Theo resumed reading his book, trying to process what he was reading with no progress.
His eyes kept darting to the uncomfortable angle at which her neck hung on the arm of the chair… and the way the book was slowly sliding out of her grasp, seeming about to fall off her bosom… the way her hair fell in waves over her eyes, strands finding its way into her parted mouth.
As peaceful as she looked, she must be uncomfortable, he thought.
He could imagine the neck pain that such a sleeping posture would reap…
Should he wake her? Or let her be? He kept wondering.
Then he glanced at the tray he had brought which was untouched.
The tea was getting cold…
Sighing, Theodore poured himself a cup and returned his attention to the book.
As he took a sip from his cup, he stole a glance at her direction.
Just then, she moaned quietly as she slept.
