Chapter 104 - Chapter 104

"Of course. If I didn't explain it clearly here, I'm pretty sure people in the pharmaceutical field and patients' families alike wouldn't be able to sleep tonight."

"The main principle behind our T-Series Viral Antibody Serum is that it is produced from a super symbiotic virus we successfully cultivated. Once this virus enters the host's body, its primary function is to strengthen the host's own cells, optimize them, and further enhance them, ultimately granting them the ability to devour foreign cells."

"And because of that, as long as something inside the host's body is recognized by the body's own cells as a foreign invader, those strengthened cells will actively move in, consume it, and convert it into nutrients to nourish themselves and, in turn, feed that energy back to the host."

"In other words, with the support of the Viral Antibody Serum, the more severe the virus or illness inside the body is, the stronger the resulting feedback and restoration will be. That is also why we can promise that after three injections, patients can fully recover and return to their best possible condition. The reason is simple: the invading virus inside the body is consumed by the serum and turned into restorative nourishment."

"On top of that, it also strengthens the human body's own immune system and cells."

"And that is exactly why our company dares to classify it as a treatment for the vast majority of illnesses around the world. Because we all know that no matter what the disease is, the root of the problem usually comes down to weakened immunity and harmful viral invasion."

"And our Viral Antibody Serum is uniquely suited to address that. It comprehensively strengthens the body's natural immunity."

"And for that reason, we sincerely encourage everyone, if you have the means, not to hesitate to reserve even the most basic T-3 Viral Antibody Serum injection for yourself."

"Because it will make your body's cells and immune system far stronger. To borrow an old saying, it will make you practically immune to all disease."

"Ma'am, I believe that should answer your question quite clearly."

Facing the reporter in front of her, Lisa answered calmly and confidently, even as the journalists around her kept hammering their shutters after hearing the astonishing explanation coming out of her mouth.

"This is unbelievable."

"I've never heard of a virus like that existing in nature."

"Incredible. This is practically something created by God."

...

For a moment, after Lisa finished speaking, the entire venue broke out into discussion.

Her explanation had been easy to understand. Even people with no medical background at all could follow it without difficulty.

And that was exactly why the virus she described sounded even more extraordinary.

It could destroy harmful viruses inside the body while also feeding that energy back into the host and making the person stronger.

It sounded like the kind of thing that only existed in fantasy, something that gave you every possible benefit without any downside.

Well, almost no downside.

The one thing people did have to pay was the price.

Looking at it that way, even the cheapest T-3 injection cost one hundred thousand dollars. If someone worked hard, lived frugally, and saved based on a mainstream monthly salary of three thousand dollars, they could put away thirty-six thousand a year.

Which meant that in about three years, they could save enough.

At first glance, that still sounded outrageous.

But once people thought about the fact that it could guarantee their health for years or even decades to come, a lot of the emotional resistance in their hearts started to settle.

And besides, people still had credit cards and loans.

Even if they got sick before they had enough cash, they could always borrow in advance and get treated first.

For a while, this serum almost seemed flawless.

Some people were already dying for AIM to start offering on-site injections right then and there so they could get two shots immediately and satisfy the craving.

After all, according to AIM's beautiful vice president Lisa, even healthy people would see a full-body enhancement after receiving the Viral Antibody Serum.

"All right, everyone, please take a moment to calm down while we still have a little time."

"Trust me. What AIM is about to unveil next will bring you an even more direct and overwhelming shock."

"If our T-Series antiviral medicine pushes humanity toward physical perfection, then the next product will open an entirely new chapter in the technological age."

"From this moment forward, humanity will enter a new era."

"However, because the equipment we're about to demonstrate is extremely large, we can only select a small group of audience members on-site to go in and experience it up close."

"But there's no need for the rest of you to feel disappointed, because our live 3D virtual projection system will provide a one hundred percent real-time reconstruction. In fact, the visual angle you see may be even clearer and more intuitive than what they see in person."

"And now, I will be inviting thirty audience members to follow our hostesses and take a close-up look at the next product."

"Are you ready?!"

Before the crowd had even fully recovered from the last bombshell, Lisa threw out another one. With visible excitement, she spoke into the headset microphone in front of her and addressed the entire venue.

She was so worked up that a faint blush had even appeared on her originally pale cheeks.

But at that point, nobody cared what Lisa's face looked like anymore. Every person there was already completely absorbed in the fact that she had just announced an invention even more shocking than the T-Series antiviral medicine.

Having just experienced the mind-blowing idea that humanity might be on the verge of saying goodbye to disease itself, nobody could even imagine what kind of invention could possibly matter more to the human era than that.

Unless aliens were landing.

Or God Himself had appeared.

At that moment, everyone in the audience felt a little dazed and lightheaded.

"Me!"

"Me, me!!"

...

But dazed or not, the people on-site all raised their hands enthusiastically.

Some of them even jumped up and down to stand out more, because by AIM's usual standards, any chance to observe something up close was always worth it.

"All right then. Now I'll select a few at random."

"Let's start with this little guy, that handsome gentleman over there, and..."

Then, one lucky audience member after another was chosen by Lisa. Every selected person had a look of pure excitement written across their face.

"Yes, yes, yes! Ned, we got picked! Oh my God, I think Lady Luck is smiling at me."

"This is absolutely the luckiest moment of my life."

Among them, one blond little boy still in elementary school was practically incoherent with excitement as he shouted at the chubby kid who had been selected with him.

And just like the blond boy, the little boy named Ned was also so thrilled that his face had gone red and he could barely speak. In the end, the two of them were led away by staff members after being handed over by their parents.

"Peter, be good. Don't run around, okay?"

