Chapter 1 - Chapter 0- The Rejection

"Some sacrifices are what fate demands for miracles"…

***

The pack house of Dark Moon pack was alive with activities as every servant ran about carrying out tasks, and putting things in place for the feast that would be happening later in the evening. It was the first official the new Alpha was throwing since he became the Alpha a few months ago. Guests were beginning to arrive and filling up the largest Hall beside the pack house.

The invited guests include Alphas of other packs and distant relatives to the Alpha, tonight was also supposed to be the night where the Alpha publicly presents his future Luna to the people.

Every pack member already knew who the future Luna was and it was the daughter of the neighbouring pack leader.

Despite the joyful atmosphere and preparation to celebrate in a few hours, an Omega was deep within the Alpha's quarter shackled to a metal pole in the middle of a makeshift prison for the frail figure that could not stand properly.

The room was dark and smelled of blood and rotting skin, it was dead silent except for the occasional intake of breath from the Omega tied to the pole.

The door opened suddenly and a light switch was flicked on.

A tall figure clad in a ceremonial robe of the pack walked and stopped in front of him before he crouched down to drag him by the hair, forcing his face up.

"In a few hours, I will be introducing my chosen mate to the pack and to everyone willing to hear.

Why are you such a stubborn mutt to not accept my rejection and break this bond?" Alpha Tyrone spat as frustration boiled through his eyes while staring back at the delicate face of the Omega at his feet.

The clear and unblinking eyes that stared back at him for a few seconds made his heart quicken for a split second until disgust overrode the sensation.

"This will be the last time I will repeat this, if you do not accept this rejection I will kill you and discard your body. If you need someone to blame, blame the moon goddess for binding us together. And yourself for your unfortunate fate.

I am now the Alpha, I cannot jeopardize the pack by mating with a nameless and weak Omega rather than the one who was chosen for me". He continued to talk even though he wasn't getting any response or reaction from the figure that was barely breathing on the floor.

"I, Alpha Tyrone of Dark Moon pack, reject you as my mate".

He said the ritual again and waited for a response, his teeth gritted forcefully as he noticed he was getting ignored again. When he was about to turn around to leave, a soft voice responded weakly.

"I accept".

It was barely above a whisper, as someone who was known to never speak to anyone for years, Alpha Tyrone was stunned to hear him speak but before he could react a painful sensation rippled through him as the bond snapped in half.

The Omega barely breathing went unconscious and the bond they had shared which had been a secret from everyone else became nonexistent as if it never existed to begin with.

A few hours later, the feast began as planned and everyone ate and drank among themselves. Alpha Tyrone presented the future Luna to the pack members and they all cheered happily and celebrated the strengthened alliance with the neighbouring pack.

When the party was coming to an end and most people were retiring to bed, a handful of young Alphas remained in the hall and kept drinking.

"Tyrone, it's such a shame that we came all the way here and there are no Omegas to spend the night with. It would be a nice way to end the night, is there anyone I can use?" One of them asked Tyrone from across the table and silence quickly overcame the atmosphere.

"Sorry, I spoke out of turn. I know how precious your omegas must be. We have fewer of them now, thanks to those monster-

"There is actually someone if you don't mind a little bit of dirt and some scruff". Tyrone's unexpected response made them exchange a few glances.

"Of course not!"
