Just as Jack was hesitating about whether to get involved in the fight between Iron Man and Iron Monger, Tony, with very little energy left, started to fall into a disadvantage against the much bigger Iron Monger.
"Tony, it seems fate wants you to die by my hand." Feeling he had the upper hand, Stane mocked Tony as he attacked him.
"Oh no, Dad is losing."
Seeing Tony getting injured, Morgan's mind went blank. Without thinking, she immediately activated her suit and flew straight toward him.
"Morgan, wait!"
Before Emma could stop her, Morgan was already far away.
Seeing Morgan flying toward her father, Jack understood that he had no right to stop a daughter from saving her dad when he was in danger just because of some bullshit theory about time and timelines.
"Let her handle this. Stane doesn't stand a chance against Morgan's Iron Man suit."
Jack stopped Gwen and Emma, who also wanted to follow Morgan.
Morgan arrived at full speed and slammed into Stane before he even realized what was happening.
Boom!
The powerful impact sent the giant Iron Monger stumbling backward before crashing onto the road.
Everyone watching the battle froze.
"Who is that?"
"A... another enemy?"
Even the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents looked at each other in surprise. None of them had expected another armored figure to suddenly appear on the battlefield.
"WHO?!" Stane roared in fury as he looked at his attacker.
What he saw was a suit that resembled Tony's, but it looked far more advanced, with a blue and silver color scheme.
Seeing the advanced armor and the glowing arc reactor, Stane's first thought was that it was another one of Tony's inventions. But when he saw the surprised look on Tony's face, he quickly threw that idea out of his mind.
Morgan finally realized she had rushed into the fight without thinking. But seeing Tony standing there safely, the worry in her heart eased a little.
"D..."
Morgan almost called him "Dad," but she quickly stopped herself.
"Are you alright?" she asked worriedly.
Hearing the unfamiliar female voice, Tony looked at the mysterious girl with many questions in his mind.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Who are you, miss?" Tony asked as he looked at the mysterious girl.
Morgan wanted to answer, but before she could, she noticed Stane getting back on his feet.
Without another word, she raised her arm.
"Friday, target the opponent's weakness."
"Target locked."
Several heavy weapons emerged from the suit and fired at Iron Monger.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Against Morgan's far more advanced technology, Stane's suit was heavily damaged. Sparks flew from several parts of the armor as warning alarms echoed inside the cockpit.
"Warning. Core systems damaged. Energy output unstable."
Stane ignored every warning.
"No! I won't lose!" he roared as he forced more power into the suit.
"Morgan, the opponent's energy is becoming unstable," Friday warned. "It looks like the reactor is overloading."
Hearing that, Morgan immediately backed away from Iron Monger.
"Everyone, get back!" Tony immediately shouted after Jarvis gave him the same warning.
Still unwilling to give up, Stane forced the damaged suit to move forward one last time.
The overloaded reactor could no longer handle the heavily damaged systems.
Boom!
A huge explosion engulfed the Iron Monger, sending pieces of armor flying in every direction.
Smoke slowly cleared from the street.
"Is... is he dead?" Morgan asked worriedly as she looked toward the destroyed suit.
Inside the broken Iron Monger, Obadiah was covered in blood and badly injured. The cockpit had protected him from the full force of the explosion, but he was no longer able to move.
Seeing Stane lying there, Tony remained silent for a few moments. The man he had trusted like family had brought this ending upon himself.
"Thanks for the help," Tony said with a smile. "But I had everything under control."
"I believe you," Morgan replied.
"Hello, miss. Thank you for stopping him."
After making sure the area was safe, Phil Coulson walked over.
"I am Phil Coulson, from the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division."
"Coulson, you still haven't changed that lengthy name?" Seeing Coulson, Tony joked as he landed beside him.
"Mr. Stark, it's good to see you again. I didn't expect you'd surprise us so soon by building armor this advanced." Coulson looked at Morgan's suit with interest.
Tony also looked at the blue and silver suit.
"Jarvis, scan that suit."
"I'm sorry, sir. I can't get any useful information. The suit's technology is beyond my current database."
Hearing Jarvis's reply, Tony became even more curious.
"No, Coulson, you're wrong." Tony smiled. "That isn't my suit."
His eyes stayed on Morgan's arc reactor for another moment before he looked away.
"And it's not a weapon. It's a high-tech prosthesis."
Hearing Tony's words, even Coulson couldn't keep a straight face.
Coulson then turned toward Morgan.
"Ma'am, may we have your information? Our department monitors and safeguards the Earth from different threats. Since you're wearing such advanced armor, we'd like to know who you are."
Morgan froze for a moment, wondering how she was supposed to answer that.
Just then—
"Come on, Coulson. You can't fool her like that."
Hearing the familiar voice, everyone turned to look.
Jack, wearing his Plumber suit, slowly walked toward them.
"Godfather!"
Seeing Jack, Morgan immediately ran over to his side.
"Sorry," Morgan said in a low voice, lowering her head.
"It's alright," Jack replied.
"Mr. Omnix I didn't expect to meet you here. It was a pleasant surprise." Phil hadn't expected to meet Omnix here, and from the interaction between the girl and Omnix, it was clear the two had a close relationship.
"Alien buddy, didn't you tell me you were going to visit me later? I haven't seen you since you saved me that day." Seeing Omnix Tony smiled.
He glanced at Morgan's suit once more.
"I guess you've got a lot to explain next time we meet."
Jack smiled but didn't answer.
"Coulson, she belongs to my organization, so tell your Director to drop any plans he has for her."
"I understand. I'll report it to Director Fury."
Before leaving, Jack looked back at Tony.
"Take care of yourself."
With that, Jack and Morgan flew into the night sky, leaving Tony looking at the place where they had disappeared.
Tony watched them disappear into the distance before turning back to Coulson.
"So, can you explain how you guys got information about Stane? You seemed to know about Obadiah's betrayal."
"It's a coincidence. We had been doing our own investigation into who kidnapped you, and we suspected Obadiah."
Tony looked at Coulson for a few seconds.
"That's one hell of a coincidence." Tony smiled. "Sometimes I feel like you guys are watching me all the time."
Coulson simply smiled.
"We like to stay informed, Mr. Stark."
Tony shook his head with a helpless smile.
"I'll pretend I didn't hear that."
"Tony!"
Hearing Pepper's voice, Tony immediately turned around.
Pepper ran straight toward him and hugged him tightly.
"Pepper, didn't I tell you not to come? It could've been dangerous."
"I... I just couldn't stay there knowing you were here fighting alone."
Tony smiled and gently patted her back.
"I'm alright now."
By then, the sound of police sirens filled the area. More and more people gathered around, looking at the destroyed street and the heavily damaged Iron Monger. Reporters also rushed to the scene, trying to get closer.
"Keep everyone back!" S.H.I.E.L.D. agents quickly set up a perimeter, stopping reporters and civilians from entering the area.
Coulson looked at Tony.
"Mr. Stark, we'll take care of everything from here. You're injured. You should leave before the reporters surround you."
Tony looked around at the growing crowd before nodding.
"Sounds like a good idea."
He turned toward Pepper.
"Let's go."
Pepper nodded and walked beside him.
Tony activated his suit, took Pepper with him, and soon disappeared into the night sky before any reporters could reach them.
Nearby, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents carefully pulled Obadiah Stane out of the damaged Iron Monger. Although he was badly injured, he was still alive. They quickly placed him into an ambulance and sent him to the hospital under heavy guard while the remaining agents secured the entire area.
