Chapter 11 - Small Can Be Cute Too

[Relationship Established — Current Trust Level: 2]

[Relationship Established — Current Trust Level: 2]

Seeing that both trust levels had reached Level 2, Makoto nodded inwardly. All the effort he had spent disguising himself as bait to lure them in had not been in vain.

In his opinion, Trust Levels were quite difficult to raise. They probably required time to accumulate gradually. If they had only been at Level 1, the early rewards would have been much lower.

[Two disciples with S-rank or higher potential detected. Skill obtained: Teaching]

[Teaching: Knowledge you impart is absorbed more easily.]

It was an extremely simple and straightforward skill, yet very powerful—it directly increased the effectiveness of teaching.

Makoto tested it and discovered that it was a toggleable passive skill.

Of course, since it had no downside, he naturally kept it turned on. Unless one day Danzo Shimura noticed how well he taught and asked him to go teach in Root, in which case he would definitely switch it off.

The only thing that disappointed Makoto was that the disciple reward return count had not increased with the number of disciples. It was still limited to one opportunity per day.

Originally, he had imagined that cooking for Shisui once had yielded 50 Chakra, so if he cooked for all three disciples every day, he could gain at least 150 Chakra daily. That would have been far faster than earning rewards from classes.

Clearly, he had been thinking too optimistically.

Still, having three disciples was better than just one, even if the reward trigger was still once per day.

Human emotions had thresholds. With repeated stimulation, that threshold gradually increased, making it harder to trigger a big reward.

But with three people, he could rotate targets to "trigger rewards." Not only would this increase the chances of hitting a big reward, it would also slow down the growth of that emotional threshold.

"Besides, the current growth rate isn't bad," Makoto thought as he glanced at his status panel.

Name: Hosokawa Makoto

Age: 18

Chakra: 4405

Skills: Fire Release: Dragon Flame Technique, Water Release: Water Formation Wall, Wind Release: Pressure Damage, Teaching…

Compared to when he had first transmigrated, Makoto had gained 105 Chakra in total.

90 points came from teaching classes and disciple reward returns.

The remaining 15 points came from his own training and feedback gained from disciples' cultivation.

This was only the result of five days.

Most of Makoto's rewards had been various ninjutsu.

If he focused entirely on farming Chakra rewards, just teaching classes alone would guarantee at least 100 Chakra per week, not even counting disciple reward returns.

However, Makoto believed that at this stage it was better to farm A-rank rewards, or a mix of A and B rank.

The ninjutsu rewarded by the system were instantly mastered.

Not merely learned at a basic level—but fully mastered to combat proficiency.

If it was a ninjutsu of an element he had not yet mastered, the reward even included the corresponding Chakra Nature Transformation. If he received duplicates, they simply increased proficiency.

It was incredibly convenient.

If he had to practice those techniques himself, it would consume a huge amount of time, and even figuring out the proper training method would be troublesome.

Still, once he had a wider arsenal of techniques, Makoto believed he should prioritize increasing Chakra, since Chakra was the true foundation of a shinobi.

"Sensei, I'm done!"

Eager to learn a new ninjutsu, Obito Uchiha had completed his test paper with 120% effort.

"I'm finished too!" Might Guy  reported, unwilling to fall behind.

"Two at the same time, huh…"

Makoto felt fortunate that this was the world of ninja—clone techniques were extremely common.

"Shadow Clone Technique!"

He formed hand seals and instantly created a Shadow Clone.

Since Obito was learning ninjutsu while Guy focused on taijutsu, Makoto couldn't teach them simultaneously. A Shadow Clone solved the problem.

His plan was simple:

Main body: teach Obito ninjutsu

Shadow Clone: guide Guy in taijutsu

After half an hour, they would switch.

The main body would go teach Guy, while the clone instructed Obito.

Makoto had no intention of becoming just one student's personal mentor.

He intended to share his warmth with every disciple equally.

Just as he had done when teaching Shisui Uchiha, Makoto carefully broke down the technique step by step, practically guiding them hand in hand.

[You have taught your disciple Fire Release: Dragon Flame Technique.]

[Disciple's gratitude triggered a reward critical hit.]

[Reward: Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique (Proficient).]

Makoto fell into thought.

He remembered that he had also taught Shisui the Dragon Flame Technique before. Why hadn't that triggered a reward then?

Soon he realized the likely reason.

His Dragon Flame Technique had originally dropped from Shisui.

Perhaps rewards obtained from a disciple could not be reused on that same disciple to trigger further reward returns.

Makoto silently recorded this hidden rule.

"Please don't be that ridiculous forty-four hand seal version of Water Dragon Bullet," Makoto complained inwardly, recalling the scene of Kakashi Hatake and Zabuza Momochi performing the technique.

It might look cool in anime when two people perform endless hand seals facing each other.

But in reality, any ninjutsu requiring that many seals would be nearly impossible to use in battle unless someone else restrained the enemy for you.

Fortunately, the system's Proficient level did not disappoint.

Makoto only needed six hand seals.

And with further practice, the seals could be reduced even more.

After teaching Obito for half an hour, Makoto moved to Might Guy , giving him guidance while the Shadow Clone continued instructing Obito.

After both were taught, he also went to check on Shisui, constantly moving between the three students.

At noon, Makoto personally went down to the river and caught four fish, then started a fire and roasted them.

Each person got one fish for lunch.

"This is delicious! Makoto-sensei, if you opened a barbecue shop it would definitely be popular," Obito said while eating.

Shisui and Guy both nodded in agreement.

"Be careful with the fish bones," Makoto said with a smile.

Was it really that delicious?

Makoto suspected it was actually quite ordinary, since he rarely grilled food and didn't have much skill at it.

The real reason it tasted good was probably the atmosphere.

Shisui usually ate alone at home.

Obito normally ate only with his grandmother.

Guy ate with his father.

It was rare for them to eat together outdoors like this.

Combined with the novelty of freshly grilled fish, the ordinary meal ended up tasting much better.

After lunch, they rested for an hour before resuming training.

"This ninjutsu isn't that hard after all."

Obito looked proudly at the round, chubby fire dragon he had produced.

Compared to when he struggled with the Great Fireball Technique, this felt much smoother.

Coincidentally, Shisui was also practicing the Dragon Flame Technique nearby.

He exhaled a fierce fire dragon, its jaws wide with sharp fangs, radiating a terrifying presence.

Obito silently moved his cute little fire dragon behind himself.

At that moment, Might Guy , who had just finished countless Leaf Whirlwinds, wiped his sweat and happened to witness the scene.

Perhaps because of the camaraderie they had built that morning, Guy walked over and comforted him.

"It's okay. A small fire dragon is cute too. One day it'll become as powerful as Makoto-sensei's."

Although it was meant as encouragement, for some reason Obito felt an indescribable sense of frustration.

The feeling made him extremely uncomfortable.

Instead of resting, Obito suddenly became full of energy and resumed training the Dragon Flame Technique.

Seeing Obito so fired up, Guy also refused to slack off. After a short break, he quickly returned to training.

Watching from the side, Makoto struggled to keep a straight face.

"These two actually make quite the pair…"

There was definitely something special about putting Obito and Guy together.

They trained until dinner time, after which Makoto sent them home and told them to return the next day.

On Sunday, they trained for another full day.

That day, the disciple reward return yielded 50 Chakra.

Then, a new week began…
