Chapter 85 - The Dual-World Slytherin [85]

"An alchemical blueprint for a broomstick? That's perfect. As long as it relies on alchemy, the workshop should be able to process it."

Damian had specifically asked Geralt to track down an alchemical schematic. The Alchemy Workshop inside the Wizard Tower was equipped to manufacture magical artifacts completely autonomously; it only needed the raw materials and a valid blueprint. He wanted to test if an alchemy recipe from the wizarding world would compute in the ancient tower's systems.

Geralt took a bite of his egg tart and nodded. "Once I finish dinner, I'll write to my father. He can owl the schematics over tonight."

The postal owls proved as reliable as ever. By that very evening, Damian had the broomstick schematic in his hands. It was an antique design, dating back over a century.

Scanning the required materials, Damian was relieved to see no impossibly rare components. In fact, he knew exactly where to find the items he lacked: Professor Snape's private stores.

Damian headed straight for the dungeons to borrow the supplies.

When he arrived at the Potions Master's office, he found Snape meticulously adjusting the set of Muggle precision instruments Damian had gifted him.

"Good evening, Professor," Damian greeted with a polite smile. "Are the Muggle tools serving you well?"

Snape nodded slowly without looking up. "Muggle ingenuity has its occasional merits. These instruments will be quite useful for the lower-year Potions classes. Perhaps they will prevent those dunderheads from making quite so many abysmal errors."

"Not everyone has the meticulous eye of a Potions Master," Damian replied smoothly before stating his business. "Professor, do you happen to have any spare yew wood and dragon heartstring?"

The materials required for this ancient broomstick handle were surprisingly similar to wandcrafting. Damian specifically requested the materials that resonated with his own magic; his wand from Ollivanders was crafted from yew and dragon heartstring.

Not that Damian was overly picky. Thanks to his unique magical foundation, he could wield other people's wands, even if they lacked the smooth resonance of his own. After all, the very first wand he had used in this world was an inherited one from his father.

Snape continued calibrating the glass beakers. "The yew is in the second drawer of the left cabinet. The dragon heartstring is in the bottom right." He paused, his dark eyes flickering up to meet Damian's. "Have you taken an interest in wandcrafting as well?"

Damian shook his head, seeing no need to lie. "I acquired an old alchemical schematic for a broomstick. I want to try forging one."

"Then take a longer, sturdier piece of yew from the third drawer," Snape advised dryly. "And do try not to blow up your dormitory." Snape rarely encouraged students, but a simple broomstick crafting project was relatively harmless.

"Thank you, Professor."

With the materials secured, Damian hurried back to his dormitory. Making sure the coast was clear, he activated the metal disc and crossed over into the Gap World. Now that he had the spatial coordinates locked in the hub crystal, he could teleport directly into the Wizard Tower without having to wander the gray mist.

Materializing in the grand circular hall, Damian peered over the central railing. Far below in the subterranean depths, a massive, pulsating blue sphere of light illuminated the gloom. It was the primary magic power core, which also housed Tower Spirit Zero's central data matrix.

Damian took the sweeping spiral staircase up to the second floor, heading straight for the Alchemy Workshop.

Inside sat a massive, intricate device known as the Analyzer. It was designed to scan raw materials, reverse-engineer magical artifacts, and process alchemical blueprints.

As he stepped through the archway, the magic crystal chandeliers embedded in the ceiling flared to life, casting a warm, ambient glow over the room. In the dead center of the workshop sat a massive, circular workbench—the Analyzer itself.

Damian stood before the console, gripping the parchment schematic. His heart pounded with anticipation. If this ancient workshop could accurately process recipes from the modern wizarding world, it would be an absolute game-changer. It would be like having a master alchemist in his pocket at all times.

He laid the parchment flat onto the Analyzer's scanning plate. "Zero, parse this schematic."

Even though Zero wasn't the dedicated workshop spirit, its core administrator privileges allowed it to operate the machinery.

"Initiating scan... New schematic detected... Processing... New alchemical framework recognized..." Zero's synthesized voice echoed in the cavernous room. A moment later, it instructed, "Please load the raw materials into the analysis matrix."

Damian carefully arranged the yew wood, the dragon heartstring, and the supplemental reagents onto the platform. Searing blue light erupted from the surface, thoroughly scanning the items.

"Material composition analyzed," Zero reported. "Calculated success rate: 88.6%. Safe to proceed. Please transfer materials to the primary fabrication forge."

Damian nodded, shifting the materials onto the heavy conveyor belt attached to the main fabrication unit. "Begin crafting."

Instantly, dense networks of runic circuits illuminated along the walls, drawing pure magical energy up from the subterranean core and funneling it directly into the forge.

With a series of heavy, metallic clicks, the forge's armored shell slid open, pulling the materials off the conveyor belt and into its glowing interior. The thick armor plates then sealed shut.

A moment later, a massive, metallic containment sphere levitated out of the forge. It spun rapidly on a magnetic axis, blinding golden light bleeding through its interlocking seams as the alchemy took place within.

The intense process lasted over two hours.

Finally, the golden light faded, and the containment sphere slowly descended, hissing as it opened. Resting inside was a flawlessly carved, perfectly smooth yew broom handle.

An articulated mechanical arm extended from the forge, clutching a vial of synthesized liquid derived from the magical herbs and minerals Damian had provided. This alchemical lacquer was crucial; it bound the flight enchantments into the wood.

Following the blueprint's exact parameters, the mechanical arm precisely dripped the potion along the length of the yew. With each drop, the wood seemed to awaken, humming and vibrating with raw magical vitality.

The arm then switched to an atomizer, coating the entire broom in a fine, sealing mist. The yew took on a rich, glossy sheen, looking like perfectly waxed luxury furniture.

A second later, the finished broomstick floated gracefully up from the forge, hovering patiently in mid-air.

Damian reached out and gripped the shaft. It was pleasantly warm to the touch, thrumming with the residual heat of the alchemical forge.

Eager to test it, he mounted the broom. It rose steadily and smoothly, responding instantly to his intent. He took it for a quick, tight lap around the cavernous workshop. It handled flawlessly.

A wide, satisfied smile broke across Damian's face. The automated workshop had flawlessly translated a wizarding world schematic into reality.

At this rate, he wouldn't just be a powerful wizard; he could easily claim the title of Alchemy Master without ever lifting a hammer.
