Chapter 12 - Empty Feelings

Meanwhile back at the mansion.

Saki had been staying there for a few days now, and she was slowly getting used to it.

Or at least she was trying to.

The house was enormous. Every room felt like it belonged in a magazine. But the game room… that one broke her brain.

She stood in front of the massive screen. 8K resolution. 48 frames per second. The sound system was so good she could hear the wind rustling through grass in the background of games. Custom-made. Rich people nonsense.

She sat on the huge couch, controller in her hands, staring at the screen.

'This is actually insane… Normal people don't live like this.'

Miyuri was beside her, enthusiastically explaining every feature while eating snacks.

But Saki's mind kept drifting.

Her phone rang.

She looked at the screen. Mom.

She answered.

"Hello?"

"Saki! Your father… he's gone missing!" Her mother's voice cracked, full of tears. "The police don't know anything. He just disappeared after work two days ago. I'm so scared…"

Saki listened.

She waited for the feeling to hit.

Sadness. Worry. Anger. Anything.

But nothing came.

There was only a cold, empty space where those feelings should have been.

On the phone, she forced her voice to sound concerned.

"Missing…? That's… that's terrible, Mom. Have you told the police everything?"

She kept acting worried. Said the right things. Comforted her mother as best she could.

But inside?

'…Good.'

That was the only thought that came.

No guilt. No sympathy. Just a quiet, detached relief.

The man who was supposed to protect her had sold her body for money. Blackmailed her. Ruined her.

Now he was gone.

And she felt nothing.

Saki ended the call after a few more minutes of acting.

She put the phone down.

Stared at the giant screen again.

Miyuri looked over at her.

"You okay?"

Saki forced a small smile.

"Yeah. Just… family stuff."

She picked up the controller again.

But her hands were steady.

No shaking.

No tears.

Just the soft hum of the expensive sound system filling the room.

And the quiet realization that she wasn't the same girl she used to be.

Not anymore.

Meanwhile in a different part of the mansion.

Yamada stood in his study, looking out the window. Anri stood beside him, tablet in hand, reviewing his schedule.

"I have a date at 5," he said. "Mochizuki will be coming at 3. And I still need to investigate that teacher."

Anri looked at him. Her purple eyes blinked once.

"Master… what were the odds of all these happening on the same day?"

Yamada let out a small breath. Almost a laugh.

"Apparently high enough."

Anri smiled softly, a hint of teasing in her voice.

"First you rescue Miss Saki, then Miss Tachibana and Miss Kurokawa visit the basement, now Miss Mochizuki is coming… and you still made time for a date with Miss Louisa. You're quite busy these days."

Yamada turned away from the window and leaned against his desk.

"Can't be helped. Things are moving fast."

Anri stepped closer. She adjusted his collar gently, even though it didn't need fixing.

"Should I prepare the basement for Mochizuki? Or would you prefer a softer approach with her?"

Yamada thought for a moment.

"Soft for now. She wasn't like the others. I don't want to scare her."

Anri nodded.

"Understood. I'll have a room ready and make sure she feels welcome. As for the date with Miss Louisa… would you like me to prepare the car and reservations?"

"Yeah. Somewhere nice. Not too flashy."

Anri wrote it down on her tablet.

"Consider it done."

She paused, then looked up at him with a small, knowing smile.

"Master… you're collecting quite the collection. Are you sure your heart can handle all of them?"

Yamada smirked.

"I'll manage."

Anri leaned in and gave him a light kiss on the cheek.

"I'll make sure everything runs smoothly today. You just focus on what needs to be done."

She turned to leave, then stopped at the door.

"By the way… Miss Saki has been asking about you. She seems more comfortable now."

Yamada nodded.

"Good. Keep an eye on her too."

Anri bowed slightly.

"As you wish."

She left the room quietly.

Yamada sat down at his desk. He picked up his phone and opened the file on Tamura-sensei.

His expression turned cold again.

'One thing at a time.'

Yamada sat at his desk, slowly scrolling through the file on Tamura-sensei.

His expression remained cold as he read the growing list of evidence. But his mind drifted.

'Mochizuki…'

She was different from the others.

Nice. Kind. Clumsy, but she actually tried. She talked to him like a person, not just a patient with a condition. She never laughed at him. Never got rough just because she could.

She didn't deserve the basement.

Not like Yamaguchi, who was violent and enjoyed it.

Not like Numajiri, who was cruel with her words and mind games.

