12:05 PM

The countdown continued.

00:04:30

Across the world, a second black window appeared before every human being, manifesting silently in the air as if reality itself had been overwritten once again.

White text slowly formed across its surface.

Confusion spread instantly.

"Classes…?"

"Is this some kind of game?!"

"What are we supposed to do?!"

Across cities, towns, and villages, billions stared helplessly at the same message, forced to make a choice they didn't understand.

The countdown continued.

00:04:21

Chennai, India

Inside the campus of medical institute, panic had already taken hold.

Students rushed through corridors, voices overlapping in fear and confusion. Some sprinted toward the edges of the newly formed barrier surrounding the city.

They tried everything.

Chairs. Metal rods. Stones.

Every attempt ended the same way.

The invisible wall didn't even tremble.

Then another notification appeared.

[SYSTEM NOTICE]

CURRENT BARRIER RADIUS: 1 KM

Humans are restricted within this zone

Barrier Expansion Pattern:

1 KM -> 4 KM -> 8 KM -> 16 KM -> …

Explore. Survive. Advance.

The message vanished.

A heavy silence followed.

"So… we're trapped?" someone whispered.

"No… this can't be real…"

But reality didn't need their acceptance.

It had already locked them in.

Groups began to form instinctively. Fear drove people together. No one wanted to face whatever was coming alone. Others continued testing the barrier in desperation, refusing to believe there was no way out.

Amid all of it,

One person stood still.

Aarav. His slightly messy black hair falling over his forehead as he stared at the floating system window. His white lab coat hung loosely over his lean, athletic frame, the sleeves rolled up from a long morning in the dissection hall. His sharp jawline tightened as he read the system message again.

His breathing was uneven, but his eyes were focused. Not on the chaos, but on the system window in front of him.

Slowly, he opened his bag.

Inside, partially hidden,

The gun.

Cold metal caught the light for a brief second.

Real,solid,wrong.

His fingers hovered over it, as if even touching it too long would make everything worse.

"This… isn't normal…" he muttered under his breath.

"Aarav!" A voice from distant.

He turned.

Rohan and Pranav pushed through the crowd toward him, both visibly shaken.

"Did you see the class window?" Rohan asked, slightly out of breath. "People are already choosing!"

Pranav nodded. "This whole thing feels insane…"

Aarav glanced around quickly before pulling them slightly aside.

"Don't react," he said quietly.

Rohan frowned. "What are you.."

Aarav opened his bag just enough.

Both of them froze.

For a moment, neither spoke.

Pranav's voice came out as a whisper.

"…What the hell is that?"

Rohan stared, his expression tightening. "Where did you get it?"

"It appeared," Aarav replied. "After I accepted the system message."

Silence settled between them.

Understanding followed.

"Are you special or something?…" Rohan said slowly.

"I don't know but Ithink so," Aarav answered, his voice low. "But listen, this stays between us."

"Why?" Rohan asked immediately.

Aarav's gaze hardened slightly.

"Because the moment people see this, panic turns into something worse."

Pranav swallowed. "And someone's going to try taking it."

That was enough. Neither of them argued.

After a moment, Rohan exhaled and looked back at the floating window.

"…So what class are you choosing?"

Aarav followed his gaze.

Four options hovered before him.

Warrior.

Archer.

Tank.

Assassin.

He thought carefully.

He wasn't the strongest.

Didn't have the build for direct combat.

But speed,

Speed meant distance.

Distance meant survival.

His finger moved.

Assassin.

The system responded instantly.

CLASS CONFIRMED

Assassin

Starter Weapon: Basic Dagger

Bonus: +2 Speed

A new message appeared.

Analyzing Individual Attributes…

A brief pause. Then,

Name: Aarav

Class: Assassin

Starter Equipment: Basic Dagger, Basic Pistol

Skill: None

Stats:

Strength - 2

Dexterity - 4 (+2)

Mana - 5 (+2)

Endurance - 2

Stamina - 2

Aarav's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Basic… pistol?"

The system had acknowledged it.

Not rejected it.

Not removed it.

Recognized it.

Rohan leaned closer. "…You're serious?"

Pranav whispered, "That thing actually counts as your weapon…"

Aarav slowly closed the window.

Whatever this game was it wasn't balanced and that's what make it dangerous.

The countdown neared its end.

00:00:15

Around them, students gripped their new weapons. Some awkwardly holding swords, others clutching daggers like they might disappear.

Fear thickened the air.

00:00:08

Someone nearby began praying under their breath.

00:00:05

The ground trembled faintly.

00:00:03

The temperature dropped just enough to be noticed.

Aarav's grip tightened inside his bag, fingers wrapping firmly around the pistol.

00:00:01

The timer reached zero.

12:10 PM

A final message appeared before every human being on Earth.
