Chapter 1 - Story: The Man Behind the Mirror

Page – 1: The New House

In an old neighborhood of Kolkata, there stood a large but very lonely house. The house had been empty for many years. People said strange things happened there.

One day, a photographer named Arnab rented the house. He loved quiet places, so he didn't believe the rumors.

On the first night, Arnab noticed something strange. In the middle of the room stood a huge old mirror.

The mirror looked unusual. Its wooden frame had strange carvings, almost like eyes watching him.

At around 2 AM, Arnab suddenly woke up.

Because he clearly heard someone whispering,

"You… have arrived…"

Arnab looked around. He was alone in the house.

Then his eyes fell on the mirror.

His reflection was standing there…

But the reflection was smiling.

And Arnab realized—

he was not smiling.

The next morning Arnab tried to convince himself it was just imagination.

But every night, strange things began to happen.

Sometimes the reflection in the mirror moved a few seconds late.

When Arnab raised his hand, the reflection copied him after a delay.

One night he stood in front of the mirror and asked,

"Who are you?"

The reflection stayed silent.

But suddenly…

Its lips moved.

"I… am you."

Arnab stepped back in fear.

Then he noticed something terrifying.

Every night, the person inside the mirror looked more real.

And the look in his eyes felt like he was trying to come out.

One night Arnab decided to end this mystery.

Standing in front of the mirror, he shouted,

"Who are you?!"

This time the reflection answered.

"I was the previous owner of this house."

Arnab felt a chill run down his spine.

The reflection continued,

"Many years ago, I got trapped inside this mirror… and someone else took my place outside."

Arnab asked nervously,

"What do you mean?"

The reflection slowly smiled.

"Tonight… my turn ends."

Suddenly a hand came out of the mirror.

Before Arnab could scream, the room went completely dark.

The next morning, the neighbors saw Arnab standing on the balcony.

Everything looked normal.

He was talking to people and smiling.

No one suspected anything strange.

But inside the house, in that old mirror…

A man was desperately banging on the glass.

He was screaming,

"Let me out! I am Arnab!"

But the Arnab standing outside the mirror only smiled slowly.

There was something cold and strange in his eyes.

Because…

He was not Arnab anymore.

The man inside the mirror had finally

escaped.
