The Thousand Sunny drifted lazily on the calm waters of the New World. The crew had gathered around their captain, who was currently consuming his seventeenth plate of meat. Sanji, true to his nature, kept the food coming, a cigarette dangling from his lips as he watched Luffy with a mixture of annoyance and relief.
"You've been eating for three hours straight, Luffy. At this rate, we'll run out of supplies before we reach the next island," Nami said, her hand instinctively going to her wallet—or where her wallet would be if she hadn't already calculated the astronomical food costs in her head.
"BUT IT'S SO GOOD!" Luffy yelled through a mouthful of drumstick. "The food there was okay, but nothing like Sanji's cooking! I fought a dinosaur, a pointy-haired angry guy, and a living shadow, and none of them had good food!"
Robin looked up from her book, her expression curious. "A living shadow, Luffy? That sounds fascinating. Could you elaborate?"
Luffy paused, a piece of meat halfway to his mouth. For a rare moment, he looked thoughtful. "It was weird. It ate memories or something. Called me an 'echo.' But I punched it with my dream and it went away." He shrugged and resumed eating, as if defeating a void entity with sheer ambition was perfectly normal.
Zoro, leaning against the mast with one eye closed, spoke up. "So you're saying you went to another world, learned some new kind of energy, and fought a god of nothing?"
"Shishishi! Yeah! Oh, and I learned a cool new attack! Watch!" Luffy jumped up, spraying food everywhere, and cupped his hands at his hip. "KA... ME... HA... ME..."
The crew watched with varying degrees of anticipation and concern. A faint golden glow began to build in Luffy's palms.
"Wait, Luffy, not on the ship!" Franky yelled,但他的 warning came too late.
"HA!"
A torrent of golden energy erupted from Luffy's hands, shooting across the deck and completely obliterating the mast of the mini-merry, which was thankfully stored on the upper deck. The blast continued for another hundred meters across the ocean surface before dissipating.
The crew stared in stunned silence. Chopper's jaw dropped. Usopp fainted. Brook's soul nearly left his skeleton again.
"YOHOHOHO! That was quite explosive! It sent a chill down my spine—if I had a spine!"
Nami's eye twitched. "That's it. You're paying for repairs. That's 50,000,000 berry worth of damage!"
"But I don't have any money!" Luffy said, completely unbothered. "Hey, Sanji! More meat!"
As the chaos resumed, Jinbe, the calm and wise helmsman, approached Luffy. "Captain, this energy you've described... it sounds remarkably similar to something I've heard tales of in Fish-Man Island's oldest texts. An energy that flows through all living things in certain universes. They called it 'Ki.'"
Luffy nodded vigorously. "Yeah, that's it! A hermit crab grandpa taught me. Then a green guy named Kami helped me mix it with my Gears!"
Jinbe stroked his chin thoughtfully. "If you've truly accessed power from another dimension, it might attract attention. Beings who can sense such things across vast distances."
As if on cue, the sky above them darkened. Not with clouds, but with a massive spacecraft, easily the size of a small island, descending through the atmosphere. It was round, metallic, and covered in weapons.
"WHAT IS THAT?!" Chopper screamed, hiding behind Zoro.
The ship hovered above them, and a massive viewscreen flickered to life. On it appeared a familiar face—wild black hair, arrogant sneer, battle armor.
"Freak," Vegeta's voice boomed across the ocean. "Did you think you could escape me by jumping back to your pathetic little world? I followed your energy signature across dimensions. My scientists have been working non-stop to track the anomaly. And now, I've come to finish what I started."
Luffy's face split into a massive grin. "POINTY-HAIR GUY! You came to visit! Do you want some meat?"
Vegeta's eye twitched violently. "I am VEGETA, Prince of all Saiyans! I didn't come here to share a meal with a low-class mutant! I came here to prove my superiority by crushing you!"
From behind Vegeta, another figure stepped into view. Taller, broader, with longer hair and a cruel smile. "So this is the anomaly that's been giving you trouble, Vegeta? He looks pathetic."
"Shut up, Nappa. He's mine."
Zoro stepped forward, his hand on Enma. "Luffy, you want us to handle this?"
Luffy shook his head, still grinning. "Nope! They're my friends from the other world! Well, the pointy-hair guy is trying to fight me, so he's kind of a friend? Shishishi!"
Vegeta's eye twitched again. "I am NOT your friend! Nappa, wipe out the ship. I'll deal with the freak."
Nappa grinned, raising two fingers to his forehead. "With pleasure." He vanished from the screen.
"EVERYONE MOVE!" Jinbe roared.
A second later, Nappa appeared in the sky above the Sunny, his hand crackling with yellow energy. "Say goodbye, little bugs!"
Before he could release the attack, a green blur intercepted him. Zoro appeared mid-air, Enma already drawn, and slashed across Nappa's chest. The Saiyan's eyes went wide as the blade connected, drawing a thin line of blood.
"WHAT?!" Nappa backhanded Zoro, sending him crashing into the ocean. "A sword cut drew blood from a Saiyan? IMPOSSIBLE!"
Zoro erupted from the water, jumping back onto the ship, a feral grin on his face. "He's tough. I like him."
Luffy was laughing hysterically. "Shishishi! Zoro, you're all wet! You look like a lost puppy!"
"Shut up, Luffy."
On the viewscreen, Vegeta's eyes narrowed. "Interesting. The freak's crew has some power. But it won't be enough." He vanished from the screen.
A moment later, both Vegeta and Nappa stood on the ocean surface, their Ki keeping them afloat as if it were solid ground.
"Stay out of this, Nappa," Vegeta commanded. "I want the freak."
"Fine, fine," Nappa grumbled, cracking his knuckles and eyeing the rest of the crew. "I'll play with the toys."
The battle for the Thousand Sunny had begun.
