The loud crack echoed through the forest. The four friends froze in fear.
"W-what was that?" Maya whispered.
Arjun tried to stay calm. "Probably just a tree branch falling."
But deep inside, even he didn't believe his own words.
Suddenly, Ravi's flashlight started flickering. The light went on and off again and again.
"Hey! My flashlight is not working properly!" Ravi said nervously.
Kabir pointed toward the darkness ahead. "Guys… look there."
Far between the trees, they saw something strange.
A tall shadow slowly moved behind the trees.
It did not look like a human.
The friends held their breath. The forest became silent again.
Then the shadow stopped.
For a moment, nothing happened.
And suddenly…
Two glowing eyes appeared in the darkness.
Maya grabbed Arjun's arm tightly. "We should go back… right now."
But before they could move, the wind started blowing very strongly. The trees began shaking wildly.
The glowing eyes slowly moved closer.
Step…
Step…
Step…
Whatever it was… it was coming toward them.
Ravi whispered with fear, "Run… RUN!"
The four friends immediately started running deeper into the forest without even looking back.
But they didn't realize one terrifying thing…
They were running in the wrong direction.
