Chapter 284: Genuine Star-Busting
"The Ki I've accumulated right now is too little to even form a Kamehameha, let alone release one. Can't even put together a basic ki blast. There's more practice ahead, and I should probably test whether Points can increase Ki reserves."
He ran the numbers. His balance was 19,000 from before, plus roughly 470 from sign-ins over the week. 470 was enough to experiment with.
He didn't deliberate. 470 Points wasn't worth overthinking.
The effect was immediate and perceptible. With his Ki sense now clear and stable, he could feel his internal Ki actually increase — a modest amount, but unmistakable. Relative to the vast "container" his constitution represented, those few additional drops barely registered. Less than one percent of capacity.
But the mechanism was confirmed. Points could directly supplement Ki volume. With enough Points and enough cultivation time running in parallel, the combination could produce serious results faster than either approach alone.
He extended his right hand, fingers curved into the familiar ball-holding shape, and tried to channel Ki into a blast. Nothing came together — he hadn't spent Points on the Kamehameha, so he didn't know how to form one yet. That would take practice.
He looked at the options. The Kamehameha's costs: 2,000 to Beginner, 7,000 to Mastery, 14,000 to Perfection. The Mastery and Perfection tiers were steep.
He looked at the alternative. The Thunderclap Fist — converting Ki into concentrated electrical force, capable of stopping a heart or carbonizing a body at full power. Beginner at 1,500, Mastery at 5,000, Perfection at 10,000. Cheaper across all tiers, and in his estimation the destructive output per unit of Ki expended wasn't meaningfully lower than the Kamehameha's.
The cheaper cost probably reflected a lower ceiling or less adaptability at extreme ranges. But as an entry point, it made more sense.
He spent 1,500 on Thunderclap Fist to Beginner. Then 2,000 on the Kamehameha to Beginner. Balance: 15,500.
He opened his hand and drew on his Ki.
A current sparked across his palm — nimble arcs of electricity jumping between his fingers. Then he shifted the approach. The electricity faded. In its place, a sphere of deep blue energy — compressed Ki in its raw form — floated quietly above his palm.
About the size of a ping-pong ball.
And the pressure coming off it was extraordinary. He could feel, without needing to test it, that if this made contact with anything on this street, the entire street would cease to exist.
He dispersed it.
Alright. Dragon Ball entry point established. Combined with Armament Haki, Observation Haki, and Life Return, this is a meaningful jump in overall capability.
If the body's vast "container" were ever actually filled with Ki to capacity — full power Kamehameha, sustained charge — he was genuinely confident the Moon would be destroyed. And if it hit the Earth instead, the planet might survive, but human civilization on its surface would not. Whatever Doflamingo could withstand, a fully charged Kamehameha at that capacity would give him a ninety-percent-plus chance of being vaporized.
He noticed he was, again, using One Piece characters as reference benchmarks.
Coincidence. Purely coincidental. I'm not doing it on purpose.
Less than nineteen days remained before the one-year mark of joining the Chat Group. Not quite a year, and he'd reached genuine star-busting capability.
He started to feel pleased about this, then remembered that Wandering Earth had arrived at that level on day one — except it was planet-busting rather than star-busting — and the satisfaction deflated somewhat.
He wasn't going to compare himself to freaks of nature. It was unproductive.
What he could note: the gap between him and Yukari was now genuinely narrow in raw destructive output. He might have the edge in that specific category at this point. The problem was that Yukari had accumulated a staggering array of miscellaneous abilities across her years of existence. In an actual fight, the diverse toolkit was probably enough to give her an edge despite the raw power comparison.
He stepped into the Chat Group, ready to be appropriately smug.
Then he saw something that stopped him.
Wandering Little Planet: Ahaha! I caught a small flicker! Roshi-ojisan said that a flicker is a ninety-percent indicator of eventual full Ki sense!
Wandering Little Planet: I asked him about my timeline and he thinks I'll reach genuine Ki sense within one to two months!
Kaguya-sama: Envy causes osmotic crisis. A full week and I felt absolutely nothing. I've completely given up — going back to quietly building out my One Piece system, not thinking about anything else.
Crazy Diamond: Same situation, zero result, crying. I'll just keep working on whether my Stand can develop Armament Haki instead.
Terrible Tornado: Can a Stand develop Armament Haki? Pfft, isn't that a bit much?
Terrible Tornado: Didn't you say your Stand is like a manifestation of your soul? Can a soul learn Armament Haki?
Crazy Diamond: …Unclear. But I have nothing better to do — worth trying.
Eternally Seventeen: Hmph! Wandering Earth, keep working — but you won't catch up to me. I've found a direction. One more week, that's all I need.
RawrSoFierce: Wandering Earth can actually sense Ki. A Kamehameha from something the size of a planet — I'm pretty sure that would blow up the Sun.
RawrSoFierce: Absolutely terrifying. Wandering Earth is amazing!!
Kaguya-sama: If even Admin-sama is saying Wandering Earth is amazing, then Wandering Earth is genuinely amazing.
Eternally Seventeen: Hmm? Admin-sama? @RawrSoFierce — Admin-sama, have you grasped Ki sense? Does the cute youkai sage need to offer you some guidance?
RawrSoFierce: What? I can already use the Kamehameha and Thunderclap Fist. Are you sure you're in a position to guide me?
Eternally Seventeen: ∑(°Д°) WHAT?! How are you this fast?!
My True Form Is Cola: "Admin-sama is fast"… hss, I think I heard something I shouldn't have.
RawrSoFierce: Hmph! I've trained Life Return — that specific category of "fast" doesn't apply!
RawrSoFierce: Little Umaru, I didn't expect you of all people to go down this road. The youkai sage has clearly been a corrupting influence.
Street-Corner Illustrator: Maybe Umaru-chan is hitting the hormonal stage of development.
My True Form Is Cola: No! Absolutely not! That's not it at all!!