Those two deserved everything he planned to give them.

But Mochizuki?

He stopped scrolling.

'Personal Nurse.'

The idea settled in his mind.

He imagined it.

Night time. His bedroom dimly lit.

Anri and Mochizuki standing in front of his bed. Both completely naked.

Anri with her elegant silver hair and confident purple eyes.

Mochizuki shy, blushing, fidgeting, trying her best to look composed.

Both of them waiting for his command.

Yamada's lips curved into a slow grin.

"Yeah… Personal Nurse is a good idea."

He leaned back in his chair, still grinning faintly.

Anri would train her.

She would take care of his health — in every way.

And she would be safe here. Protected. Spoiled, even.

He closed the file on Tamura for now.

One problem at a time.

First, Mochizuki's arrival later today.

Then the date with Louisa.

And somewhere in between… he would start tightening the noose around Tamura.

Yamada stood up.

He felt strangely satisfied.

The house was growing.

His plans were moving.

And for once, it didn't feel heavy.

It felt right.

Later that afternoon.

The doorbell rang.

Anri opened the front door with her usual elegant smile.

Mochizuki stood there, still wearing her nurse uniform from her shift. She looked nervous, clutching the formal letter in both hands.

"Um… I got this letter saying the new landlord wanted to discuss rent in person…?"

Anri bowed politely.

"Welcome, Miss Mochizuki. Master is expecting you. Please come in."

Mochizuki stepped inside hesitantly. Her eyes widened at the luxurious interior.

"W-wait… this is the landlord's house? It's so big…"

Anri led her through the foyer toward the living room.

"Master Yamada will explain everything."

Mochizuki stopped walking the moment she saw him.

Yamada was sitting calmly on the couch. Hoodie on. Expression relaxed.

Mochizuki's mouth fell open.

"Yamada-kun…? You're the landlord?!"

Yamada nodded.

"Sit down. We need to talk."

Mochizuki sat across from him, still in shock. Her hands fidgeted in her lap.

Yamada got straight to the point.

"I bought your apartment building. Along with the others. You all owe me rent now."

Mochizuki's face went pale.

"But… why?"

Yamada looked at her.

"Because I wanted control over the people who controlled me in the hospital."

Mochizuki looked down. Guilty.

"I… I wasn't like the others. I tried to be gentle with you…"

"I know," Yamada said softly. "That's why I'm offering you something different."

He leaned forward slightly.

"I want you to work for me. Live here. Become my personal nurse. Take care of my health… and my other needs."

Mochizuki's cheeks turned bright red.

"P-Personal nurse…?"

Anri, standing quietly beside Yamada, added gently:

"You will be well compensated. And protected. Master has a soft spot for you."

Mochizuki stared at them both. Her mind was clearly spinning.

"I… I need time to think about this…"

Yamada nodded.

"Take all the time you need. The offer is open."

Anri escorted Mochizuki back to the front door.

Once she was gone, Anri returned to Yamada.

"She seemed very flustered, Master. But not unwilling."

Yamada leaned back on the couch.

"Good. She'll come around."

He looked at the clock.

"Louisa's date is at 5. Make sure everything is prepared."

Anri bowed.

"As you wish."

She paused at the door, then smiled teasingly.

"Should I prepare the bedroom for when you return… or will Miss Mochizuki's future room need attention first?"

Yamada smirked.

"We'll see."

Meanwhile, in Tachibana's small apartment.

Tachibana and Kurokawa were sitting on the couch, snacks scattered on the table. Both of them had their phones out, waiting.

Kurokawa was the first to speak.

"She should've texted by now… Mochizuki got the letter this morning, right?"

Tachibana nodded, arms crossed.

"Yeah. I told her not to worry too much. But knowing Yamada… he's probably already got her in the basement."

Kurokawa's eyes widened with a mix of horror and excitement.

"Oh no… poor Mochizuki. She's so clumsy and innocent. He's probably got her tied up right now. Making her apologize while he's being all rough and sadistic…"

Tachibana leaned forward, smirking slightly.

"Knowing him? He's probably got her bent over that bench. Hands cuffed. Skirt flipped up. Telling her 'This is what you get for being nice to me' while pounding her senseless."

Kurokawa shivered.

"She's gonna cry… She always gets teary when she's overwhelmed. And he's so big… She might not even be able to take it all. He'll probably make her beg while calling her a 'good girl' in that calm voice of his…"

Tachibana nodded seriously.

