Chapter 241: Welcome to the Sobu High First-Year District!
.....
"Seito-kun!"
"Seito-kun~!"
Maple, Sally, Shoko Nishimiya, and Yui Yuigahama broke into wide smiles the moment they caught sight of him. Even though the others—besides Yui—were in his Harbinger guild and knew he'd been grinding Divine Power, they hadn't seen him in days. Seito had basically been living in the Boss Labyrinths, only emerging to eat or sleep.
Whoosh.
Dispelling the visual effects, Seito touched down and immediately reached out to ruffle Maple's hair.
Ah... that's the spot, he thought to himself. The legendary head of the ultimate 'Eupho-chan' (lucky player) herself. Maple happily squinted her eyes, basking in the attention. Nearby, Kaguya Shinomiya, Ai Hayasaka, Yukino Yukinoshita, and Eriri Sawamura looked just as excited to see him, though they remained composed.
Seito withdrew his hand and his gaze shifted to Yui. Seeing her walking with a slight, awkward limp, he leaned in close to whisper in her ear: "Want me to heal that for you?"
Yui glanced nervously at her classmates before letting out a soft, shy, "Mmm."
Seito flicked his finger, and a wisp of soft white light shot into her. She instantly felt a wave of soothing relief as the soreness faded away.
"Seito-kun, you're finally here." Kaguya stepped forward, her expression professional as ever. "Since you were on leave, the setup for the school festival was handled yesterday afternoon by us and the other classes. Take a look and see what you think."
She handed him a file. Seito flipped through the pages, his mouth twitching in a silent grimace. Seriously? He couldn't help but want to roast the entire plan—this haunted house setup was painfully outdated.
"Is something wrong?" Kaguya asked, tilting her head and inadvertently leaning into his personal space.
"The problem is," Seito replied, "this plot is ancient. It's too cliché. I'm redoing it. Could you call the reps from the other classes?"
Kaguya didn't argue; she simply turned to go gather them. Moments later, Yumiko Miura, Arisu Sakayanagi, Umaru Doma, and Kirukiru Amou were all assembled in Class 1-D.
"Seito-kun, you're saying this plan won't work?" Sakayanagi asked, tapping her cane with a playful glint in her eyes.
"Exactly," Seito nodded. "It's a carbon copy of every amusement park haunted house. It's boring."
"Well, what do you suggest? We spent days coming up with this!" Yumiko crossed her arms, looking skeptical.
Seito scanned the room. "Don't you guys read horror novels?"
The girls blinked. Read... horror novels? Yumiko was a total social butterfly,
Sakayanagi was traditional, Umaru preferred anime, and Amou was too busy slaying monsters in the God Domain. Naturally, none of them read horror fiction.
"Fine," Seito said, "I'll handle the props. My powers are manifested in reality, after all. As for the plot..."
As Seito laid out his vision, the girls found themselves nodding in rapid agreement. Once he finished, they hurried back to their respective classes to deliver the news. Seito then used his Kamui Space to manifest several barrels of monster blood, using his divine power to mask the pungent, making raw/bloody odor.
"Seito-kun, why are you bringing so much tomato sauce?" Maple asked, curious.
A crowd gathered. Kirito, the "Black Swordsman," feeling confident, dipped a finger into the liquid and tasted it.
Gag!
He immediately spat it out and dropped to his knees, staring at Seito in sheer horror.
"This... this is real blood?!"
Whoosh! The entire class scrambled back in a panic.
"Seito-kun, where did you get this?" Sally asked, looking completely bewildered. Nobody just carries around buckets of blood!
"It's monster blood," Seito explained calmly. "I processed the remains of the monsters I killed in the real world inside my Kamui space, so I had a bit of a surplus."
Everyone nodded, seemingly relieved. But then...
"You degenerate!" Utaha Kasumigaoka couldn't help but blurt out. "Don't tell me you're planning on splashing our classroom with blood?"
Great! If he did that, cleaning up after the festival would be a nightmare! The other students shared her sentiment and stared at Seito, waiting for his response.
"Of course not," Seito retorted. Everyone let out a collective sigh of relief—until they heard what he said next, and their jaws hit the floor.
"Not just the classroom," Seito declared firmly. "We're all going to be drenched in blood, too!"
He was absolutely serious. It was the only way to get the right atmosphere! Seeing their horrified expressions, Seito smiled.
"Don't worry. When the festival ends, I'll use my divine power to clean your clothes, and I'll take care of the school's janitorial work, too!"
"No way!" Yukinoshita's face went cold. "I am not getting covered in this foul-smelling gore."
"Flatty, don't underestimate me~!" Seito's smirk deepened. He plunged his hands into the barrel and instantly used Spatial Shift to appear right in front of Yukino, smearing his blood-stained hands all over her.
He accidentally brushed her chest—not exactly flat, but not exactly big either!
Yukinoshita flushed a deep, humiliated red, glaring at him with murderous intent. What did this guy just do?! How dare he!
"What are you doing?!"
"Nobody's escaping today," Seito laughed wickedly. He grabbed a towel soaked in blood and began whipping it wildly through the air!
Instant chaos! In seconds, the entire classroom was a disaster zone.
Five minutes later, the girls were looking at Seito as if they wanted to commit first-degree murder. The guys, on the other hand, didn't seem to mind. Kirito wiped some blood from his face, a wild, maniacal grin spreading across his lips.
"Seito-san," Kirito said, looking around, "it seems none of the other classes are covered in blood yet!"
Seito got the message instantly.
"So," Seito grinned, "which class should we hit first?"
