Dark City. Just as the name implied, for some unknown reason, the entire city gave off a gloomy, oppressive vibe. Sensing the hostile atmosphere, Ash and Lara—both formidable fighters in their own right—immediately prepped their weapons. Ash slipped on his brass knuckles, while Lara adjusted her blade so it could be drawn at a moment's notice.
Brock looked at the ruined, dilapidated cityscape and said strangely, "This is Dark City, but it feels more like a town, right? Isn't it way too run-down?"
Pikachu, sitting on Ash's shoulder, looked at the ruined town and shook his head.
"Pika Pi." (Looks like they don't even have our Los Pollos Hermanos here.)
"Lucky." (Looks like people fight here a lot.)
Chansey came to a conclusion after looking at the damaged wooden houses around them.
Meowth scanned their surroundings and said, "Boss, someone is watching us. Up on the roof."
"Got it. Misty, Suzie, stay close to Lara and me. If anyone attacks, we'll teach them a lesson. Pikachu, be ready to shock someone at any moment. Chansey, keep an eye on the sky. Psyduck, be ready to help protect them."
Seeing Ash and Lara forming a protective circle around Misty and Suzie, Brock pointed at himself and asked, "What about me?"
"A man has to protect himself. Besides, don't you have Geodude and the others?"
"Oh, right!"
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Mid-conversation, three stones were hurled at Ash and the group. However, Ash punched all three stones out of the air, shattering them mid-flight.
"Pikachu, use Thundershock!"
"Pika~ CHU!!"
Pinpointing the attackers' direction, Pikachu immediately unleashed a Thundershock. Of course, he held back the power, but the yellow electricity still gave the three ambushers a very warm, tingly greeting from Pikachu.
"Waaaaahhh!!"
Three kids fell off the roof. Seeing that the attackers were just children, Ash adjusted his brass knuckles, his eyes glowing red as he glared at them.
"To think you'd ambush us. Looks like you're prepared enemies. Meowth, get the extra-large syringe and the saline solution ready. I'm going to show these brats the consequences of attacking people."
"Pika?" (Isn't that a bit too cruel?!)
"Boss, are you sure?"
Hearing Ash ask for the extra-large syringe, Meowth shivered. Ash nodded and said, "Absolutely. Brats who attack people for no reason need their worldviews forcefully realigned."
Meowth then pulled a massive syringe out of his bag and attached an equally massive needle to it.
"Here you go, Boss."
"Excellent! Now, be good and stick your little butts out. I'm going to make sure you remember this lesson!"
The three kids watched Ash approach with the thick, terrifying syringe, completely terrified. But their bodies were still numb from the electricity, so they couldn't run.
Misty watched Ash with a bit of pity and said, "Isn't this going too far?"
"You're just too kind-hearted, Misty. Proper values need to be established from a young age. Today they use rocks to attack people; tomorrow they might use Pokémon! Right now, I'm teaching them how to be good kids."
Suzie looked at the syringe in Ash's hand and sighed helplessly. "But that syringe is clearly meant for a Rhyhorn..."
Lara was even more direct: "You're just taking revenge on them for throwing rocks at us, aren't you?"
"Hah! You guys are too smart. That's right, it's revenge! Chansey, hold them down! It's injection time!"
"Lucky!" (Got it!)
Staring at the giant syringe in Ash's hand, the three kids finally let out screams of absolute despair.
"Stay away from us!!! Ahhhh!!!"
On that day, the countless children of Dark City learned a very important lesson: You must be a good person! Otherwise, a demon wearing a hat will come and give your butt an injection. Three brave boys had sacrificed their own ass to bring back this terrifying warning.
And from then on, the residents of Dark City had a new way to frighten their children into behaving:
"If you don't listen, the Injection Demon will come for you!"
Well, perhaps this legend will continue to be passed down forever...
