Darius stood across from Ava again.
"Try again," he said.
Ava groaned.
"I've been trying all morning."
"And failing because you are still thinking like a wolf," he replied.
Ava frowned.
"I am a wolf."
Darius shook his head.
"You are more than that."
He moved suddenly.
Ava reacted faster this time.
Silver light surged from her hands, stronger than before.
It hit Darius with enough force to push him back again.
He nodded approvingly.
"Better."
Ava's chest rose and fell quickly.
"This still feels out of control."
"It is," Darius said calmly.
"And it will remain that way until you accept what you are."
Ava hesitated.
"And what exactly am I?"
Darius looked at her steadily.
"You are the Moonborn."
