Chapter 10 - Pickup Fight(2)

In parking lot.

A black luxurious TTR-55 car stops in front of Ryan.

'fuck, this car Total cost 2.5 million.' he thought.

The driver came out of the car and opened the door of the car.

Ryan was about to answer when his eyes suddenly landed on a familiar figure.

Lucas Reed.

The protagonist was walking away from the university.

A few seconds later—

Another familiar figure appeared behind the Lucas. He took out the phone from his pocket and dialled a number.

Ring!

"He has left from here; proceed exactly as planned."

The other side of the phone.

"Okay boss."

Ryan narrowed his eyes while looking at him from far.

He felt something was wrong.

In the original novel, Lucas was framed by Adrian every time and his family always sided with Adrian 'adopted son' not Lucas 'their biological son'.

Ryan's instincts immediately became alert.

"Wait."

After Orientation ended, they both arrive at the University parking place but they don't find the car parked there. Adrian makes a call to the driver and finds out that the car is currently at the garage because a pipe of fuel leakage will take some time for repairs.

And Adrian was also going to do some work with his friends. He left Lucas alone.

Ryan moved forward the direction/path Lucas was walking on leads neither to the main road nor toward the open area. This only led to a close alley, a good place to fight.

In the original novel, in the starting of the story this was the first move that was made by Adrian against Lucas.

The driver blinked when he saw Ryan walk away.

"Young Master?"

"If anyone asks about me, tell them I'll be back after a short break."

Without waiting for a reply, Ryan quickly followed him towards the alley to save him.

After a few minutes Ryan reached the alley.

Just as he expected there was trouble.

Five university students surrounded Lucas while Adrian calmly stood nearby.

"Their dress is different, it does not look like our university's dress at all, it seems like it is from some other university.'' He whispered.

The atmosphere was tense around them.

One student cracked his knuckles.

Another sneered.

"We just want to teach you your place."

Lucas stood calmly in the center and ready to fight with them 1 vs 5.

There wasn't even a hint of fear in his eyes.

Ryan almost laughed.

'These idiots really picked the wrong target this time.'

From what Ryan remembered, Lucas had spent years growing up in rough neighborhoods.

The protagonist wasn't some helpless rich kid he knows who deals with these types of people. We both are the wild child 'orphans'.

In my past life, I lived in an orphanage, and the person in charge of the orphanage taught us how to live in this world.

Then Ryan walked towards it with excitement.

Fighting was one of them.

Ryan casually placed both hands in his pockets.

"What a coincidence to meet a classmate here in this remote place."

The leader of the student frowned and asked.

"Who are you?"

Ryan smiled and replied to him.

"Just a random freshman who is just getting familiar with surrounding areas."

One of the students sneered.

"Then mind your own business."

Ryan glanced at the university badges on their uniforms.

Then at the security camera mounted above the nearby building.

Then back at them.

"I wonder what Westbridge administration would think if they received a video of senior students of another University surrounding freshmen students of Westbridge International University in an alley."

The expressions of five of them immediately changed.

Westbridge took its reputation seriously.

Very seriously.

A disciplinary investigation would become a permanent stain on their records.

But the leader of the group managed his calmness and said in a confident tone.

"You think there is a camera in the remote alley."

Ryan smiled. 'He knew that the camera was broken. So they planned for a long time for this particular day to target Lucas.' he thought.

He replied with a calm and deep cold voice.

"You're right, there's no camera, that's why I recorded the whole conversation or we can say threatening video on my phone."

The expressions of 5 of them students immediately changed.

Ryan continued calmly.

"Now."

"You can either leave."

"Or we can all visit the administration office together."

Everyone became silent and the atmosphere suddenly became awkward.

The students exchanged uncertain glances at each other clearly, none of them expected there would be a witness.

Especially one calm enough to threaten them using university regulations instead of fists.

Finally, the largest student clicked his tongue.

"Tch."

"Let's go."

One by one, they left the alley.

After they all disappeared from there silence returned between them.

Lucas looked at Ryan.

"Why did you help me?"

Ryan shrugged.

"Because five against one looked unfair."

Lucas stared at him for a few seconds.

Then he gave a genuine smile to him.

"Thanks."

Ryan smiled back.

"No problem."

Inside his mind, however, Ryan was thinking about something else.

The story was going to change in future because of my interference like today's plots.

Adrian was supposed to move today as warning to Lucas that only one Young Master of Reed family is him.

And Ryan himself definitely wasn't supposed to be involved.

Yet somehow—

The side character had once again stepped directly into the protagonist's storyline.

And for the first time since his rebirth...

Ryan felt excited about what would happen next in this story.

He smiled and looked at the sun set.

"Intresting."

Both of them come out of the alley. And main road old man(driver of ) was standing in front of car(TTR-55)

"Why not come with me. I will drop you at your house." He asked Lucas.

Lucas thought about it then he nodded slowly.

"This is your new friend from University, Young Master." an old man asked.

"Yes," he replied while looking at Lucas.

Both of them sat inside the car and started driving.

This started a new friendship between the main character and side character.
