Chapter 89 - Leaving Something for This World

Cerydra and Hysilens had two tasks to complete in the Akame ga Kill World, and both were now fully accomplished.

Topple the corrupt Empire and establish their own Northern Empire.

Recruit at least five original characters as subordinates.

Neither of these was particularly difficult; as long as Cerydra set her mind to it, they could be resolved quickly. The Empire was not that hard to defeat, and five original characters were not that hard to find.

However, what troubled Cerydra was the future of the Northern Country. What would become of this world's future?

As she had said before, Cerydra did not focus all her attention on the Empire; instead, she thought about problems more from the perspective of the world.

How could she ensure that the Northern Empire survived for as long as possible?

This question had indeed troubled Cerydra for a long time, but after a certain person's figure flashed through her mind, she eventually gave up.

The dynastic cycle.

Perhaps in an otherworldly setting, the duration of this cycle would be very long, but in the end, the outcome remained the same.

Even a power as mighty as the Empire had only lasted for nearly a thousand years; it was impossible for anything to endure forever. By that same logic, Cerydra's Northern Empire would be no different.

Sooner or later, one day in the future, even the mighty Northern Empire would face decline and eventually exit the stage of history.

As the Empress of the Northern Country, Cerydra naturally had to leave behind wealth for her nation, as she currently possessed the power to do so.

But after all that wealth was exhausted, what would the people of the Akame ga Kill World do then?

From what Cerydra knew, most people in the Akame ga Kill World were not exactly "normal" humans.

Although their archetype was based on the Great Qin, they completely lacked the qualities that the Huaxia people should possess. Someone like a "Hanma Confucius" should really come and educate these people, letting them know the meaning of virtue and law!

"So, the last thing we must do before leaving this world is this..."

Cerydra led her loyal Chrysos Heirs to the newly established capital of the Northern Country.

Even though it was a newly built capital filled with a youthful and lively atmosphere, the expressions of the Chrysos Heirs were exceptionally solemn. This was because they had all received a piece of news at the same time.

Empress Cerydra of the Northern Country was about to leave this world!

The Northern Country had only just defeated the Empire and the Revolutionary Army; they had just stepped onto the world stage. These two events combined should have been a reason for greater joy.

The Chrysos Heirs had already made their plans. Under the leadership of Lady Imperator, the Northern Country's Army and the Chrysos Heirs would tread upon every corner of the globe, letting Imperator's fame spread across the world.

Eventually, the entire world would become Cerydra's backyard.

And after that, their goal would be the sea of stars, advancing toward the universe...

Everything was clearly moving in a good direction, so why did it turn out like this?

"Lady Imperator, we'll go call for a doctor! We will surely find a way to heal you!"

Some of the Chrysos Heirs had already begun to sob. It wasn't easy to encounter a wise monarch who allowed them to utilize their talents, only for that monarch to die young in the end... No one could accept such an outcome.

Especially Esdeath!

Among all the Chrysos Heirs, it was Esdeath who felt the most dissatisfaction toward this situation.

"No, there is no need!"

"I am not sick; this is merely the price for using Divine Power..."

Cerydra chose not to reveal the truth. After all, the System was not something that could be disclosed at will, so Cerydra and Hysilens explained this matter as the cost of using Divine Power.

If Divine Power was used excessively, one would gradually vanish from the world, just like Cerydra and Hysilens.

This also perfectly explained why they had to leave this world... Giving a companion a well-intentioned lie was better than telling her the cold, bloody reality.

After all, it was impossible for Cerydra and Hysilens to ever return to this world!

"Follow me!"

"Witness the final moment of Empress Cerydra of the Northern Country!"

Cerydra walked at the very front of the Chrysos Heirs, with Hysilens following close behind. Behind them were Cerydra's closest Chrysos Heirs.

At this time, no one dared to utter a single word. Everyone fixed their gaze on Cerydra, waiting for the Empress's next instructions.

Everyone moved forward, step by step...

Cerydra had discovered a bug in the System; it was something she found while using her Authority of Law.

As long as the corresponding price was paid, the power of the Demigod of Law could be exchanged for anything, provided it did not exceed the limits of this world.

Upon leaving this world, everything she had gained previously would disappear, as she would transform into the next two characters for Roleplay.

And the bug happened exactly there...

If Cerydra used the power of the two Demigods as a price to rewrite a certain rule of the Akame ga Kill World before leaving, then after she left the world, wouldn't the price be considered fully paid?

The answer was: yes!

Cerydra could absolutely exploit this bug. By doing so, she could give everyone in the Akame ga Kill World a clear and distinct gift.

"These days spent with you all have allowed my Conquest to continue. I have been very happy; these have been the happiest days of my life!"

Cerydra turned around. The gaze filled with majesty had long since vanished, replaced by a rare look of tenderness.

Her eyes swept over every Chrysos Heir present, as if she wanted to engrave their faces into her heart.

"So do not cry. Even if I am gone, the spirit of the Northern Country will continue to be passed down. Even if the Northern Country meets its fated end in the distant future, our spirit will still be inherited by future generations, just as I am handing everything over to you now."

"Esdeath..."

"I'm here!" As if she had realized something, Esdeath suddenly widened her tear-filled eyes, staring straight at Cerydra and Hysilens—the two women who had such a profound impact on her life. "Is there anything else you need me to do? I will surely make it happen for you!"

"...From now on, you are the Empress of the entire Northern Country!"

"You must guard everything of the Northern Country well and pass down my Conquest forever!"

"I surely will!"

As those words were spoken, a satisfied smile finally appeared on Cerydra's face. After the war ended, she had spent a lot of time coaxing Esdeath, which was why the other woman wasn't wearing a sorrowful expression.

However, it seemed Esdeath didn't intend to think that way?

"I will follow your path of conquest and walk through this world forever! Please, witness my everything!"

"I leave the Northern Country to you."

"Do your best!"

Cerydra's and Hysilens's bodies were gradually disappearing. Right at this moment of imminent disappearance, an unprecedentedly powerful force erupted from the two of them.

The Demigod of Law and the Demigod of Ocean—two Demigods had chosen to sacrifice themselves at the same time to engrave their own Laws upon the world...
