Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Awkwardness

Students don't get assigned to teams immediately after graduating from the Ninja Academy; instead, they have a few days to prepare. Since Naruto only qualified for graduation in the evening, he left home early in the morning to fill out his Ninja registration form. Yuta, having nothing to do, went to a training ground outside the village by himself.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

From a distance, Yuta could hear sounds coming from the training ground. As he walked in and saw a familiar figure, Yuta greeted, "Lee, so early."

"Ah, it's Yuta." Rock Lee stopped kicking the tree and turned around, revealing his characteristic prominent front teeth.

"Yeah, I'm bored, so I came to train some Ninjutsu." After exchanging greetings, Yuta quickly moved away from Rock Lee and ran to a corner of the training ground. Otherwise, Rock Lee would definitely ask Yuta for help with his training halfway through.

Yuta, who had trained with this passionate youth once, never wanted to try it a second time.

"Wind Release: Wind Cutter."

"Swish!"

An invisible wind blade cut towards a tree as thick as three people embracing it. With a muffled thud, a five-centimeter deep crack appeared on the tree.

Although its power couldn't compare to the Water Dragon Bullet Jutsu, Wind Cutter excelled in its low chakra consumption and much simpler hand signs, making it a very suitable Ninjutsu for combat.

All morning, Yuta had been training simple, basic Ninjutsu. The thick tree in front of him was already covered in scars. After collecting the scattered shuriken and Kunai on the ground, Yuta called out to Rock Lee, who was still doing physical training: "Lee, do you want to go get something to eat? My treat."

"No, thank you for the offer, but I haven't finished my physical training yet," Rock Lee politely declined.

"Alright then, don't train too hard, or you'll break a bone like last time," Yuta said with a shrug as he left.

Walking along the Konoha Village snack street, Yuta hesitated. There was a lot of delicious food, but he didn't have much money. Shuriken, Kunai, scrolls, and other items were all very expensive. Moreover, there was a fox that always clamored for sweets, which was also a significant expense. Currently, Yuta and Naruto couldn't accept missions, so they could only earn money by selling fish.

"Yuta." A surprised voice rang out.

Yuta turned to look at Hyuga Nao, who was standing at the entrance of a barbecue restaurant: "I rarely see you eating this kind of food."

"Hehe, what are you going to do?" Hyuga Nao ran over and hooked her arm around Yuta's. Unlike Hyuga Hinata, who liked Naruto, Nao never hid her feelings.

With Nao's arm around his, Yuta awkwardly said, "I just finished training and was looking for something to eat."

"Then come eat barbecue! Someone's treating," Nao said.

"If someone's treating…" Hearing that someone was treating, Yuta hesitated. A free barbecue meal was undoubtedly very tempting, but given his popularity in the village, suddenly joining someone else's meal might cause displeasure.

"Alright, stop thinking, let's go!" Nao forcefully dragged Yuta into the barbecue restaurant.

"Nao, where did you go?"

Just as they entered the barbecue restaurant, before he could clearly see the situation inside, a woman's questioning voice rang out.

Yuta turned to look, and couldn't help but stiffen. For no other reason than that no one would be completely unphased by dozens of Byakugan Ninja staring at them.

"Na… Nao, let's just forget it. I suddenly feel like eating something vegetarian," Yuta said, stiffly turning around to try and leave. No wonder there were no other customers in the barbecue restaurant; it had been reserved by the Hyuga Clan. However, as a prominent clan, the Hyuga Clan also maintained their arrogance. It was almost impossible to see high-ranking members of the Hyuga Clan eating in such a place. What was going on today?

"Nao, is the boy next to you Uzumaki Yuta?" The dignified man sitting at the head of the table suddenly spoke.

"Yes, Clan Head-sama!" Nao forcefully dragged Yuta to the dining table.

"Gulp." Feeling dozens of gazes like needle points, Yuta swallowed with difficulty: "Greetings, Hyuga Clan Head, I am Uzumaki Yuta."

"Hmm, since you're already here, stay and eat something," Hyuga Hiashi said unexpectedly.

"Eh, can… can I really?" Yuta was a bit confused about what Hiashi was thinking. No matter how he looked at it, this situation seemed to be a small gathering of the Hyuga Clan, and there was no reason for him, an outsider, to be here.

"Come on, come on!" Nao wouldn't pay attention to any of that. Moreover, she had already received Hiashi's approval. She directly dragged Yuta to the farthest position from Hiashi, where several children slightly younger than Yuta were chatting.

"Eat this! This meat was bought from farmers in the Land of Lightning. You usually can't get it!"

As soon as they sat down, Nao began putting meat into Yuta's bowl.

"Yuta-kun, may I ask what Naruto-kun is doing now?" Hinata, next to him, asked softly, blushing.

"Oh, it's Hinata. My brother should be filling out his Ninja registration form. You probably don't know yet, but my brother somehow passed Iruka-sensei's test last night," Yuta said with a smile. Yuta had a very good impression of Hinata, the girl who had always liked Naruto.

"Really?" Hinata covered her mouth in surprise. Since Naruto had passed the test, she now had a chance to be in the same team as him.

Hearing the conversation between Yuta and the others, Hyuga Hiashi looked at Yuta with complex eyes. Act! Keep acting for me!

To find the stolen Scroll of Seals, Ninja from the Hyuga Clan with their Byakugan were the best choice. Some Chunin from the main family naturally participated in the search for the Scroll of Seals and saw Naruto's hundreds of Shadow Clones, and even saw the entire process of how Yuta dealt with Mizuki afterwards.

"His bloodline isn't pure, yet he can use Adamantine Sealing Chains. And according to reports from clan members at the training ground, Yuta can already simply use the power of the Nine-Tailed," Hiashi looked at Yuta expressionlessly. As the head of the family, Hiashi was somewhat unable to understand this twelve-year-old boy.

With the Adamantine Sealing Chains, Yuta was fully capable of easily subduing a fully powered Mizuki. If that was the case, he still sat in the tree watching the show while Naruto was in danger and Iruka was injured. This implied that Yuta knew Mizuki's plan all along. The most likely reason for his silence was that he wanted Naruto to learn some Ninjutsu from the Scroll of Seals.

"Third Elder, your granddaughter seems to be very fond of Uzumaki Yuta. What do you think?" Hiashi asked the old man next to him, who was happily savoring his wine.

"Clan Head-sama, in my opinion, it's best to let nature take its course. Little Nao's freedom to like whoever she wants. I, an old man, won't interfere," Hyuga Ling said with a chuckle, appearing like an elder without any prejudice against different families.

"Old fox," Hiashi cursed in his heart. Hiashi didn't believe that Hyuga Ling was unaware of Yuta's talent and potential, which was far superior to Naruto, whom his daughter liked.

"Forget it. Uzumaki Naruto also has some influence behind him. It wouldn't be bad if Hinata could really form some kind of relationship with him, but it still depends on Uzumaki Naruto's future achievements." Hiashi kept calculating in his heart. Hinata was never highly regarded by Hyuga Hiashi. As the eldest daughter of the main family's clan head, she couldn't even skillfully use the Hyuga Clan's Gentle Fist and even lost to Hanabi, who was five years younger than her, in a fight. This time, her team assignment even had Kurenai Yuhi, who specialized in genjutsu, as her sensei. Hiashi had completely lost faith in Hinata.

Although the Fourth Hokage was already dead, the influence he left behind was still not to be underestimated. The Third Hokage, Jiraiya, Tsunade, Kakashi, and other excellent Ninja, and he himself was the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki. He was worth observing for the time being.
