The next morning, the academy felt unusually tense.
Students still filled the halls as usual but the whispers had not stopped. In fact, they had grown louder.
Everywhere Kai walked, people turned to look.
Some stared with curiosity.
Some with admiration.
And others with suspicion.
Kai tried his best to ignore them as he walked toward the academy tower.
Luna walked beside him, unusually quiet.
"You're thinking about the council meeting," she said after a moment.
Kai nodded.
"I have a feeling it won't be simple."
The academy council rarely summoned students.
When they did, it usually meant something serious had happened.
And considering everything that had occurred during the past two days…
Kai couldn't blame them.
Still, a strange uneasiness lingered in his chest.
It wasn't just the council.
It was something else.
Something deeper.
"You'll be fine," Luna said. "You didn't break any rules."
Kai gave a small smile.
"I hope the council sees it that way."
They reached the base of the academy tower.
Two guards stood outside the entrance.
Both were elite instructors.
Their presence alone showed how important this meeting was.
One of them stepped forward.
"Kai?"
Kai nodded.
"You've been summoned by the council. Enter."
Kai glanced briefly at Luna.
"I'll see you later."
"Good luck."
Kai walked into the tower.
The council chamber sat at the very top.
It was a massive circular room with tall windows that overlooked the entire academy.
Seven seats formed a half circle around the center of the chamber.
Six of them were already occupied.
Headmaster Valen stood near the center of the room.
The moment Kai entered, all eyes turned toward him.
The atmosphere instantly felt heavy.
"Step forward," the headmaster said calmly.
Kai walked to the center of the chamber.
For a moment, no one spoke.
Then one of the council members leaned forward.
He was an elderly man with sharp eyes and long white hair.
"Student Kai."
His voice was slow but powerful.
"You are aware why you have been summoned?"
Kai answered honestly.
"I assume it's about the demon beast and the lightning."
Several council members exchanged glances.
"Correct," another member said.
This one was a woman wearing dark blue robes.
Her gaze was careful and observant.
"We have reviewed the reports from the instructors who witnessed the event."
Kai remained silent.
The first elder continued.
"They claim you summoned violet lightning."
Kai hesitated for a moment.
Then he nodded.
"Yes."
The room fell quiet again.
The council members studied him carefully.
Finally, the headmaster spoke.
"Kai."
"Have you ever heard of violet lightning before?"
Kai shook his head.
"No."
One of the council members sighed quietly.
"That is what we feared."
Kai frowned slightly.
"What do you mean?"
The elder leaned back slowly.
"There are many types of magic in this world."
"Fire. Water. Wind. Earth."
"But some forms of magic…"
His eyes narrowed slightly.
"Are far older."
Kai felt a strange chill run through him.
"Violet lightning is not ordinary magic," the woman in blue said.
"It belongs to a power that has not been seen for centuries."
Kai blinked.
"Centuries?"
The council members nodded.
Headmaster Valen stepped forward.
"There is a reason we built the Royal Academy where it stands today."
Kai listened carefully.
Valen continued.
"Long ago, this land was the center of a great war."
"A war between powerful mages who nearly destroyed the world."
Kai felt a strange sensation in his chest again.
As if those words meant more than they should.
"The war ended when one individual appeared," Valen said.
"A mage who possessed power far beyond anyone else."
Kai's heart suddenly beat faster.
The headmaster looked directly at him.
"They called him the Sovereign of Storms."
Kai's breath caught.
Fragments of his strange dreams flashed through his mind.
The battlefield.
The throne made of lightning.
The voice whispering in the storm.
"That mage controlled violet lightning," Valen continued.
"And with it…"
"He ended the war."
Kai struggled to process what he was hearing.
"You're saying… someone like that existed?"
"Yes," the elder replied.
"But he vanished soon after."
"Some believed he died."
"Others believed he simply disappeared."
Kai swallowed slowly.
"And you think… that power has something to do with me?"
The council members exchanged uneasy glances.
Finally, the woman in blue spoke quietly.
"We do not know."
"But the moment we sensed violet lightning inside the academy…"
Her voice grew serious.
"We knew something had changed."
Kai looked down at his hands.
They felt normal.
But somewhere deep inside him…
That strange power still existed.
"So what happens now?" he asked.
The headmaster answered calmly.
"For now, nothing."
Kai looked up in surprise.
"You will continue your studies like any other student."
"But," Valen added, "we will be watching closely."
Kai nodded slowly.
"That seems fair."
But the elder raised one more question.
"There is one more thing."
Kai waited.
"Have you experienced any unusual dreams recently?"
Kai hesitated.
The battlefield.
The lightning throne.
The mysterious voice.
Part of him wanted to tell the truth.
But another part held back.
"I… might have had some strange dreams."
The council members leaned forward slightly.
"What kind of dreams?"
Kai chose his words carefully.
"Storms."
"Lightning."
"And… a battlefield."
The silence that followed was heavy.
The council members exchanged looks again.
The elder finally spoke.
"That confirms it."
Kai frowned.
"Confirms what?"
But before anyone could answer—
A sudden tremor shook the tower.
Boooom!
The entire chamber vibrated slightly.
Everyone froze.
Another tremor followed.
Booom!
One of the instructors rushed into the chamber.
"Headmaster!"
Valen turned sharply.
"What is it?"
The instructor looked alarmed.
"The academy barrier just detected something approaching."
Kai's heart skipped.
"Approaching?"
"Yes."
The instructor hesitated.
"It's powerful."
"How powerful?" the elder asked.
The instructor swallowed.
"Stronger than anything we've detected in years."
The council members immediately stood.
Valen walked toward the window overlooking the academy grounds.
Dark clouds were gathering in the distance.
Lightning flickered inside them.
But something about the storm felt wrong.
It was moving.
Straight toward the academy.
Kai stepped closer to the window.
That same strange feeling returned to his chest.
Recognition.
Almost like the storm itself knew him.
Valen's voice became serious.
"Activate the full defensive barrier."
The instructor nodded and rushed out.
Kai stared at the approaching storm.
Deep inside the clouds…
Something moved.
Something massive.
And for the first time since the demon beast attack…
Kai felt genuine fear.
Because whatever was coming toward the academy,
It wasn't an accident.
And somehow…
It was connected to him.
