As soon as the answer fell, Yaoshi's gaze shifted toward Blade.
Although Cecilia had not actually said what favor she wanted, the Aeon of Abundance seemed to already understand everything.
That made Cecilia a little curious.
Could it be that, ever since she arrived on the Luofu, Yaoshi had been watching her the whole time?
Still, she had not noticed anything unusual herself—but Yaoshi was an Aeon, after all. It made sense that she would never notice.
In the end, it did not really matter. Even if Yaoshi had been watching, so what? Having a major existence like that keeping an eye on her only made her safer.
Truthfully, before coming to the Xianzhou, Cecilia had been a little nervous.
Given this identity of hers, who knew what Lan the Hunt might think of her?
If Lan decided to treat her like another Yaoshi spawn and kill her on sight, wouldn't she be completely done for?
But then Cecilia thought it over again. If Lan truly bore her that much hostility, then whether or not she came to the Xianzhou, she would probably be hunted down anyway.
With that thought, she relaxed and looked back at Blade.
"Try to relax. I'm starting now."
Blade said nothing. He only stared fixedly at Cecilia.
At that moment, Blade felt as if some terrifying existence had locked its gaze onto him.
This was the first time he had ever felt anything like this.
As one of the older veterans, Blade had never personally witnessed the power of an Aeon—but he had seen quite a few Emanators.
And yet the Cecilia before him felt far beyond an Emanator.
Could she be an Emanator of Abundance?
Mistaking Yaoshi's attention for Cecilia's own presence, Blade accidentally arrived at the right conclusion.
But Cecilia did not care what Blade thought.
She put on a show, drew out Black Abyss White Flower, and then stabbed him with a single thrust.
In an instant, the disintegrating power of the Abyss enveloped him completely.
Once again, the sensation of death wrapped itself around Blade.
But unlike the countless times he had died before, this time he did not feel that power of Abundance dragging him back from the edge of death.
The force that had clung to him for eight hundred years was being stripped away.
Could it be… that I can really die this time? Blade's heart stirred with excitement.
But Cecilia did not follow up.
Although the power of the Abyss, combined with her Abundance authority, could indeed strip Blade of his Abundance blessing—
it was far too slow.
If Yaoshi, the Aeon of Abundance, personally stepped in, wouldn't that make her look even more professional?
And just then, Yaoshi made Their move.
The entire Path of Abundance boiled over in that instant.
Perhaps because this was a request from Their child, Yaoshi exerted full strength even for something as small as stripping away a blessing.
The next second, Blade's body convulsed violently.
That power of Abundance which had entangled him for eight hundred years was torn out from the very root, surging frantically out of his body.
It was a reclamation from the origin of the Path itself—absolute, irresistible.
"You—"
Blade stared hard at Cecilia, as though he wanted to carve her face into his soul.
But seeing that it was finished, Cecilia said nothing more and simply pulled Black Abyss White Flower back out of his body.
The next instant, Blade's body collapsed backward.
Jing Yuan hurried forward and crouched down to examine him.
Blade was still breathing, but only faintly. The dense aura of Abundance around him had been almost entirely stripped away.
Now, he was nothing more than an ordinary follower of Abundance.
"Yingxing," Jing Yuan called softly.
Blade's eyes shifted slightly toward him.
He parted his lips and, in a barely audible voice, said, "…Thank you."
Then he slowly closed his eyes, seemingly waiting for Jing Yuan to deliver the final blow.
But Jing Yuan did nothing.
He stood there in silence, looking at Blade for a long while before finally rising to his feet.
Then he turned toward Cecilia and gave her a solemn bow.
"Miss Cecilia, on Yingxing's behalf—and on behalf of all of us old friends—thank you."
Cecilia waved a hand dismissively. "No need for thanks. This was just a normal transaction. I still have matters I need the Luofu to help me with."
Jing Yuan nodded slightly, but his expression remained grave.
"Miss Cecilia, rest assured. I will honor my promise."
Even if Cecilia had not mentioned it, he would not have forgotten.
Because Jing Yuan was also extremely curious—why would an Emanator of Abundance suddenly take an interest in the mysterious?
Yes. At this point, Jing Yuan had already equated Cecilia with an Emanator of Abundance.
Blade and Jingliu were different. They were powerful, yes, but Pathstriders were still only Pathstriders.
Jing Yuan, however, had truly seen an Aeon before.
At the instant Cecilia had acted, the feeling she gave him had been the same as when he once faced the Reignbow Arbiter.
So the answer was obvious.
Still, an Emanator of Abundance was just an Emanator of Abundance. Jing Yuan was not about to treat Cecilia the same way the Xianzhou had once treated Shuhu.
Right?
After all, the Xianzhou Alliance did not actually harbor prejudice against followers of Abundance in general. So if he, Jing Yuan, turned a blind eye and chose not to make a special issue of this Emanator of Abundance, that should be fine… right?
Otherwise, judging from the aura Cecilia had just revealed, Jing Yuan felt she could beat him one-handed.
Silence fell over the cell for a time.
Cecilia had no interest in continuing Jing Yuan's polite formalities.
Because she had suddenly realized something.
A blind spot.
A moment ago, Yaoshi had only stripped Blade's blessing away—but had not taken it back.
Originally, They had seemed to intend to pass that blessing on to her instead.
But Cecilia had refused.
After all, the blessing was not remotely tempting to her, especially since it came from a piece of Shuhu's flesh.
The more she thought about it, the more it sounded uncomfortably close to body-snatching.
Ugh. A blessing made from someone else's flesh really did feel terribly cheap to her.
So Yaoshi had simply let it dissipate on the spot.
But here was the problem:
Where were they right now?
This was the Luofu's Shackling Prison.
A gathering place for Abundance abominations.
Even if that blessing was useless to Cecilia, to the badly wounded elite monsters imprisoned below, wasn't it practically the ultimate tonic?
And sure enough, the moment that thought crossed Cecilia's mind—
the entire Shackling Prison erupted.
Those monstrous criminals held in the deepest levels, ancient creatures imprisoned for hundreds or even thousands of years, all let out roars in unison…
