Chapter 397: Shiramine Risa: "What Did That Feel Like?"

Inside the Shiramine house, on the second floor.
In Risa's bedroom.
Seito and Kaede were staring at each other, both thinking about what had just happened downstairs.
"Seito-kun~ you totally saw her just now, didn't you?" Kaede looked at Seito and couldn't help asking.
"Saw what?" Seito scratched his head, pretending he had no idea.
"Risa, of course!" Seeing him act dumb, Kaede pouted.
Why was he teasing her at a time like this? She wasn't happy!
"Yeah," Seito nodded, speaking honestly before he could stop himself. "She has a really great body."
"Is my body not good then?" Kaede's face turned red, her voice sounding a little jealous.
"Yours is amazing too!" Seito smiled warmly. He reached out to pull Kaede into a tight hug and said softly, "You could say you are the perfect match for me!"
"The perfect match?" Kaede felt a wave of warmth rush through her heart.
Seeing her look so easily comforted made Seito want to laugh. After all, this was the very first time Kaede had ever acted jealous around him.
Kaede really was the best match for him, especially when it came to how comfortable and in sync they were together. Looking at her smooth, glowing face, she looked so sweet and cute that Seito couldn't resist leaning in to take a playful bite of her cheek.
"Nom~!"
"Mmh~" Kaede felt her face burning up with heat.

The bedroom door suddenly swung open, and Risa walked in, her face still red. When she saw the two of them tangled together on her bed, she froze on the spot.
Not only her, but Kaede was completely startled too.
"Oh ho? You two..." Risa smirked, a deeply playful look on her face.
"N-No... it's not what it looks like! Seito-kun, let go of me quickly," Kaede panicked a little.
But at the same time, a strange, exciting feeling welled up inside her. What was this sudden thrill about getting caught?
"No way!" Seito refused to let go. Instead, he leaned in and planted a few more loud kisses right on Kaede's cheek, acting completely shameless.
Kaede felt completely helpless, so she simply decided to give up and stop resisting. She didn't hate this feeling anyway, so she might as well just lie back and enjoy it.
On the other side of the room, Risa felt completely different. Watching Seito and Kaede pack on the affection right in front of her made her feel like she was being forced to eat a mountain of couple's food. She felt like a super bright third wheel!
However... as a sudden thought crossed her mind, a curious light flashed in Risa's eyes.
She knew that even though Kaede and Seito liked each other before, Kaede had never been this bold. What happened today? Why was she suddenly acting so open and daring? Could something major have happened over on the DanMachi planet that she didn't know about?
Thinking about this, Risa couldn't help but ask bluntly, "Did you two... actually sleep together?"
The moment those words left her mouth, both Seito and Kaede froze in shock.
A moment later, Kaede's face turned completely red.
Seito, on the other hand, nodded his head firmly. "Yes!"
"You really did?!" Risa quickly rushed over and sat down right next to them, looking at Kaede with wide, curious eyes. "What did that feel like?"
Seito: "..."
Kaede: "..."
The two of them stared at her, completely questioning their sanity. Risa's question was simply way too blunt and forward.
Kaede kept her head down, her face burning hot. How was she supposed to answer a question like that? Was she supposed to say it felt really good? It was definitely better to stay completely silent.
Cough, cough.
Seito let go of Kaede and let out two awkward coughs.
By this time, Risa also realized that her question was way too inappropriate, and her face flushed bright red. After all, Seito was still sitting right there in front of her. If she wanted to ask about stuff like that, she should have waited until he left the room. This was so embarrassing!
"By the way, I remember you're coming over to my place to celebrate the New Year too, right?" Seito looked at Risa, quickly changing the subject.
Before leaving, Kaguya had shown him the list of people who were joining the party at his building, and Risa's name was right on it.
"That's right!" Risa nodded her head firmly.
"Kaede is going, so I'm definitely tag-teaming along!"
As Kaede's best friend, Risa naturally had no intention of leaving her to hang out alone. Plus, she had never spent the New Year away from her own family before, so she thought it would be a really fun and fresh experience.
"Speaking of which, do you two know about the trouble that has been brewing in our Eastern Country lately?" Risa remembered something, pulling out her phone.
Seito and Kaede looked at each other. They really hadn't heard about any trouble happening.
Risa slid her phone across the bed, showing them the screen. As the two of them read through the news report, they both fell into deep thought.
The news was all about the deep-rooted arrogance of the Westerners. There was a lot of hidden history behind this issue.
Right now, Earth was living in a golden age where three powerful races stood as equals. The humans, monsters, and deities had all finished rebuilding and were working together peacefully to build up the planet.
In the past, all the European territories had been taken over and absorbed by Eastern Side. During that transition, the citizenship policy created by Elder Yang had worked incredibly well. Those Westerners had studied the Chinese and other eastern language with absolute dedication, and a massive number of them had successfully gained official Eastern Country citizenship.
However... because arrogance was practically baked into the bones of Western culture, and combined with the fact that humans were respected as the dominant race among the three factions, these people slowly began to develop a massive superiority complex over the other two races.
Not long ago, a group of young Western tourists traveled together into the Beast-Race territory for a vacation. During a dinner party, they got completely wasted on alcohol. Spotting a very cute young monster girl, they actually tried to force themselves on her and get handsy.
This instantly enraged the monster girl, and she opened her mouth and swallowed them whole in a single gulp.
After the incident, some young members of the Beast-Race recorded the event and posted the details directly onto the internet. Surprisingly, both the high-level officials of Eastern Country and the leaders of the Beast-Race completely ignored the issue, refusing to give any sort of response.
The reason was simple. These Westerners had gone out of their way to seek death on their own; why should the government clean up their mess? Elder Yang was definitely not going to do that. Deep down, he had never truly accepted the Westerners as his own people anyway.
But this complete silence made the European immigrants furious, and they began holding massive street protests and marches every single day.
Seeing them march around the streets, the original natives of Eastern Country found it hilarious. Groups of local martial artists began packing up and traveling over to Europe in droves. Those protesting groups were beaten so badly that they looked like crying children, which quickly forced the Westerners to shut up and behave themselves.
"It looks like the timeline has just been too short. The arrogance baked into their bones can't be wiped out overnight," Seito said with a look of pure disdain after reading through the news.
What did these Westerners think they were? Throughout global history, the main lineage of the world had always belonged to the Eastern Country! Were these guys just so full from eating that they had nothing better to do than protest on the streets every day?
Kaede thought about it for a moment, before opening her mouth to speak: "I feel like... they might be secretly planning to rebuild their old nations!"
