Days passed and Kabel was left throughly entertained despite the lack of it in his room. So entertained that he forgot too sustain himself in anyway expect sleep. With each hour he felt himself getting stronger and understanding more about himself and his capabilities evolving.
Rolph came through the wall and loudly shouted out "It's time! Let's get this train moving! Now there was a slight hitch but it should be fine, I had to make you replace the spot of a new commonor mage, the name and everything is changed to yours so you just have to pretend like you don't know anything which should be easy for you"
Kabel snapped out his focus and was determined to go out into the world right after he ate some food and took care of his toiletries. "Um Master how come I only needed it just now?" Kabels voice came out from the closed bathroom door. "Mortals need food and water too make into suitable energy meanwhile us mages have a perfect source of energy running through us the better control and quality of your mana the less you'll need to eat and drink and by extension piss and shit, but sleep though you might not technically need it, it's quite hard to find something that rests your mind as well as it"
Kabel got out of the toilet awkwardly and Rolph threw him what looked like a purple and bruised banana and a glass cup filled with a purple liquid. "They'll boost your physical levels by a decent amount temporarily and a little bit permanently you're gonna need it since you're mostly competing with people who have been in the world of mages for years and practically lived on stuff like this" He ate both of them quickly and as they were digested he expected somthing simmlar to that orb he had ate years ago.
To his disappointment it mearly cuased a painful tingling all over followed by a priod of refreshment. Kabel stretched and got ready too head out the door. "Good, let's go you out and running" Rolph opend up large hole that fit two people comfortably. Kabel knew the drill by now and went and stood side by side.
The walls closed up and the floor beneath him opened him dropping him down into an identical space before the walls infront of him opened up. "I'm taking you too get properly registered with the being we're currently inside right now" Kabel was momentarily confused until the walls opened up and revealed a bustling hall full of people.
Mages that he considered a rare and magical breed formed a croud that was hard too walk through. Rolph walked comfortably and confidently into the crowd as despite the cramped space everyone made way for him. The mages all were peculiar and dressed in colourful clothes and many had or were inhuman, a man with an arm three time bigger then him with red muscles that bluged out of his skin looked at Rolph with respect and Kabel with curiosity which seemed to eb a growing trend as more and more mages seemd to glance.
Across all of the mages the only thing they shared was that curious look at Kabel and a look of respect and fear at Rolph. The duo reached the end of the hall, where a large desk taller than a man was embedded into the ground. The huge being that manned the desk resembled a androgynous human hanging upside down from the ceiling, it's legs merged into the wood just below it's hips but not far down enough to make you question how it reproduced. It had multiple heads all manning a diffrent part of the desk with their own tills. All the tills had people lined up but each person only took a second to get through making the line move quote fast.
Rolph sauntered into the very middle line and simmlar too him, each mage here also had a clearly younger and less experienced person trailing behind them. Rolph waited patiently behind the other duos, much to their discomfort. Kabel could tell that he had a very high ranking and was infamous amount mages.
In a society that followed survival of the fittest so much, him waiting patiently behind other weaker and less well known mages was considered more than usual. In fact Kabel had counted three mages that had already pushed in the other lines next too them and not a complaint was made.
When a mage and his apprentice were done talking to the strange being, the floor opened up and took them somewhere else. Kabel tried to hear what they said but strangely despite being in earshot he couldn't make out their words. "Don't bother, this entire hall scrambles your words listen closer to all the ruckus you're hearing" Kabel did as he was told and found that despite it sounding like a messy hall full of chatter and bustle he couldn't make out a single part of the whole.
Soon Kabel noticed a shadow being cast on him as he felt a strong and intimidating presence behind him. Kabel's instincts made him turn around and found that Rolph had already long done so.
The person that stood there was easily over 7ft tall with muscles the size of Kabels head. He had four arms and pale blue skin with bright red hair that traveled from his scalp to his shoulders. The even stranger part was that his bright red hair seemd to go into his shoulders and nape, embedded into them loosely.
Luckily for the gaint his hairstyle left his face open and unobstructed by his hair which some people say is a more of a negative as even his natural resting face exudes sterness and strength. Even without the ferocious mana Kabel could sense flowing under the surface like a dormant volcano, his appearance by itself would have scared anyone else off.
"You're always so flamboyant Jer Jer, showing off infront of your new apprentice?" Kabel was surprised not just by Rolphs casual tone but also the fact that he had missed another person standing next too him. It was a person of the same species but a girl this time. Her skin and hair were much more human than the mans and she was clearly much younger also. She was just below 6ft and had a very simmlar vibe to the man next too her but not fully. With them standing next too each other it's clear who she was imitating and next too the man she just seemd like a cheap knock-off in comparison.
