Chapter 167 - Chapter 167: Who is the Real Mistake?

Otto subconsciously activated his mechanical arms to try and stop 2099.

But without the AI's control, he was merely a weakling who had never experienced combat.

And 2099? He was the strongest in the Spider Alliance. Even though he was heavily injured now, he wasn't someone a mere Dr. Otto could mess with!

"Get lost!"

2099 forcibly reset his broken arm. Immediately after, mantis-like arm blades popped out from his gloves, precisely severing all of Doctor Octopus's mechanical arms.

Having finished this, he threw a flying kick, and Dr. Otto's slightly chubby body was instantly sent flying.

"Dr.!"

"Damn it, you bastard! Do you intend to destroy all of New York?!"

Gwen and Felicia couldn't help but cry out in alarm.

They were now completely certain that this guy named Miguel had gone insane!

This guy wanted everyone present, including himself, to be buried along with that bullshit 'Web Event'!

He had to be stopped!

Gwen and Felicia exchanged a glance and unhesitatingly let the Symbiote suits cover their entire bodies.

One white and one blue figure immediately rushed toward 2099.

But 2099 was prepared for this. Before the two could even pick up speed, he roared at the other Spider-Men:

"Stop them! This is the only way to save this Universe!"

Hearing keywords like'save the Universe,' the group of Spider-Men reacted like Pavlov's dogs, instantly developing a conditioned reflex.

Although a small portion of them hesitated, even more subconsciously rushed forward, blocking Gwen and Felicia.

"Get out of the way!"

Felicia grew anxious. Her aqua-blue figure dodged and weaved, her claws repeatedly shredding through layers of webbing.

But she wasn't Peter, after all; she couldn't take down these Spider-Men in a single move.

One slow step led to being slow at every turn.

In the blink of an eye, the two were surrounded by a large crowd of Spider-Men, and they could no longer even see where 2099 was.

"Sorry, ladies, but this is for the greater good."

One Spider-Man said in a heavy voice.

"Greater good my foot!" Gwen was so angry she cursed directly. "Have you all lost your minds? He's about to detonate a nuclear bomb! All of New York will be finished!"

Unfortunately, these Spider-Men had already been brainwashed by Miguel and believed his words implicitly.

"Mr. Miguel wouldn't do that; he knows what he's doing."

"That's right! Mr. Miguel has already helped us control unexpected situations in many Universes. He has extensive field experience."

"What you're imagining will absolutely not happen."

The Spider-Men continued to block Gwen and Felicia while constantly hypnotizing themselves.

Seeing this, Gwen and the others were fuming with rage, yet helpless.

If they weren't in this narrow underground space but in an open environment, they could have fully utilized their speed advantage to intercept from the air.

But right now, the densely packed Spider-Men completely blocked their path to stop 2099. There was no other way except to take them down one by one.

However, this led to a second problem.

Each of these Spider-Men was a hero in their respective Universe.

Although they were currently being deceived by 2099, they still weren't villains who deserved to die.

They simply couldn't bring themselves to use lethal force against these good people.

Yet these people prided themselves on saving the Universe, each possessing a terrifyingly stubborn willpower.

Even though they had been beaten to the point where they couldn't stand, they still desperately tried to hold back Gwen and the others.

As 2099 drew closer and closer to that 'artificial sun,' Felicia's brow furrowed deeply.

Number One and Number Two, who were pinned down by several Spider-Men, anxiously shouted to alert Peter, hoping he could quickly stop that madman.

But Peter... he seemed oblivious to it all, continuing to clear out the reckless Spider-Men!

It's over... Did Old Self not notice that madman 2099?

Just as Number One and Number Two's hearts were about to sink to the bottom, Gwen suddenly spoke up:

"Don't worry, Peter must have a backup plan."

As the person who had been by Peter's side from the very beginning, Gwen knew Peter better than anyone.

Sure enough.

The moment Gwen finished speaking.

Buzz—

A strange spatial ripple abruptly bloomed between Miguel and the 'artificial sun'.

A hexagonal portal opened out of thin air!

Everyone's movements froze at this moment.

Miguel's eyes lit up, thinking that the AI 'Lyla' had temporarily diverted more reinforcements for him.

But in the next second.

A familiar figure in a red and blue suit swung out of the portal on a web. A heavy flying kick landed right in the center of Miguel's chest!

Bang!

Miguel was sent flying by the kick, looking utterly bewildered.

He could only watch as several figures jumped out of the spatial portal and then, with incredibly smooth movements, completely extinguished the 'artificial sun'!

In that instant, it wasn't just the artificial sun that was extinguished, but all the hope in 2099's heart.

"2026, 828, 355, 138... Are you—are you all crazy?!" He couldn't help but roar in fury.

"2026?!"

In stark contrast to the infuriated 2099 were Number One and Number Two Good Neighbor.

Hearing this familiar designation, the two looked at each other, both seeing the intense shock in the other's eyes.

They abruptly broke free from the Spider-Men pinning them down and couldn't help but jump high, trying to see who exactly had stopped 2099.

And then, they were shocked to find that the leader was none other than their very familiar Number Three Good Neighbor!

The Decadent Parker who had decided they were just fooling around and left in a huff after saying, "I'm not part of this!"

And behind him were Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Punk, Spider-Ham, and Peni Parker!

"Do you have any idea what you're doing?"

Miguel, pinned firmly to the ground, looked at these "traitors" who had suddenly appeared before him in disbelief.

"What am I doing?" Number Three Good Neighbor subconsciously glanced at Peter, who had finished his work and returned to his original form, smiling at him. Then, after taking a deep breath, he spoke:

"I've just seen clearly who is right and who is wrong!"

"I just... don't want to be an executioner anymore!"

The moment his voice fell, the Spider-Men present couldn't help but feel a shock in their hearts.

They looked at Peter, who stood proudly in the center with a calm expression, and then at 2099, who had bloodshot eyes and a hysterical appearance, faintly realizing something.

Compared to Peter, who had the power to kill them instantly but had been showing mercy,

It was clearly 2099, who was prepared to detonate the 'artificial sun' and create 'necessary sacrifices,' who looked more like the 'mistake' that desperately needed to be 'corrected'!
