Chapter 72 - Chapter 71: Seaside Special Training, Pikachu's Splishy Splash

The sunlight of Binu City spilled across the azure sea, dancing upon the shimmering ripples.

Ash stood on his surfboard, weaving through the waves as Pikachu clung tightly to his shoulder, savoring the rush of the sea breeze.

"Pikachu, look at this ocean," Ash said, maintaining his balance on the crest of a wave. "It reminds me of a special moveSplishy Splash!"

Pikachu tilted its head back, a puzzled expression on its face. "Pika?"

Ash explained patiently, "This is a Partner Move that only a Pikachu with a deep connection to its Trainer can learn. You have to perfectly combine your Electric energy with the flow of water, releasing a powerful surge of electricity even as you weave through the crashing waves."

Over the next few days, Ash and Pikachu began their special training.

The initial attempts were far from smooth. Pikachu would either lose its balance while trying to condense its energy or fail to control its electricity while surfing. Several times, Pikachu almost tumbled from the surfboard, but fortunately, Ash used his Aura Power just in time to steady it.

"Don't worry," Ash comforted the somewhat discouraged Pikachu. "A move this complex takes time."

One day, just as Pikachu was losing its balance once again, a lithe figure suddenly blurred past them.

A bronze-skinned, middle-aged surfer nimbly caught Pikachu before it could hit the water. Standing on his shoulder was a Pikachu of his own.

"Careful there, young man." The surfer smiled as he returned Pikachu to Ash. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Victor, and this is my partner, Pikachu."

Ash noticed that Victor's Pikachu was uniqueit had rare blue eyes, and the fine wrinkles around its eyelids showed its advanced age. But what left the deepest impression was its steady aura, as if it had weathered countless storms.

"Thank you," Ash said gratefully. "We've been practicing Splishy Splash, but we just haven't been able to find the knack for it."

Victor's eyes lit up. "Splishy Splash? That is a quite high-level move. It took my old friend and me ten years to fully master it."

His Pikachu nodded slightly, its eyes glinting with wisdom.

"Look over there," Victor pointed toward the distant horizon. "The Big Tuesday is coming. It is a legendary wave that only appears at this time of yearthe ultimate trial to test the synergy between a surfer and their Pokemon."

Ash followed his gaze and saw a thin white line of foam slowly forming in the distance. Even from so far away, the overwhelming power of the swell was palpable.

"Mr. Victor, please let me challenge it with you!" Ash requested without hesitation.

Victor sized up Ash and Pikachu, nodding after a moment of thought. "Very well. But remember, in the face of nature's power, we must remain humble."

The two humans and two mice arrived at the best vantage point to catch the wave. As The Big Tuesday drew closer, the ocean began to reveal its terrifying side. The swell grew higher and higher, eventually forming a wall of water nearly ten meters tall.

"Now's the time!" Victor shouted, leading the way as he and his Pikachu were the first to charge into the surf.

The elder Pikachu stood firmly on the crest of the wave, its body beginning to glow with electricity. Amazingly, the energy it released did not fight against the wave; instead, it merged with it. The electricity flowed through the water, creating brilliant, shimmering patterns of light.

Ash followed close behind, with Pikachu nervously gripping his shoulder. The force of the massive wave was beyond imagination; Ash felt like a fallen leaf tossing in a torrent.

"Pikachu, don't fight itmerge with it!" Ash yelled over the roar of the wind and waves.

Pikachu closed its eyes, trying to feel the rhythm of the ocean. It began to release faint sparks, but they were quickly swallowed by the giant wave.

Victor and his partner moved through the water with ease, their movements as graceful as a dance. Electricity and spray blended perfectly, forming a mobile wave of thunder and lightning.

"Remember this feeling!" Victor's voice echoed through the waves. "It's not about mastery; it's about dancing together!"

Suddenly, a massive swell crashed toward Ash.

In that moment of crisis, Ash's Pikachu seemed to have an epiphany. It stopped trying to control the wave and instead gently infused its Electric energy into the water. Golden light began to flow through the swell; although it wasn't stable yet, the prototype of Splishy Splash had finally begun to take shape.

Victor watched with satisfaction. "Excellent! You've reached the threshold!"

After the challenge ended, everyone returned to the beach, exhausted. Though Ash's Pikachu hadn't fully mastered Splishy Splash, it was now able to combine its Electric energy with the water.

"Thank you, Mr. Victor," Ash said sincerely.

The elder Pikachu walked up to Ash's Pikachu and gently patted its head with a paw, as if passing on some ancient wisdom.

As they were saying their goodbyes, Victor suddenly spoke up. "Young man, your Pikachu is very talented. However, to truly master Splishy Splash, you still have to pass one final trial."

He pointed toward the horizon. "Only in the massive waves that come with a storm can you truly grasp the essence of this move."

Watching Victor and his Pikachu leave, Ash looked at his partner and said encouragingly, "Pikachu, you were great just now! Let's get back to practice!"

"Pika!" Pikachu nodded determinedly.

And so, for the next few days, Ash and Pikachu continued to challenge the giant waves. Misty and Brock could only marvel at the intensity of their training.

Fortunately, Pikachu didn't disappoint. Three days later, it had achieved a preliminary mastery of Splishy Splash. As for its power, that would require real battles to improve!

Once Pika-God masters this move, he'll have all the Partner Moves in his arsenal for the future!
