Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: First wondrous item Forging

"Buzz!"

A sound similar to a mosquito's flight entered Senri's ears. Senri rolled, dodging a phantom attack that almost severed his arm.

"Heh." The Herrscher of the Void, somewhat disheveled but with few injuries, let out a cold laugh.

Senri looked warily at the rapidly retreating assault-type Honkai Beast (mosquito Honkai Beast) after its failed attack, then looked at the Herrscher of the Void, who was dragging the body of another assault-type Honkai Beast, flying into the air, and finally sitting on top of a chariot-type Honkai Beast's head.

Senri did not successfully kill the Herrscher of the Void in a short time.

Because Senri suddenly realized he had overlooked a problem.

The Herrscher of the Void was not skilled in hand-to-hand combat, and her combat experience was not as good as the trained Senri's, but after being baptized by Honkai Energy, the Herrscher of the Void had strong physical qualities, great strength, and fast reaction speed.

She was equivalent to an untrained Valkyrie, but her physical qualities were undeniable.

The moment humans became Herrschers, their species had already transformed.

How could a normal human survive in a vacuum?

Being able to cause some minor injuries to the Herrscher of the Void was already due to Senri's slight proficiency in combat.

Moreover, when the Herrscher of the Void realized that only her Herrscher of the Void Authority was sealed, but the use of Honkai Energy was not prohibited, it was Senri's turn to be cautious.

Although a Herrscher's Honkai Energy exists in imaginary space and requires a herrscher core to open imaginary space, there is still a small amount of Honkai Energy within the herrscher core.

The Herrscher of the Void just couldn't use her Authority; she wasn't crippled.

However, when the Herrscher of the Void noticed this fact, her Honkai Beasts also arrived, and the Herrscher of the Void was too lazy to act personally.

"Human, I am waiting for my subordinate small Honkai Beasts. What are you waiting for?" The Herrscher of the Void looked down at Senri with a sneer.

"I'm waiting…"

"Are you waiting for me?" A sweet and pleasant voice entered Senri's ears, and then a figure as dazzling as flying petals burst into Senri's vision.

Magnificent crystal arrows struck, pinning the Honkai Beasts that were surrounding Senri one by one to the ground.

"Hi, young man, do you need help?" The pink-haired beautiful girl slowly walked to Senri's side amidst the Herrscher of the Void's gritting expression.

"…" Senri was startled.

Goodness, the time he arrived was indeed the eve of their great battle.

"Although I'm a bit late, it seems I'm not too late," Elysia said confidently.

"No, it's already too late." Senri shook his head.

Because the Herrscher of the Void had already flown up again after moving a certain distance away from Senri.

"Hmm, why can she fly again?" Elysia was a little curious.

"That's not important. What's important is that she seems to be trying to escape," Senri said, looking at the Herrscher of the Void, who was full of apprehension and eager to leave.

"That's troublesome." Elysia frowned.

Elysia was confident in defeating the Herrscher of the Void, but not confident in catching her.

The Herrscher of the Void's ability, if used for escape, was truly convenient.

"Ah, I have a plan." Senri raised his index finger.

"Hmm?"

The Herrscher of the Void, floating in the air again, hesitated given the current situation.

The Herrscher of the Void was not afraid if these two separated.

The Herrscher of the Void didn't believe Elysia could kill her, and Senri's attacks were weak and ineffective.

But if one person was responsible for suppressing her abilities and the other attacked her, then she would be finished.

Logically speaking, the Herrscher of the Void should run now, but the Herrscher of the Void was extremely uneasy about Senri, who could suppress her abilities.

"Plan failed, retreat separately!" Just as the Herrscher of the Void hesitated, she heard the two, who had been huddled together, shout before instantly fleeing in separate directions.

"Hmm?" The Herrscher of the Void was somewhat puzzled.

Although Senri could no longer suppress her abilities once she left a certain range from him, and he indeed had no chance of killing her again, wasn't fleeing so decisively a bit rash?

Although she had many doubts, the Herrscher of the Void still couldn't suppress her murderous intent towards Senri. She mobilized most of the Honkai Beasts across the entire city to pursue Elysia, while she herself led hundreds of Honkai Beasts to pursue Senri.

The Herrscher of the Void had seen many humans, but she had only seen this one human who could restrain her abilities.

