Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: The Weight of Power

After the Announcement

The classroom didn't return to normal.

It couldn't.

Haruto's victory in the exam had changed something fundamental.

Not just the rankings—

But the balance of the class itself.

Students whispered in corners.

Not about the exam.

About him.

"He predicted everything…"

"Even Class A…"

"Is he even human?"

Keiko Yamashita tried to lighten the mood.

Keiko (forcing a smile):

"Come on guys, we still won, right? That's what matters!"

But even her usual energy…

Felt weaker.

Because deep down—

Everyone knew.

They didn't win.

Haruto did.

Scene 2 – Hikari & Rin Observation

Near the window—

Hikari Aizawa stood silently.

Beside her, Rin Aoyama crossed her arms.

Sharp gaze. Analytical.

Rin:

"You've been watching him a lot."

Hikari:

"…Because he's dangerous."

Rin:

"He's useful."

Hikari turned slightly.

Hikari:

"Useful people become threats when no one can stop them."

A pause.

Rin smirked faintly.

Rin:

"Then stop him."

Hikari's eyes narrowed.

Hikari:

"…Not yet."

Scene 3 – Haruto & Kenta

Kenta Mizuhara approached Haruto.

Kenta:

"…You've changed the class."

Haruto:

"No."

A pause.

Haruto:

"I revealed it."

Kenta frowned slightly.

Kenta:

"People are starting to depend on you too much."

Haruto:

"That's expected."

Kenta:

"…And dangerous."

A brief silence.

Haruto:

"Yes."

No denial.

Because he already knew.

Scene 4 – New Threat (Class C)

Training hall.

A crowd gathered.

Class C's representative stepped forward.

Daichi Kurogane.

Tall. Muscular. Calm.

But unlike others—

His eyes were focused.

Daichi:

"So you're Haruto Kageyama."

Haruto stood across from him.

Silent.

Daichi:

"I heard you rely on strategy."

A pause.

Daichi removed his jacket.

Daichi:

"Let's see if your body can keep up."

Scene 5 – Fight Begins

No countdown.

No signal.

Daichi moved first.

Fast.

Not reckless like others.

Controlled strength.

Punch aimed directly at Haruto's jaw.

Haruto tilted his head slightly—

The punch grazed past.

But this time—

Daichi didn't lose balance.

Instead—

He followed up instantly.

A second strike.

Haruto blocked.

Impact echoed.

Stronger than before.

Scene 6 – Background Reactions

Outside the ring—

Ren Sakamoto:

"…He's fast."

Shouhei Takeda narrowed his eyes.

Shouhei:

"That guy… he's trained."

Keiko looked worried.

Keiko:

"Haruto…"

Rin watched carefully.

Rin:

"This isn't like the last fight."

Hikari said nothing.

But her eyes—

Didn't blink.

Scene 7 – Haruto Adapts

Daichi attacked again.

This time—

Haruto stepped forward.

Closing distance instead of retreating.

Unexpected.

Haruto grabbed Daichi's arm—

Twist—

But—

Daichi resisted.

Strength vs precision.

For the first time—

Haruto paused.

"Not brute force…"

"Conditioned body. Trained resistance."

Scene 8 – Shift in Strategy

Haruto released instantly.

Stepped back.

Reset.

Daichi smirked slightly.

Daichi:

"Not so easy, right?"

Silence.

Then—

Haruto moved.

Faster.

Sharper.

Low step.

Attack aimed—

Not at strength.

At balance.

Foot sweep—

Daichi staggered slightly.

That was enough.

Haruto's hand struck—

Directly to the side of the neck.

Precise.

Daichi froze.

Body failed to respond for a second.

Scene 9 – Finish

Haruto stepped behind him.

Controlled his shoulder—

Forced him down.

Not violently.

Inevitably.

Daichi hit the ground.

Silence.

Haruto:

"You rely too much on resistance."

A pause.

Haruto:

"I remove it."

Scene 10 – Aftermath

The room was silent.

Not shocked.

But…

Understanding something deeper.

Haruto didn't overpower.

He analyzed mid-fight and adapted instantly.

Hikari (whisper):

"…He's evolving."

Scene 11 – Yuna Watches

Far away—

Yuna observed the report.

Yuna:

"Physical adaptability…"

A pause.

Yuna:

"And mental dominance."

A faint smile.

Yuna:

"You're becoming interesting, Haruto."

Her eyes darkened.

Yuna:

"But now…"

A pause.

Yuna:

"I'll stop testing you."

Final Monologue

Haruto (inner):

"Strength alone is predictable."

A pause.

"But adaptation…"

A faint, cold expression.

"is limitless."
