Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Entering the Target Zone

Eden was about to enter the target zone when he was stopped by a man.

"Hey kid, what are you doing here? It is not safe for kids like you," the man said.

Eden knew he didn't have much time, so he just ignored the man and continued walking.

"Kid, did you not hear me?" the man said and thrust his hand forward.

A brown-like smoke appeared on his hand as the earth around Eden began to shake.

Eden's legs got trapped in the stone, which made it difficult for him to move.

The man walked up to him and stood in front of him. With a smirk on his face, he said,

"Now you can listen to me."

"What do you think you are doing, coming to a place like this?"

Eden nearly facepalmed. If he knew he was going to meet a nosy man like this, he would have waited a bit longer before entering the target zone.

Eden thought for a moment before coming up with a good excuse.

"I am here to bring my brother lunch," Eden said.

"Really?, Where is the Food?" the man said, clearly doubtful.

When the man thought Eden wouldn't answer, Eden brought the snacks he had packed before he left his home in his pocket.

"Fine then, you are good to go," the man said and waved his hand, releasing Eden from the stone.

Eden wasted no time and walked into the target zone.

While the man was standing there, a seventeen-year-old boy walked up to him.

"Teacher Ben, do you know that boy?" the boy asked.

"No, it was just a boy I just met," Teacher Ben said.

"Keep an eye on him for me, will you, and help out if he gets into trouble."

The seventeen-year-old boy, didn't know what his teacher was planning, but he still followed the order.

***************

Eden walked deeper into the target zone when he felt like someone was watching him.

With the countless experience he gained in his past life, he could easily tell if he was being followed.

Eden wasted no time and prepared to lose him.

From his past life, he vividly remembered that there were a bunch of undead lurking around in the area. He had to escape them last time.

He immediately turned to his right and headed towards the place where the anti-humans were lurking.

Daniel, the seventeen-year-old boy, had no idea why Eden was turning and didn't want to know. He just followed him. It never crossed his mind that Eden might have realized he was following him.

He may have not been the most stealthy guy, but he was sure he could follow a guy with no life core undetected.

Daniel saw Eden pass through some bushes and followed suit.

As soon as he passed through, he was met with two anti-humans staring at him.

They immediately launched at him, and he was caught in a huge fight.

Eden, after successfully losing Daniel, changed direction and went towards where the beast-level anti-human was.

When he arrived there, he saw a badly injured creature.

Eden brought out the dagger he brought with him and held it in his hands.

At the moment, he needed to get the anti-life core from the beast-level anti-human.

This was not going to be easy. Eden already knew that.

There are five levels of an anti-human:

Human level, Inhuman level, Superhuman level, Mega human level, and Beast level.

The monstrosity that Eden was looking at was a beast-level anti-human, and he had not even activated his anti-core.

Eden carefully walked closer to the anti-human. The anti-human seemed to sense his presence and stared at him.

Eden knew it was time to strike and immediately lunged at the creature.

He seemed to have forgotten the difference between him and a beast-level anti-human. Even though it was badly injured, it was still drastically stronger than him.

He had come earlier than last time. In his past life, when he arrived, it was at the brink of death, so it was easier for him to kill it.

But now it seemed it still had some vitality, as it fearlessly fought back.

Eden, on the back of the anti-human, was thrown away, and it was the turn of the anti-human to attack.

Eden tried to use the dagger he had with him to attack the anti-human, but he was always too slow and ended up getting hit with the claws of the anti-human before he could even land a blow.

It continued like this for about five minutes. It was even a miracle as to how Eden was still alive up until now.

Eden was badly injured and just hanging on at this point.

He was breathing heavily and barely had any strength to fight back.

While Eden was pondering what to do, he heard a scream in the background.

"I think it went over here!" a man screamed.

From the power radiating from him, Eden could tell he was an A-rank who screamed.

Eden was caught of guard by the power radiating from him as usual the higher your rank the better you are at hiding your power but he realized that they were in the middle of a fight and that seemed to explain why they were radiating their power.

And he could also tell that there were two more A-ranks among them and five B-ranks.

Now Eden understood why the beast-level anti-human was so injured.

Normally, three A-ranks wouldn't be enough to fight it. They would need at least five, but they were able to compensate for that with the five B-ranks among them.

Eden was now stuck in a conundrum. Any one of them would be able to beat him, but if he ran now, he might not be able to get the anti-core.

That is when Eden thought of an idea and decided to retreat.

He ran all the way to where he found the anti-human the last time and waited patiently.

He knew that the anti-human would be able to escape, but it would be very weak and at the brink of death when that happened, and he would be able to reap the rewards.

So after a quick thought, Eden dragged his injured body and escaped from there.
