"I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner!" Charlie laughed in surprise.

"What is it?" Hector asked from behind him. "Why are you suddenly muttering to yourself?"

"Solar panels. Do you know what those are?" Charlie turned to look at Hector.

"No idea," Hector said, shaking his head.

Charlie paused, then quickly ran through what he remembered from his previous life.

The rooftop program had started in Germany first, aiming to bring photovoltaic technology into ordinary homes. Japan and the United States had followed later. Germany had called theirs the Ten Million Roofs Program, while America and Japan went with the Million Roofs Program.

As for Britain… well, he didn't know. That kind of thing had only ever come up in casual dinner-table talk. There was no way he would've known the full details.

"It's basically a technology that turns sunlight into electricity," he said. "Let me think… I've been designing this thing like some kind of funnel-shaped device the whole time—"

He fell silent, lost in thought, the quill spinning slowly between his fingers.

About fifteen minutes later he pulled out a fresh sheet of parchment and started sketching a completely new design.

Professor Chambers had given him two days off, and Charlie poured every bit of that time into the project. No classes, no work—just pure focus. By the morning of the third day he had finished the first complete draft of the automatic Moon Dew collector.

On the third day, at lunch in the Great Hall, Hector watched Charlie devour his food with dark circles under his eyes but a bright, energized look on his face. He shook his head at Anthony.

"Look at him. This is the same guy who said two mornings ago that his body was falling apart and he needed to start exercising."

"Yeah," Anthony said. "Bet he already had a whole plan worked out—wake up an hour early every day, go for a run, turn himself into some perfectly disciplined, elite version of himself."

Charlie laughed and set his fork down. "How do you know that? Don't tell me you fantasize about the same thing all the time."

Anthony's face went red. He shook his head fast, denying it.

Hector was more straightforward. "I do it every summer. I even give it a name—the Holiday Transformation Plan."

He kept going. "But I'm not doing that this summer."

"You grew up?" Anthony asked.

"No. This summer I'm probably going to fantasize about studying magic properly during the break and then blowing everyone away when term starts."

From the Ravenclaw table behind them, Ron nearly choked on a bite of pudding and had to cough several times.

Anthony turned around with a grin. "What's wrong, Ron? You do the same thing?"

Ron shook his head just as fast as Anthony had a moment earlier. "What? No way. I never do stupid stuff like that."

Charlie gave him a deeply skeptical look.

Honestly, out of the three of them, Ron was probably the most likely to actually do something like that. Hermione was a doer. As for Harry… once he went back to that so-called "home," learning magic would be the last thing on his mind. He'd be too busy just trying to live like a normal kid.

After lunch Charlie said goodbye to the others and headed for Professor Chambers' office to start his assistant work for the day.

The job had already taught him a lot. The biggest proof of that was how much easier it had been to design the automatic Moon Dew collector over the last two days.

The wonderful Easter holiday was over. Most students couldn't stop complaining about it.

But they didn't have long to mourn its passing. Review season was coming—the one time of year every student knew all too well.

Why say "every student who's actually been to school"? Because plenty of young wizards in this world had no idea what that even meant.

A wave of completely unprepared students suddenly found themselves staring at mountains of extra homework with miserable faces.

Charlie wasn't doing much better. First of all, there was the Spring Thunder.

This time, after absorbing it, he didn't feel any physical changes at all.

He had started with just one drop—very cautious. Blood Moon essence made him irritable, Thunder essence could cause explosions inside his body, and Autumn Wind made people listless and depressed. They all had downsides. Charlie never dared take too much.

But after swallowing that single drop of Spring Thunder, all he felt was a tingling, almost numbing sensation that started in his lower abdomen and slowly spread through his whole body.

The tingling lasted about five minutes.

After that, nothing else happened.

Still not satisfied, Charlie gradually increased the dose. The largest amount he tried was a full teaspoon of pure Spring Thunder essence—roughly six or seven drops.

Even that only made the tingling stronger and extended it from five minutes to twenty. Other than that, he felt no benefits at all.

Instead, the side effect showed up.

He got hungry.

Extremely hungry, and fast. Every time he absorbed a large amount of Spring Thunder, once the tingling faded, a powerful wave of hunger hit him—like a huge energy gap had suddenly opened inside his body.

It was strange. Usually natural essences entered his body and became some kind of benefit. Spring Thunder, on the other hand, seemed to create an energy deficit.

Because of that, he had no choice but to pause his research on Spring Thunder for now.

The essence itself wouldn't disappear if he left it alone. But something else had become far more urgent.

The strawberries were ripe.

Two days later than expected.

The delay wasn't because anything was wrong with the plants. On the contrary, under Fiona's care they had grown too well. Each strawberry was the size of a baseball and had absorbed so many extra nutrients that ripening took longer.

At noon on Tuesday, the rich, sweet smell of ripe strawberries filled the entire dormitory.

Anthony and Hector each picked one and tasted it carefully. The sweet aroma exploded in their mouths and shot straight to the top of their heads, leaving them wanting more.

When Anthony finished his first one, he looked at Charlie a little sheepishly, then glanced at the pot on the windowsill.

"Go ahead," Charlie said. He split one of the huge strawberries in half, popped one piece into his mouth and set the other in front of Alice.

"Don't worry about me. Strawberry season is long—they'll keep producing. And even if I use them to make strawberry chocolate, with this yield I'm definitely not selling any. We'll just keep them for ourselves."

Anthony grinned. "Then I'll have another one. The rest can wait until you turn them into chocolate. That's going to be even better."

Charlie nodded, his eyes still on the pot of strawberries.

The best move right now was to take one strawberry and run it through a "perfect extraction" using a fragment of the Philosopher's Stone.

From everything he'd learned lately, one strawberry should yield some kind of concentrated essence. Measuring that essence would quickly show him what made these strawberries special.

It might also help him test the properties of Sun Dew and Moon Dew together.

With that thought, he stood up, picked one of the strawberries, said goodbye to Anthony and Hector, and walked out of the dormitory.