"By the time he's done with her, she won't be able to walk straight for days. She'll come back to the hospital limping, face flushed, barely able to look us in the eyes…"

Both of them went quiet for a second.

Then Kurokawa whispered:

"…I kinda want to watch."

Tachibana smacked her arm.

"Pervert."

But she didn't deny it.

**Meanwhile, in reality — at the mansion**

Mochizuki was sitting on a comfortable couch in the living room, holding a warm cup of tea Anri had prepared for her.

Anri smiled gently across from her.

"Master is very fond of you, Miss Mochizuki. He specifically said he doesn't want to punish you the same way as the others."

Mochizuki's face was bright red.

"Ehhh?! Personal nurse?! I-I have to live here and take care of Master's… health?!"

Anri nodded calmly.

"Yes. Including his nightly needs. But only if you're comfortable. Master was very clear — you have a choice."

Mochizuki buried her face in her hands.

"This is so embarrassing… But… he really wants me here?"

Anri smiled.

"He does."

Mochizuki peeked through her fingers, flustered but strangely happy.

"I… I need to think about it. But… it doesn't sound terrible…"

Back at the restaurant

Kurokawa was now dramatically lying on the couch.

"She's probably ahegao right now… Yamada's laughing while he breaks her…"

Tachibana threw a pillow at her.

"Stop enjoying this so much!"

But both of them were grinning.

They had no idea how wrong they were.

Meanwhile in a restaurant.

Yamada and Louisa sat at a quiet corner table. Soft lighting. Nice atmosphere. Not too flashy.

Yamada suddenly sneezed.

"That was weird."

Louisa looked at him, a little concerned.

"Is everything okay?"

Yamada rubbed his nose and leaned back in his chair.

"No… I feel like a lot of people are talking about me right now."

Louisa tilted her head, blonde hair falling over one shoulder.

"People? Like who?"

Yamada shrugged.

"No idea. Just a weird feeling."

Meanwhile, back at Tachibana's apartmen

Kurokawa was still lying dramatically on the couch.

"She's probably screaming his name right now… Mochizuki is so done for…"

Tachibana threw another pillow at her.

"Will you shut up?!"

Back at the restaurant.

Yamada picked up his chopsticks again.

"Whatever. Probably nothing."

Louisa smiled and leaned closer.

"Good. Because tonight is just about us."

Yamada looked at her. His expression softened a little.

"Yeah. Just us."

He reached across the table and gently held her hand.

Louisa's cheeks turned pink, but she didn't pull away.

For the rest of the night, the strange feeling faded.

It was just a normal date.

As normal as things got for him these days.

The food arrived. Nice plates. Good portions. Nothing too fancy, just comfortable.

Louisa picked up her chopsticks and looked at Yamada.

"So… you really were rough on me earlier because you were thinking about Saki and that Hayato guy?"

Yamada nodded.

"Yeah. Sorry about that."

Louisa smiled a little.

"It's okay. I liked it. But… I like this more."

She reached across the table and lightly touched his hand.

"This feels more like you. The real you. Not the angry one."

Yamada looked at her. His expression softened.

"I've got a lot going on right now. Saki's staying at the house. Mochizuki is coming over soon. The nurses… the basement…"

Louisa squeezed his hand.

"You don't have to carry everything alone, you know."

Yamada stayed quiet for a moment. Then he gave a small nod.

"I know."

They ate in comfortable silence for a while. Louisa occasionally teased him about his bad piano playing earlier. Yamada shot back about how she moaned too loudly in the music room.

By the time dessert came, both of them were smiling more easily.

After they finished, Yamada paid the bill and they stepped outside.

The night air was cool. Streetlights glowed softly.

Louisa walked close beside him. Their hands brushed.

"So…" she said, looking up at him. "Where to now?"

Yamada glanced at her.

"Anywhere you want."

Louisa thought for a second. Then she grinned.

"Your place. I want to see this famous basement everyone keeps whispering about."

Yamada raised an eyebrow.

"You sure?"

Louisa nodded, cheeks slightly pink.

"Yeah. Just us. No one else."

Yamada smirked.

"Alright."

He sent a quick text to the driver.

They waited on the sidewalk. Louisa leaned against his arm.

For the first time in a while, Yamada felt… light.

No revenge.

No plans.

Just a girl who wanted to spend time with him.

The car arrived.

They got in.

And the night was still young.
