Clause One of the 1919 Treaty stated that "The sword shall be demilitarized through the shrinking of sword to word." This was put into action and for most of the twentieth century this clause appeared symbolic. That changed with Eurostate which metamorphosed it from symbolic to literal. Physical violence still exists but is heavily ritualized and restricted now. Gunslingers may shoot only within designated environments such as bars, pubs, and clubs.
War itself is partially theatrical. The true battlefield is linguistic.
