JESSICA'S POV
We were at the mall already, though it took us a little while to get here. But i guess that's what you get for wanting to go shopping and following your crush who is also neighbour .
"So. . . . i started as l looked through the 'what-to-buy-list' on my hand.
"These are the one's we've bought", I said pointing to the highlighted one's we bought earlier, Alex turned and nodded in agreement.
Although most times I believe he didn't know which one exactly we bought he seemed like he was distracted at the market like he hadn't seen so many stuffs there.
"Okay. . . .let's buy the rest and head home" I told him as we finally entered he mall and started buying.
"Yeah, shopping at this town is actually stressful " Alex said as we entered the mall.
^ ~ ^ ~ ^ ~ ^ ~ ^
"Jess!" someone from behind shouted.
We had already finished buying and we were outside the mall. We were heading home when someone from behind us called my name, the surprising thing is that it didn't seem like Katie's voice.
So. . . .who else in this town would call my name like we were close friends or something.
I instinctively turned around and saw ____ seriously?, of all people i could run into right now.
𝑰𝒕 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒍𝒚 𝒉𝒂𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒓, 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒔.
"Hi" I said forcing a smile as she reached where we both stood
"Awwwn, Jess you look good" she said.
I smiled along and responded, more of a murmured response.
" Yeah, I do" I said looking down.
Being with this girl have always been uncomfortable for me.
"So. . . .aren't you going to introduce me? She mumbled quietly to me.
I turned to look at Alex who just stood looking at us both.
𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖? '𝑪𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒆'𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒐𝒓 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕?
This girl is really funny.
"Oh, this is Alex my friend who is also my neighbour"
"And alex this is. . . . .?"
"Fave"she responded stretching her hand out for Alex.
"Nice to meet you fave"
"Same"
"So. . . . .are you and Katrina still in touch ? "she asked me. We had already started walking home.
" Yeah, of course" I answered in a "obviously" way.
Why would me and katie not keep in touch?. Fave is our somewhat childhood friend. Well technically she's more of Katie's friend, we are not really close, I guess that explains me not knowing her name earlier.
She used to live in this town with us until recently when she moved with her family to. . . . . , I guess i really don't know anything about her. And I don't really have a clear reason for disliking her so much, but there's something about her vibe, her presence that i don't like or enjoy being around.
She's more closer with katie than, though i wonder why she came back. And now she's asking me if am still friends with my best friend. Who asks that?.
"Okay, that's good" she said drifting me away from my thoughts. "Am actually heading there right now".
" Oh. . . .Okay"
"So. . . .we are friends?, huh?" Alex asked. Fave had already parted ways with us she went to Katie's house.
I couldn't really fathom if Alex was happy or not. I didn't even look at him when he asked, but when he asked it almost seemed like he was trying to hide his amusement or something of sort.
"Hmmm" I said smiling, "Well I guess after all the shopping and all, we deserve to be friends. Don't you think so?" I asked him.
I never even thought about us defining our friendship or anything, I just really enjoyed his company.
"Yeah, that's fair"He repiled smiling.
It felt. . . . . good?, yeah good knowing we just confirmed our beautiful friendship.
^ ~ ^ ~ ^ ~ ^
"You don't like her do you?" we were already two blocks to our house.
I was surprised by his question, who was he talking about?.
"Like who?" I asked.
"Fave" Alex said . I laughed lightly.
"Oh, Fave, why did you say that?" I asked Alex, did i really seem so obvious. I mean i don't like her but was it so obvious that Alex noticed it?. Most times even Katie behaved so oblivious that she didn't realize immediately.
"It seemed obvious, at least to me"
"Obvious?"
"Yeah, I mean when introducing me to her you couldn't remember her name" Alex replied.
"Well. . . . that doesn't guarantee anything " I said, there was no point denying it though, but i just need to know what makes him so certain that i don't like her.
"And your movements felt. . . . .stiff?" Alex said or rather asked, then continued.
"Yeah, it felt stiff like the conversation was not something you enjoyed doing.
And oh less i forget, you didn't seem rather happy to see a friend who isn't staying here" Alex finished.
Wow!, so thorough, i didn't even realize that the conversation asoect was obvious.
"Woah, that's so. . . ."
"Thorough " Alex completed smiling.
"How did you. . . .?"
"Am really observant "
"Yeah, you are"