Now that the other party was separated from her companion, it was a good time to kill her.

If this person didn't die, the Herrscher of the Void couldn't sleep!

And 100 Honkai Beasts were enough to crush the other party.

Senri didn't run fast, so he was quickly surrounded by Honkai Beasts.

But Senri, surrounded by Honkai Beasts, was not flustered at all.

"You were just asking what I was waiting for, right? I was waiting for the cooldown!" Senri looked up at the Herrscher of the Void in the air.

Countless huge shadows enveloped Senri!

But when the Herrscher of the Void commanded the Honkai Beast swarm to disperse to see if Senri had been successfully killed, what met her eyes was Senri, firmly protected by a circular shield about five meters in diameter.

In front of Senri, there was also a hammer and a miracle forge.

[miracle forge]

"Phew…" Senri breathed a sigh of relief.

After obtaining Miracle Power by chasing the Herrscher of the Void, Senri, as a Oddity Forger, could now forge oddities.

But Senri was also waiting to accumulate more space-time energy (star stone).

Because Senri found that when he acted in a way that deviated from the original space-time's destiny trajectory (beating the Herrscher of the Void), his star stone could also be rapidly replenished.

This shield was precisely a protective shield formed to prevent the Forger from being disturbed while forging oddities; it was the same type of shield that Little Sprite [miracle] used to trap Senri back then.

As long as the attack power did not exceed a certain limit, the Miracle Shield would not be damaged.

At least the Herrschers and Honkai Beasts in front of him couldn't break through the limit.

Ignoring the exasperated Herrscher of the Void, Senri took out his only two remaining relics.

[Call Conveyed to the Distance] and [knight's broken sword].

Although the effects of these two relics were greatly reduced due to the different worldviews, these two items were indeed excellent materials.

The first true wondrous item forging… began!

Although placing two items together and adding an appropriate amount of Miracle Power before hammering them could also form an wondrous item, the effect was not as controllable as precise forging.

So Senri chose manual operation.

Two blue crystals appeared in Senri's hand; these were crystals formed by the condensation of Miracle Power.

There was a reason Senri called them "crystals."

The two crystals were tossed into the entrance next to the forging platform, and suddenly, Miracle Fire ignited on the previously flat forging platform.

Senri threw both relics into the flames, and as time passed, the two relics gradually dimmed.

Soon, countless characters of varying brightness rose from the flames.

"Knight," "Summon," "Forced Transaction," "Justice," "Price," "Communication," "Heroic Spirit," "Return"...

These were Source Texts representing the essence of the two relics.

Now they awaited Senri's selection; only the chosen texts would be refined into "Entries," while unchosen ones, not worth materializing with Miracle Power, would end up in the forging platform's recycling bin.

Refining Entries essentially meant guiding these Source Texts towards the domain of rules through "Miracle Power," hence the need to burn Miracle Fire.

The effects of these "Entries" could be positive, negative, or neutral, and their brightness indicated their priority.

A prime example is that there's a difference even between two "Guaranteed Hit" Entries.

Some "Guaranteed Hit" Entries ensure a hit, while others can be dodged with enough luck and skill... You agree, right, Cú Chulainn?

The brightness of an Entry is determined by two factors: first, the quality of the carrier providing the Entry, and second, the meaning endowed by time and destiny attached to it.

The dimmer an Entry's brightness, the weaker its effect; although Miracle Fire can be used to increase an Entry's brightness, the cost is extremely high.

Senri's current task was to select suitable Entries, combine them, and forge an wondrous item.

Senri's crystals were not abundant, but the good news was that these two relics inherently possessed rule-based power, so they only needed minor adjustments to be usable, greatly reducing the consumption of Miracle Fire.

This was another major source of Miracle Fire consumption, besides adjusting Entry brightness.

In short, the poorer the quality of the forging material's carrier, the higher the cost of creating a "miracle."

miracles are never free.

For the carrier, Senri chose the somewhat decayed "knight's broken sword."

Having long planned how to forge this wondrous item, Senri quickly gathered the necessary Entries, then raised the miracle Forging Hammer and began to "refine" them, "forging" these Source Texts into true Entries and hammering them into the carrier.

"Clang!"

"Clang!"

"Clang!"

The melodious sound of hammering echoed throughout the ruins.
