"The former is a secret Base occupied by Alexander Pierce, responsible for HYDRA's political infiltration and external communications."
"The latter is Dr. Zola's database, housing his digital consciousness system."
Hearing this, Captain America and Tony instinctively glanced at each other, feeling a chill of realization.
These two Bases—one was near Washington, and the other was the birthplace of Captain America and S.H.I.E.L.D.
That HYDRA could establish secret Bases in these two locations showed just how deeply they had infiltrated the country!
Especially the name Alexander Pierce.
It made both of them shudder.
This guy was the Secretary General of the World Security Council.
Not only was he the bridge between S.H.I.E.L.D. and Congress, but he even had a say in the United Nations!

His elementalized palm instantly seeped into the missile's electronic system, and a weak electromagnetic pulse locked onto and destroyed the fuse system within milliseconds.
Peter repeated the process, successfully turning all three missiles into duds before they could hit the ground.
The missiles fell heavily to the ground but did not detonate.
