Neo had never been a stranger to familial love. His parents have always cared for him and given him the best of everything they could. That stood for both him and his sister.
They were a small, but content family. They would have continued being that way had Neo not become what he was. But even after his abilities manifested, his family didn't treat him differently.
They didn't try to force him to work hard or boast too much about him, they didn't do anything relatively uncomfortable to him. They had always accommodated him for who he was, even with his slight arrogance and stubbornness.
