"Renchoku Girls' Academy…"
Rin withdrew his gaze, the crimson six-pointed pattern in his eyes fading away.
With a dull thud, the Assistant Supervisor, freed from the genjutsu, collapsed onto the grime-streaked asphalt of the alley and fell into a deep coma.
When he woke up, all memories of encountering Rin tonight would be gone. He would only recall that he had miraculously survived after a desperate battle.
"Thanks for the directions. Though your attitude could've been better."
Rin stepped over the man's body and walked straight out of the dark alley.
The vibrant neon lights returned to view. Shinjuku's nightlife was just beginning.
Rin did not immediately head for the girls' school.
The Star Plasma Vessel incident carried far-reaching consequences. Not only had the fanatics of the Star Religious Group placed a massive bounty, but Toji Fushiguro, known as the "Sorcerer Killer," was also lurking in the shadows.
And the most troublesome factor of all was the pair of problem children about to take on the escort mission—Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto.
"Limitless Cursed Technique, huh…"
Rin sat beneath the parasol of an upscale open-air café and ordered a black coffee.
He knew very well that with his current strength, backed by the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and Yang Release, even if Gojo Satoru activated Limitless, he had dozens of ways to pin that white-haired man to the ground and beat him.
But as a newcomer trying to establish himself in this world, if he wanted to harvest dimension points efficiently and remain untouchable while doing so, he needed a true trump card—something that allowed him to traverse space freely and ignore physical attacks altogether.
"System, check the exchange for Kamui."
[Ding! Searching for target ability…]
[Kamui: A space-time dōjutsu exclusive to the Mangekyō Sharingan.]
[Exchange requirement: 20,000 dimension points.]
"Twenty thousand points? For dual-eye Kamui… worth it."
Rin gently swirled the coffee in his cup, his calm expression reflected on its surface.
"Confirm exchange."
[Deducting 20,000 dimension points. Initiating fusion with space-time dōjutsu: Kamui!]
As the mechanical voice faded, an extremely subtle spatial fluctuation flickered deep within Rin's eyes.
It was an instinctive comprehension of spatial laws. In that instant, the world before him no longer appeared as a simple three-dimensional structure, but as a network filled with countless hidden nodes that could be folded and traversed at will.
Rin set the coffee cup down and shifted his thoughts slightly.
Click.
The moment his fingers left it, the cup vanished without a trace.
Within Rin's Kamui dimension, the cup floated quietly in midair.
"Intangibility. Teleportation. Limitless…"
A playful smile tugged at the corner of Rin's lips. "Gojo Satoru's Limitless creates infinite distance as a defense, while Kamui directly transfers whatever is hit into another dimension. Interesting… let's see which ability is more ruthless."
…
The next morning.
An elite private school in Tokyo—Renchoku Girls' Academy.
Classes were in session, and the campus was silent. The school was known for its strict security and rigorous discipline. Anyone entering or leaving had to pass thorough checks.
But such measures meant nothing to someone who had mastered Kamui.
Wearing a crisp black trench coat, Rin held a newspaper he had picked up somewhere and strolled leisurely toward the locked iron fence at the back of the school.
Then he walked straight through it.
The moment his body touched the iron fence, that portion of it automatically became intangible and slipped into another dimension, then rematerialized the instant it passed through.
The entire process was seamless, without even triggering the alarm.
"Second year of junior high…"
Rin stopped in front of one of the teaching buildings.
Instead of going upstairs, he sat on a bench facing the playground exit. He unfolded his newspaper, appearing to read the day's financial news, while the corner of his eye had already locked onto the music room at the end of the second-floor corridor.
Ring~~!
The bell signaling the end of class rang.
The once-quiet building immediately came alive, filled with the chatter and laughter of young girls.
Before long, a group of students in dark blue sailor-style uniforms poured out of the stairwell and headed toward the playground.
At the center of the crowd, one girl stood out.
She had long black hair held back with a headband, bright, lively eyes, and a faint trace of baby fat still lingering on her cheeks when she smiled. She was animatedly gesturing as she shared something amusing with her friends.
Riko Amanai.
The Star Plasma Vessel.
A girl born to be sacrificed, destined to assimilate with Master Tengen, who had lived for over a thousand years, to maintain the stability of the jujutsu world's barrier.
"Riko! Let's go to Harajuku this weekend! I heard a super delicious crepe shop just opened!" a twin-tailed classmate said excitedly.
"Yes, yes! I also want to buy those new hair clips!" Riko Amanai clapped happily, showing no sign of the heavy fate she carried.
At least in this moment, she was just a fourteen-year-old girl enjoying an ordinary school life.
Rin watched her carefree, innocent expression and slowly folded the newspaper in his hands.
"Using a clueless little girl as a human battery to patch a hole… the way those old men in the jujutsu world operate is even more disgusting than the Ubuyashiki family's old traditions of resorting to seppuku at the slightest issue."
Just as Rin was about to stand up and approach the Star Plasma Vessel as an ordinary passerby..
His sharp perception caught something off.
Outside the playground wall, less than fifty meters from Riko Amanai, a faint ripple of cursed energy was emanating through the air.
It was the kind of presence only sorcerers or trained killers would give off when trying their best to conceal themselves.
"Just hired thugs from the Star Religious Group… couldn't even hold back this long?"
Rin leaned back against the bench, crossing his legs, showing no intention of acting immediately.
He had only come today to confirm her appearance and, incidentally, to see when those two self-proclaimed strongest high schoolers, Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru, would show up.
Bang!
Just as Riko Amanai and her friends were about to cross the playground toward the snack shop, the red brick wall suddenly exploded.
Amid the flying debris, two masked assassins burst out like cheetahs, their short blades infused with cursed energy aimed straight at Riko Amanai.
"Ahhh!"
The sudden attack threw the group of middle school girls into chaos. They screamed and scattered in all directions.
"Riko! Watch out!"
Misato Kuroi, who had been posing as a school cleaner to watch over Riko, rushed out from a corner, raising her broom in a desperate attempt to block.
But she was only an ordinary person. Even with some basic self-defense training, she was no match for professional killers wielding cursed tools.
"Move!"
One of the assassins sneered and slammed the back of his blade into Misato Kuroi's shoulder, sending both her and the broom flying.
The other assassin seized the opening and lunged forward, his blade thrusting straight toward Riko Amanai's throat.
"Die! For the purity of the Star Religious Group!"
Riko Amanai collapsed to the ground, her eyes wide with terror as the blade loomed closer.
Her mind went blank. She wanted to move, to escape, but her body refused to respond.
Am I going to die…
At that critical moment—Boom!
A thunderous explosion erupted from the rooftop of the school building.
A massive creature, resembling a grotesque fusion of mud and white bone, descended from above with a roar that split the air, crashing down toward the two masked assassins.
"Cursed Spirit Manipulation: Rainbow Dragon!"