"I'll rip you scalp to ass" His mana flared as it seemed to be ready to burst out the seems. His bloodlust seemd to carry a life and power of its own as all mages nearby stopped talking as the scramble enchantment only worked on normal conversation and didn't handle anything mana realted which lead them too ready their own mana in an attempt to quickly escape. Of course Kabel didn't notice that, as all of the other mages there including Rolph suppressed their mana and always wore cloaking devices to suppress it even futher. However the voilent mage infront of him only wore loose fitting trousers leaving his upper body exposed along with his mana.
Rolph turned too the girl next too the man with surprise and then with a fake voice of concern he said "Jer Jer I'm surprised you can still pump out kids, I'd thought you'd gone limp years ago! Man give whichever wife did it this time my congratulations!" Rolph went in for a hug but was stopped as one of the mans arms reached out and quickly gripped Rolphs head. "It's Jerious and what the hell are you doing here you scum?"
"Me? Why I'm here too register my new apprentice!" Rolph said casually and with a smile, staring at Jerious through the gaps in his fingers. His gaze turned from Rolph to Kabel. "He's not been recognised by the city yet?" Rolph seemed to know what the man was planning and only said in a slightly more serious tone "not yet" Jerious smiled and suddenly unleashed a massive amount of mana infused bloodlust. Kabel felt it quickly entering his body and a searing sensation arose from his markings.
"With my authority I am conducting a test for citizenship of Alahara, you may not give up, failure will lead to death" Rolph simply stood there and smiled while many of the weaker mages quickly stepped far back with various means. "His bloodlust and mana they're not just combined or working together they're the same thing! He turned his bloodlust into his mana!" Kabel manged to barely eke out the realisation as his knees buckled and the mans potent mana started to very slowly enter his body through his markings.
When the mana entered his body, he felt how wrong it was like having someone else's limb attached to you. He quickly mustered up his mana and too his shock Jerious mana quickly changed and morphed to match his own. Rolph thought quietly with a smirk from the sidelines. The mana didn't change much in potency or size but it only took a second of kabel using his mana to make it indistinguishable from his own. All of a sudden kabel felt stronger than ever before as more mana flowed through his marking than ever before.
Jerious oblivious to this fact kept passively injecting it. Soon Kabels heaven's marking began to glow brighter and brighter soon it was obvious even through his clothes than his markings covered all of his limbs. Some mages looked in admiration but most in shame and jealousy while the powerful in the crowd looked very curious. Your markings determines not just your inital mana capacity but often more than not your talent as a mage in the future.
Rolph said to the Jerious "Now the standard time is only 30 seconds if you're gonna try and break him you've got only 10 left" Rolphs words briefly snapped Kabel out of his ecstasy and found that the horrible pain he was experiencing didn't go away. He looked at the skin on his hands and saw it slowly turing black and peeling away. "Dammit my markings can handle the mana but my body can't! It's burning me away!"
As soon as Kabel finished the thought Jerious decided to direct even more mana at him. His hair burned away first then his eyelids and then the skin on the rest of his body. In the meantime in his heavens markings the overwhelming amount of mana in his markings forced not only his capacity to be even futher expanded but the excess spilled into his body and followed Kabels primal directive to survive.
The mana reshaped his body to handle the pressure of a being so much stronger than him, changing it in ways Kabel had no understanding off. Rolph smiled and quickly and discretely realised one of his captured blood beasts right above Kabel. All of the powerful mages already had been paying attention on the situation in the room but only half heartedly. When a blood beast appeared it ecplised Kabel cuasing him to be totally unnoticed to anyone not directly in the room. They all sent their mana at the creature to destroy it, while Rolph did somthing simmlar sending almost all of his mana at Kabel. The shock from the unexpected events and the sudden display of strength also cuased Jerious to release more mana than intended.
All of this cuased a massive convergence of incredibly potent mana that quickly incinerated the blood beast and all went torwards kabel. His entire body was eviscerated and the only thing left behind was his markings floating in the air as if they didn't know what happend either. Somewhere unknown the god of change saw the ripple and decided to lend a hand. The markings used the incredible amount of mana to quickly rebuild Kabels body almost as fast as it was destroyed. Too Rolphs shock Kabels markings used every bit of his mana and even more sucking in the highly charged mana in the surroding air also. In the end a naked Kabel was left laying there as everyone else around them was left in utter shock.
Jerious had no sign of his stern nature as he looked at Rolph "What monster have you been keeping stashed away all these years?"