At that moment, as the little boy was about to leave with the staff, a man wearing gold-rimmed glasses looked at his son with a warm expression and gave him a gentle reminder. Beside him, a blond woman was also watching the child with loving eyes.

"Don't worry, Mom, Dad. I'll be really good. Just wait until you see me on the screen!"

Hearing his parents' words, Peter replied eagerly.

Then he immediately grabbed the chubby boy beside him and followed the staff inside.

"Whoa, Ned, this is so cool. Look at the thickness of this steel, and the entire structural layout. This is built completely to the standards of a top-tier biosecurity lab."

"My dad's workplace doesn't even have this."

Once they stepped into the elevator and saw the interior design and equipment, young Peter became like an excited little squirrel, nonstop talking to his friend about everything he noticed.

Even though he was still in elementary school, he had already done a lot of reading because of his strong interest in science.

At the very least, he was completely familiar with things like lab classifications and facility layout.

"Yeah, and these facial recognition systems too. Most companies are only just starting to use fingerprints, right?"

"This is insanely advanced."

"I guarantee AIM is the most sci-fi company I've ever visited."

Ned, who was also a gifted kid with a talent for science and physics, was just as amazed as Peter. Looking at all the futuristic technology in front of him, he couldn't help praising it sincerely.

Some of the adults traveling with them glanced over after hearing the two boys' excitement and gave them approving looks, but only for a moment before turning their attention back to their surroundings.

After all, even they had rarely seen technology like this before.

Who would believe that inside a descending elevator, you could look through the glass and see the underground structure outside? Or that inside the elevator, the normal floor buttons had been replaced by a transparent glass touchscreen, complete with an AI guide explaining the current process to the passengers?

Ding!

When the elevator finally arrived, everyone realized they had reached Basement Level Six. And looking out through the opening doors, they saw a corridor straight out of science fiction, with blue lights glowing along the edges to illuminate the underground laboratory.

Then, under staff guidance, the group walked for several minutes, passed through multiple security doors, and finally entered a massive laboratory.

And directly across from the entrance, the first thing that filled everyone's view was an enormous superstructure made of countless rectangular metal panels. Through the glass, it emitted a flickering reddish-pink glow as it continued operating.

"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!!!"

"What the hell... I know what that is... That's a superconducting tokamak device. Controlled nuclear fusion. But how is that possible?!"

"That should still be stuck in the theoretical stage."

"Even Stark Industries, the only company that has publicly claimed to achieve controlled fusion, has only managed to run one as a demonstration model. It definitely doesn't have an effect like this."

The moment he saw the giant machine in front of him, young Peter completely lost his composure. Excitedly grabbing Ned's arm with both hands, he blurted it all out in shock and disbelief.

A superconducting tokamak had long been recognized as the most effective path toward solving the engineering and physics problems behind future steady-state fusion reactors. So anyone with even a little knowledge of nuclear energy would understand immediately that this enormous machine had every sign of being a real fusion reactor.

And Peter wasn't the only one reacting that way.

At that very moment, thanks to the live feed, everyone outside saw the machine too.

Instantly, another explosion of disbelief swept through the minds of the audience.

This was controlled nuclear fusion, the so-called future king of human energy.

If this thing really existed, then humanity could fully break free from the shackles of energy limitations. No more dependence on nonrenewable resources like oil just to sustain modern civilization.

There had already been countless papers published by American scientific groups arguing that if controlled nuclear fusion were unlocked, humanity could generate endless electricity simply by using tritium sourced from seawater.

And deuterium was abundant in Earth's oceans, with reserves reaching forty trillion tons. If all of that were used for fusion reactions, the released energy would be enough to power humanity for billions of years.

Since the concept was first proposed in 1954, nearly fifty years had passed, and aside from Stark Industries building one that was mostly just for show, nobody had truly achieved this feat.

And now AIM had done it.

It was nothing short of a miracle.

In the United States alone, annual industrial electricity consumption had already reached astonishing levels.

And that was only industrial electricity. If residential power use across the whole country were added in, the number would multiply several times over.

And that was still just one nation's yearly profit potential.

For a controlled nuclear fusion reactor like AIM's, forget the value of the technology itself. Even if AIM merely offered to build the equipment in another country and asked that country to fund the construction, there would still be endless nations rushing to cooperate.

Because everyone understood the difference between a standard reactor and a controlled nuclear fusion reactor.

At that moment, every industry on Earth was thrown into turmoil by the footage.

Especially because AIM's vice president Lisa had already begun explaining the machine to the audience outside.

"As you can all see, this is the third product AIM is unveiling today: the Controlled Nuclear Fusion Reactor."

"Through the tireless efforts of our scientific team, AIM has finally succeeded in making controlled nuclear fusion a reality."

"Using tritium for power generation, its energy conversion efficiency reaches ten thousand, which means humanity will never again have to fear an energy crisis or insufficient electricity supply. We will no longer have to hesitate to turn on the heat during freezing winters, nor worry about electricity costs so much that we don't dare lower the air conditioner even one more degree in the middle of a scorching desert."

"With this technology, you could build an open-air air-conditioned shopping mall in the middle of the desert without ever worrying about wasting power."

"From today onward, everyone can use electricity freely, however they like. Turn on the AC whenever you want. Set it to whatever temperature you want."

"And starting today, we also officially announce that the electricity generated by AIM's Controlled Nuclear Fusion Reactor will be guaranteed to cost at least fifty percent less than the overall global market price."

"We solemnly promise that we will never force the public to spend an extra cent unfairly. Every citizen will be able to truly experience the enormous convenience brought by technological progress."

Once again, Lisa had roused the emotions of the entire audience with a few short lines.
