The troll's roar shook the entire hallway.
Students screamed and ran in every direction.
Broken tiles covered the floor.
Blood stained the walls.
And standing in the middle of it all…
Kai Verdan smiled.
"So," he said casually, cracking his neck, "this is what having a system feels like."
The massive Dungeon Troll turned toward him.
Its glowing yellow eyes locked onto their new target.
The creature roared again and lifted its spiked club.
Kai didn't panic.
Instead, a glowing blue screen appeared in front of him.

Kai stared at the screen.
"…Wow."
He looked down at his arms.
"Three strength?"
He sighed.
"I'm basically a skeleton with snacks."
The troll took a step forward.
The floor cracked beneath its weight.
Kai rubbed his chin.
"Alright. Let's see what this skill does."
Skill: Dirty Escape Lv.1
When the host is in mortal danger, gain a short burst of speed to escape.
Cooldown: 30 seconds.
Kai blinked.
"That's it?"
The troll roared again and swung its massive club toward him.
Kai jumped back.
The club smashed the floor, sending debris everywhere.
Students watching from the far end of the hall screamed.
"Verdan is dead!"
Kai dusted off his jacket.
"Relax," he muttered. "I just got the tutorial."
The troll swung again.
Kai triggered the skill.
For a brief moment, his body moved faster than he ever had before.
WHOOSH.
He slid under the troll's arm and rolled across the floor.
The troll blinked in confusion.
Kai stood up behind it.
"Oh."
His eyes widened.
"That actually worked."

Another notification appeared.

Cause chaos during the dungeon breach.

Kai raised an eyebrow.
"Cause chaos?"
He slowly looked around the destroyed hallway.
Students hiding behind pillars.
Teachers running toward the gate.
The troll rampaging through the academy.
Kai grinned.
"Don't mind if I do."
The troll turned again and charged.
Kai dodged to the side using Dirty Escape just before the club slammed down.
The monster roared in frustration.
Kai suddenly noticed something interesting.
The troll's club had smashed a support column.
The ceiling above it cracked.
Kai's grin widened.
"Oh… that's evil."
The First Kill
The troll raised its club again.
Kai ran directly toward it.
Students watching from afar shouted in disbelief.
"Has he gone insane?!"
At the last second, Kai activated Dirty Escape.
His body shot forward like a bullet.
Instead of dodging away…
He slammed into the cracked column.
CRACK.
The pillar shattered.
For a moment, nothing happened.
Then the ceiling collapsed.
BOOM.
Massive chunks of stone crashed down on the troll.
The creature roared as debris buried it under tons of rubble.
Dust filled the entire hallway.
Silence followed.
Then a notification appeared.

Reward: +2 Stat Points
Kai coughed as dust settled.
He brushed rubble off his shoulders.
"Well," he said casually, "that worked better than expected."
Another message appeared.

Kai blinked.
"Indirectly?"
He looked at the pile of rubble crushing the troll.
"Hey, a kill is a kill."
Suddenly…
The rubble shifted.
A massive grey hand burst out of the debris.
The troll was still alive.
Its eyes burned with rage.
Kai froze for a second.
Then he slowly smiled.
"Oh good."
He cracked his knuckles.
"I was hoping this tutorial had a boss fight."
The troll roared and pulled itself from the rubble.
Students watching from the distance whispered in shock.
"Why is the weakest student still alive…?"
Kai stretched his arms.
"Round two," he said.
And somewhere inside the system…
A new message quietly appeared.
