Meanwhile, Rani went to a park to meet her three close friends: Krishna, Mitali, and Rakhi. They were very dear to her and had been calling her since morning to meet up. Around 11 or 12 o'clock, the three of them sat under a large tree to talk.
Mitali: "So, what's the news from yesterday's meeting? Did you like this 'Prince Charming'? Did you say yes or no?"
Rani: "I said no."
Rakhi: "You said no to this one too! How many more boys are you going to reject? This makes six boys you've turned down. I have no idea what it is you're actually looking for."
Krishna: "Do you think your family will even bother looking for more proposals after this?"
Mitali: "Regardless, what are you thinking? Who is the next person you're going to reject? It's time you made someone your life partner."
Rani: "No... I won't be rejecting anyone else. I've found exactly what I was looking for. My search is finally over."
The Ultimate Test
Rakhi, Mitali, and Krishna all cried out at once: "Who?! Who is it?"
Rani: "The one I rejected yesterday."
All three of them stared at her, baffled. "Are you out of your mind?" they asked.
Rani replied calmly: "Why wouldn't I be? Listen, for all this time, everyone who has proposed to me or agreed to marry me has done so only after seeing my father's wealth. Whenever I behaved poorly with them, they responded with more bad behavior and left. At the very least, they always fought back or insulted me in return.
"But this man... do you know, he didn't say a single word back to me. It was as if he stood there and silently accepted a punishment for a crime he didn't even commit. I heard that even after going home, he didn't show any anger toward me. Instead, he told them that I was helpless and forced into it.
"He is a different kind of man. He seemed incredibly honest. When I was insulting him, I saw tears well up in his eyes. He is a man who didn't look at a woman's body with lustful eyes—and I have seen enough men to know the difference. I can say with certainty that he is different; maybe not just a little, but very different. He might be a bit foolish, but he is a truly good person."
After talking about this for a long while, Rani's three friends departed to attend to their own business.
