Chapter 6 - Uninvited guest

The bathroom was a total mess. It became a sea of water because Chen and Mei were pulling my body toward each other. But suddenly, a strange sound came from the front door.

Beep-beep-beep—

The sound of the digital lock opening. I froze for a second. The only people who know the passcode to this place are me and the old landlord who occasionally comes by for errands.

"Who is it?"

I threw on a towel and ran out to the living room. Chen and Mei followed, still soaking wet. Standing at the entrance was a strange woman. No, not a woman—a beast-person. But her vibe was different from Chen or Mei.

Golden scales were embedded in parts of her skin, and two small horns sprouted from the top of her head. A snake... no, a dragon-beastwoman, Jia. She was panting heavily, staring intently at Mei's necklace.

"That... where did you get that?"

Jia's voice was trembling. Without a word, she stomped right into the house. Chen tried to block her, but Jia lightly pushed her aside and lunged at me.

"I came here because of the resonance of this necklace. My body... my blood is boiling so much I can't stand it."

She grabbed my shirt collar tightly. The scales on the back of her hands were glowing hot. Jia was a fairly famous high-rank hunter in Xinghai. I couldn't understand why someone like her would come all the way to a shabby rooftop apartment like this.

"Calm down first. What is this thing anyway?"

"This isn't just a necklace. It's a 'sacred relic' of my lost clan. But why... why is such dense mana coming from a human like you?"

Her pupils slit vertically as she scanned me. Jia licked the back of my hand and her eyes widened. It seemed the energy radiating from my body, which was covered in the marks of Mei and Chen, was overstimulating her.

"Li-An, who is this woman? Why did she hack our passcode and barge in!"

Mei shouted angrily, pulling at Jia's arm. But Jia didn't budge. Instead, she wrapped her arms around my waist and buried her face in my chest.

"I don't know. It doesn't matter anymore. This energy... it feels too good. I'm staying here too."

"What? Are you crazy?"

I yelled in confusion, but Jia's hand was already on my belt buckle. The strength of a dragon-beastwoman was on a completely different level than a wolf or a leopard. Even Chen and Mei flinched for a moment, suppressed by Jia's aura.

The night in Xinghai was getting deeper, and my room was now packed with three predators. The floor of the small living room grew hot with their shared heat.

"Li-An, we're playing with all four of us tonight, right?"

Jia smiled seductively and stole a kiss from my lips. Chen and Mei, refusing to lose, grabbed various parts of my body.

I had a feeling my level would rise faster here than in any dungeon. I still have a thousand floors to go, but I feel like my stamina is going to hit zero already.
