Chapter 3 - Ten Days of Chakra Training

Yagyu Bookstore.

With both hands in his pockets and already showing the bearing of a future handsome man, Yagyu walked inside.

"Mom, I'm back."

Behind the counter, his mother was calculating the accounts. Without raising her head, she responded,

"Welcome home, Sosuke. How was the entrance test? There were no problems, right?"

Facing his mother's question and concern,

Yagyu spoke with an unconcerned expression.

"There won't be any problems. No matter what, I'm still the son of a shinobi. Passing the entrance test is not an issue. Oh right, Mom, I'm going out for training this afternoon."

After saying that, Yagyu paused briefly.

"If I don't keep working hard to become stronger, then if danger ever comes in the future, I won't be able to protect you."

Yagyu's words made his mother smile softly.

"Mom isn't a shinobi, and I'm living right here in Konoha. What danger could there possibly be?"

There were plenty of dangers.

Orochimaru's invasion.

Pain's invasion.

The Shinobi World War.

And possibly even a betrayal from a certain old schemer.

There were definitely no shortage of dangers in Konoha.

After complaining inwardly, Yagyu did not say any of this to his mother. He simply waved his hand and walked into the backyard.

After all, his soul was that of someone mentally mature.

If he acted too intimate with his mother, Yagyu would feel embarrassed.

In the backyard,

Yagyu found the special inheritance left behind by his deceased father.

Two Ninjutsu scrolls.

One swordsmanship scroll.

One experience scroll.

All of them were good items, although not particularly precious.

Both Ninjutsu were C-rank Jutsu.

They were Wind Release: Great Breakthrough and Earth Release: Headhunter Jutsu.

The swordsmanship scroll contained the family's inherited Yagyu Style Swordsmanship. In the era of shinobi, when combined with chakra, it still possessed some level of deterrent power.

The experience scroll recorded the mission experience of his deceased father.

Mostly C-rank missions.

A smaller number of D-rank missions.

And a rare few B-rank missions.

Other than these,

there was nothing else.

"Kunai, shuriken, ninja sword."

After putting away the scrolls, Yagyu organized the equipment at home.

"These basic tools are not lacking in the house. Especially this ninja sword. My goodness, it's actually a family heirloom chakra blade. The Yagyu family must have once been a samurai family, and a wealthy one at that."

The other equipment was nothing special.

But the family sword left behind by his father was truly valuable.

It was forged from a special chakra-conductive refined iron that had extremely high chakra conductivity and was incredibly durable.

Although it looked plain in appearance, it would definitely perform excellently in battle.

"With such a good sword, Konoha didn't confiscate it. That's really strange."

After examining it briefly, Yagyu stored the chakra blade carefully.

"I won't need this for a while anyway."

Swordsmanship could wait another year or two until his body had grown stronger.

The saying "trying to learn too much at once leads to failure" did not apply to Yagyu.

After all, he had the system.

Konoha Public Training Ground.

Inside this prosperous hidden village, even the training grounds were surrounded by beautiful scenery.

In front of five wooden posts in the forest,

Yagyu stood with a ninja tool pouch hanging from his waist, holding several kunai and a few shuriken in his hands. His expression was serious as he locked onto the targets attached to the five wooden posts.

"In shinobi combat, ninja tools and Taijutsu are indispensable."

Taking a deep breath, Yagyu's eyes became sharp.

"These are the foundations of the foundation. The basics must be trained until they are completely solid."

The wind blew gently.

Leaves from the surrounding trees drifted down.

The moment several leaves happened to fall between Yagyu and the targets

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.

The sound of objects cutting through the air suddenly rang out.

Several sharp flashes streaked through the air.

Immediately afterward, the kunai and shuriken in Yagyu's hands struck all the targets with perfect accuracy.

"Not bad."

Looking at the results of his throw, Yagyu revealed a satisfied smile.

"I can't perform flashy tricks like those masters who specialize in ninja tools, but this level of precision is already close to what comes from countless repetitions. Let's continue."

Although the system had directly granted him mastery and muscle memory, actually using the Jutsu personally still felt different.

What Yagyu wanted to do now was to use every ability he had gained.

An entire afternoon passed while Yagyu continued testing his combat abilities.

Thud.

Completely exhausted, Yagyu collapsed onto the ground without caring about his appearance.

"Haa… haa… haa…"

Breathing heavily, Yagyu's clothes were completely soaked with sweat.

"I'm so tired. Even with the Sage Body, my current age is still too young."

While speaking, Yagyu carefully sensed the condition of his body.

A cool sensation emerged from deep within his body.

It quickly restored his physical fatigue and further strengthened his body.

This was the change and benefit brought by the Sage Body.

"It's about time to head back."

After lying on the ground for a while, Yagyu stood up.

"Today's testing is finished. Starting tomorrow, I'll make a complete training plan. By the time the main storyline begins in six years, I should at least have the strength to freely handle the early stages."

At the very least, Yagyu was confident about that.

With the Sage Body as his foundation, reaching the strength of an Elite Jonin before graduating from the Ninja Academy should not be a problem.

The backyard of the Yagyu household.

After dinner, Yagyu began attempting to extract chakra for the first time.

He would soon become a shinobi.

With his starting time, he would definitely be slower than the children of the shinobi clans.

But if he worked hard to catch up, the difference should not be too great.

"So this is chakra?"

When a special power appeared within his body, Yagyu opened his eyes.

"My speed of extracting chakra for the first time is really fast. Is this also a passive buff from the Sage Body? This feels great."

The Sage Body truly lived up to its reputation.

Closing his eyes again, he continued refining chakra and storing it, step by step walking along the path of becoming stronger.

The next day, morning.

Lying in bed, Yagyu woke up precisely according to his biological clock.

It was not even six in the morning yet.

"System."

After glancing at the time, a hint of anticipation appeared on Yagyu's face.

[Ding! Sign-in successful. Congratulations, you obtained: Ten Days of Chakra Training.]

Buzz.

The moment the system's voice fell,

the originally weak chakra inside Yagyu's body suddenly grew by a large margin.

Feeling the increase in his chakra, Yagyu was momentarily stunned.

"There are rewards like this too? That's interesting."

This kind of reward meant that it could save him a great deal of arduous training.

Not bad at all.
