Chapter 1 - Betrayed Love

In a family with three sons—Ratul, Sagor, and Joy—each child was dearly loved by their parents. Ratul, the eldest, was studying first-year Honors in Mathematics. One afternoon, while watering plants on the terrace, he noticed Payel, an older girl from the neighboring house, walking around. Ratul immediately felt drawn to her gentle presence.

Days passed, and he kept stealing glances at her. One day, Payel confronted him at a shopping mall, asking, "Why do you follow me every day?" Naively, Ratul confessed, "I love you." Payel remained silent and walked away. The next day, she avoided looking at him entirely. In a playful attempt to gain her attention, Ratul tossed a note into her yard that read, "I love you," along with his phone number.

That night, Payel called him at 1 a.m., explaining that he was too young for her and that she could never love him in that way. Heartbroken but persistent, Ratul tried to express his feelings again, but she continued to reject him. For three days, Ratul avoided the terrace, and Payel noticed his absence. On Shab-e-Barat, she visited his house with gifts, and finally, Ratul's sincere love touched her heart. They started seeing each other secretly, growing closer over the years.

Eventually, their studies finished, and Ratul proposed marriage. Surprisingly, Payel distanced herself, admitting she could love him but not marry him. Devastated, Ratul quickly moved on, proposing to another girl who accepted, and they married. Payel married a businessman, and both started their families.

Years later, Ratul had a son, and Payel had a son and a daughter. This story teaches a timeless truth: life is fleeting, and time wasted on longing or indecision is lost forever. Fate unfolds as it will, and one must focus on meaningful actions rather than dwelling on unchangeable circumstances. True love, opportunity, and timing rarely align perfectly, but life always moves forward.
