Every day hundreds of people die; some of them die of old age, others are murdered, others commit suicide and others die in strange ways. There are millions of things that can lead a person to his death, so it isn't strange if so many people die every day; even after all these deaths the Earth will continue to turn, the Sun will continue to rise and people will continue to live happily ignoring everything; we don't need to be ashamed of this, it's normal to ignore people we don't even know and continue with our lives, I'm just asking myself: how do people who die feel to be remembered only by a small part of the Earth's population?
Well, today I am one of the people who died, one of the hundreds of people who dies every day.
"Mine was really a meaningless life, wasn't it?"
I asked to my interlocutor, the woman who introduced herself as a goddess.
"Well, it wasn't the greatest life I've ever seen..."
She answered. She was a beautiful woman with brown hair that reached down to her feet, brown eyes and and a long purple dress. From her appearance I would have said that she was on her twenties but she was probably older, after all she was a goddess.
"How did I die?" I asked
"While you were sleeping a shooting star fell on top of your bed."
Ugh! What a stupid to die...

The place really was strange, I was seated on an uncomfortable stool and everything around me was white; the goddess was comfortably seated on her throne while looking down on me.
"This is neither heaven nor hell, this is a place where you can choose what to do next" she said calmly.
"Is there anything after death?"
"Obviously, you can choose to go to heaven or you can decide to reincarnate in another world; there are two type of reincarnation: with the first you will reincarnate as a baby without your memory in a casual world, with the second you will be sent to a fantasy world with a special weapon or power "
Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait, what?! That was the dream of every Otaku! When you go to a fantasy world, you will obtain an overpowered ability, you will become super cool and you will find your personal harem!
"I want to be send to another world!!!" I shouted.
Even after my sudden shout, the goddess stood completely calm, as she had seen this scene thousand of time before, and said "well, you will be sent to world with a low number of humans. To decide your power wile will use this wheel" and she indicated a battered wheel appeared by nowhere.
"Will you decide my power with that?" I asked perplexed.
"Admire, boy! This the divine wheel of fortune!
Even if it's a bit old, just two or three millions of years, it works perfectly" she said enthusiastic.
"So, the wheel will give me an overpowered ability, right?"
"Not necessarily, one time it gave a normal fishing rod to a girl as a weapon"
What?! I will never survive in a fantasy world with just a fishing rod!
While I was praying for a decent weapon or power, the goddess spinned the wheel.
"Oh, it seems you are lucky, you obtained a special sword" she said after the wheel stopped.
Did she say a special sword? Maybe it is my overpowered ability!
She game the sword: it was a katana with a black scabbard.
"This an indestructible katana that will always remain attached to your body" she started to explain
"Cool!" I said
"But" she continued "it has some disadvantages: it will always be rusty, and you can't touch other weapons"
"Eh? Wait a minu-"
"Goodbye" she said and she snapped her fingers, the moment after I was in a green glade.
"Good grief" I said while I started to walk "I need to search for a village or a city"
After some minutes I thought "maybe I should change my name, a Japanese name is too conspicuous "
I walked for some hours, I was hungry and thirsty, it was dark and I was tired. There was a woodland, but I thought that encamping here was a bad idea, it was too dangerous. In that moment I saw a big cave and I thought that that was a perfect place where to sleep. I entered into the cave and I started searching for a comfortable spot. When I finally found it, I heard a roar right behind me. I turned around. In front of me was a giant lion with a silver fur. I tried to extract my sword from its scabbard but it was faster than me, it moved it's foot and made my head fly away.
The last thing I saw was the silver lion roaring.
"What a meaningless life..." I thought.
Then everything became black.
I suddenly got up in a green glade, it was night.
I heard the voice of the goddess in my head "Hello! How do you feel?"
