of the kingdom…"

"…then you may marry me instead."

The words left her mouth quietly but firmly.

For a moment, the entire room fell silent.

Even the king seemed slightly surprised by her sudden proposal.

He studied her face carefully, as if trying to understand what she was truly thinking.
