Chapter 6: The Alpha's Fury

Back at the Black Ridge Pack house, the atmosphere was suffocating. Alpha Malakai stood by the floor-to-ceiling window of his office, staring at the blood-red moon with a growing sense of unease. The fated bond he had shattered days ago was still haunting him—not with grief, but with a strange, phantom heat that refused to die.

The heavy oak doors burst open, and three of his best trackers staggered in. They were a mess of broken bones and shredded fur. Kael, the lead enforcer, collapsed at Malakai's feet, his breathing ragged.

"What is the meaning of this?" Malakai roared, his Alpha aura filling the room like a crushing weight. "I sent you to finish a simple Omega. Why do you return looking like prey?"

"She... she isn't an Omega anymore, Alpha," Kael wheezed, coughing up a mixture of blood and a strange silver liquid. "She shifted. But it wasn't a normal wolf. It was... silver. She was faster than anything I've ever seen. And she wasn't alone."

Malakai's eyes narrowed into slits of gold. "Alone? Who was with her?"

"A monster," another tracker whimpered from the doorway. "A man with eyes like lightning. He called himself a Lycan."

The silence that followed was deathly. Malakai's heart skipped a beat. Lycans were myths, ghosts of a past his ancestors had buried. If one was alive—and protecting Elara—his throne was in grave danger.

"She sent a message," Kael continued, his voice trembling. "She said the Omega you rejected is dead. She said... the Queen has arrived. And she is coming for your throne."

With a snarl of pure rage, Malakai smashed his mahogany desk, splintering it into a thousand pieces. The thought of Elara—the weak, 'broken' girl he had thrown into the mud—challenging him was an insult he couldn't stomach. But deeper than the rage was a flicker of something he didn't want to admit: regret.

"Gather the elite warriors," Malakai commanded, his voice trembling with a lethal edge. "If she has found a Lycan, we will burn the Forbidden Grotto to the ground. I want her head brought to me before the moon sets. No one challenges a King and lives to tell the tale."

Meanwhile, miles away in the hidden cavern, Elara stood by the edge of the waterfall. She felt the shift in the air. She knew Malakai was coming. But she wasn't the scared girl anymore. Behind her, Fenris stood like a mountain of shadows.

"He is coming," Elara whispered, her silver eyes glowing in the dark.

"Good," Fenris replied, handing her a dagger forged from ancient silver. "Let him come. A King only learns his lesson when he sees his kingdom in flames."
