Ravi and Arjun were enemies for as long as anyone in their village could remember. They had studied in the same school, played on the same playground, and lived on the same street, but instead of friendship, there was always anger between them.
Their rivalry began with a small misunderstanding during a cricket match in school. Ravi believed that Arjun had cheated to win the game. Arjun, on the other hand, thought Ravi was accusing him without reason. The argument turned into a fight, and from that day onward, they refused to speak to each other.
Years passed, but their hatred only grew stronger. Whenever they saw each other in the market or on the road, they would look away or pass harsh comments.
The villagers often tried to convince them to forget the past, but neither of them was ready to forgive.
One evening, during the rainy season, Ravi was returning home from work on his bicycle.
The road was slippery, and the rain was falling heavily. Suddenly, his bicycle slipped, and he fell into a small ditch beside the road. Ravi hurt his leg badly and could not stand up.
The road was almost empty because of the rain. Ravi tried to shout for help, but no one was nearby.
After some time, a motorcycle stopped near him. Ravi looked up with surprise. It was Arjun.
For a moment, both of them looked at each other in silence. Ravi felt embarrassed and thought Arjun would ignore him because of their long-standing enmity.
But Arjun quickly parked his motorcycle and ran toward him.
"What happened? Are you hurt?" Arjun asked with concern.
Ravi nodded slowly. "I think my leg is injured. I can't stand."
Without thinking twice, Arjun helped Ravi get up and supported him. He placed Ravi on his motorcycle and took him to the nearest hospital.
The doctor treated Ravi's injury and said he would recover soon. Ravi looked at Arjun with gratitude in his eyes.
"Thank you," Ravi said quietly. "Even after all the fights, you still helped me."
Arjun smiled slightly. "We were enemies because of a small misunderstanding. But in the end, we are still human.
Helping someone in need is more important than holding on to old anger."
Ravi realized how foolish their rivalry had been. All those years of hatred had started from a simple argument that could have been solved easily.
From that day on, Ravi and Arjun decided to forget the past. Slowly, their enmity turned into friendship. The villagers were happy to see them talking and laughing together.
They both learned an important lesson: sometimes the person we consider our enemy can become our greatest friend, if we choose kindness over anger.
Moral: Forgiveness and kindness are stronger than hatred.
