Ashton was all sweaty and panting when he got to the stone bench. Ryanne was nowhere to be seen.
He exclaimed a 'shit!' kicking the empty air.
Ashton:" I was late!", he said feeling disappointed in himself.
" Oh! You finally showed up." A familiar voice said.
He turned to his side to see Ryanne leaning against a pillar with two paper bags in her hand.
He walked over to her.
Ashton:" I'm sorry for keeping you waiting."
She turned her face away with a frown on it.
Ashton reached out to his pocket for the candies.
He waved it in front of her.
Ryanne:" I'll reconsider. Let's go."
They sat on the stone bench and she gave him one of the paper bags.
It was Milkshake and sandwich. He craving grew greatly.
Ashton beamed with a smile.
Ashton:" Thanks. I'm digging in."
Ryanne took hers out.
It was hot chocolate drink with hot dogs.
They were halfway through when it was break over.
Ashton:" Darrnn! I wasn't donee!"
Ryanne:" Just be quick with it."
Ashton nearly choked himself with the drink.
Ryanne laughed,
Ryanne:" Take it easy, Ashton. I can't carry you to the infirmary."
On their way to the classroom, Ryanne said to Ashton.
Ryanne:" About your project, I'll return your book to you once we get back to class."
Ashton:" That's okay"
Ryanne:" Do you need me to go with you to see Mr. Hills? I can own up for my crime."
Ashton:" Snap out of it, Ryanne. I've got you covered. Let's head back fast."
....
The next lesson was Perry's class, English. Given his relationship with his students, he was lenient with students who got to class few minutes after his arrival. After all, no student would miss his class no matter how fluent they are with the language.
Perry:" My actors and actresses,how is the preparation for the drama going,so far?"
Rhett,one of the actors, replied.
Rhett:" We're seeing progress"
Perry:"Is that so?"
Other characters nodded in agreement with Rhett.
Perry:" How about out main heads? The whole show is on you"
Bianca:" Everything is under control."
Perry:" Ashton?"
Ashton:" Still studying"
Perry:" Just a quick reminder and an update. The showcase is next Saturday and I've been informed it's gonna be a drama competition between your class, this class E and Class G, your rival. I've got my hopes for this class. So I suggest you channel all your energy into this drama."
Glenda:" What's the reward anyway?"
Perry:" Good question. The winning class is taking a three day trip to Springfield City."
" That's cool!" Some students exclaimed.
Perry:" Alright. Don't forget we'd be rehearsing right after school. Same place."
....
After English class, it was a free period.
Ashton whispered to Ryanne.
Ashton:" Heading to see Mr. Hills. Catch you later."
He took the project and left the class.
Mr. Hills was in the staff room when he got there.
Mr. Hills:" Perfect timing."
Ashton:" Here's my project. The books were mixed up."
Mr. Hills:" Heard you got injured."
Ashton:" Yes. Wel-"
Mr. Hills:" You need to finish your punishment."
Ashton:" Alright."
Mr. Hills:" Same conditions."
Ashton:" Thank you, Mr. Hills.
When Ashton got out of the staff room, he met Ryanne propped against the wall, arms crossed.
Ryanne:" How did it go?"
Ashton:" He accepted the book. But you didn't have to follow me. I told you it was alright.
Ryanne:" Incase you've forgotten, I'm to accompany you for a month."
Ashton:" Oh, yeah. Head to class I've got something to do."
Ryanne:" Completing your punishment, isn't it?"
Ashton:" Yeah, but-"
Ryanne:" No buts. If you get injured again I'd have to compensate you again. So I'd help you."
Ashton:" Alright, I'd lead the way."
....
School closes
Ashton has rehearsal and Ryanne received a call. Her contract official begins today.
She had to head to the studio before she goes home.
Ashton badly wants to follow her.
Especially regarding the fact that she had a partner.
He needed to draw a clear line between Ryanne and her partner.
He came up with a plan.
He called Ryanne,
Ashton:" Wait for me at the parking lot. I'd be there in 5 minutes. I promise."
Ashton went to the auditorium.
Bianca rushed towards him but he snobbed her.
He walked to Mr. Perry Anderson and whispered into his ear.
Perry nodded and Ashton smile and walked away.
