Koa did not hesitate.
He wades directly into water and caught Lexianna just as her head slipped beneath the surface, hauling her unconscious body up against his chest.
He glanced back at the massive form of the Wolf Prince, who was currently floating in the polluted water, entirely dead to the world. Koa clicked his tongue.
"Guards," Koa commanded, his voice slicing through the heavy steam.
The shadows near the shattered balcony doors wavered. Two battered Shadow Guards materialized, looking entirely unsure of whether to attack the Serpent King or obey him.
"Fish your master out of this filth," Koa ordered, turning his back on them. "Clean him and put him in his bed. If he stays in this water, the toxins will seep back into his pores."
