One night I was studying in my room. It was almost midnight and the whole house was very quiet. Suddenly, I heard a strange sound coming from the kitchen. At first, I thought it was just the wind, so I ignored it.
After a few minutes, the sound came again. This time it was louder. I started to feel a little scared. My parents were sleeping, so I decided to check it myself.
Slowly and quietly, I walked toward the kitchen. My heart was beating very fast. When I reached the door, I saw that the light was flickering. The strange sound was still coming from inside.
I gathered my courage and opened the door slowly. Suddenly, something moved near the table. I got very frightened and almost shouted.
But when I looked carefully, I started laughing. The "mystery" was just our pet cat playing with a steel bowl on the floor. The bowl was rolling and making that strange noise.
I went back to my room feeling relieved. That night I learned that sometimes our imagination makes small things look very scary.
