Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: So it Begins!

In the year of One thousand two hundred and thirty-six, a year of endless winter. Where the world is engulfed by evil, and the strong prey on the weak, an era of darkness, a time where monsters such as vampires and werewolves rule the world in shadows.

The Monastery of St. Jude, located on the top of the cliff, next to the black sea, the cliff known as the cliff of death. Inside of the Monastery, the smell of air is the stench of blood.

A man running towards the direction where the Monastery is located. A man named Thomas, Father Thomas, he's a priest, an enemy of the forces that ruled the world at the time. He's a middle aged man, wearing a gray robe, his hair is silk like white, and his eyes have the color of golden brown.

He's the last member of one of the many organizations that fights the army of the night, The Silver Flame. His hand soaking in blood that wasn't his, but his strength is failing him. Behind him, he hears the skittering of claws against the wall, followed by the low guttural growls of those that follow him.

Father Thomas's pursuers are not hunters, but an apex predator of a new world. A hybrid of both Vampire and Werewolf. A new and powerful creature, created to hunt even predators, a creature with a twisted and forced mutation.

A Vampire-wolf, with the combined traits of both creatures in one body, possessing superior strength, speed, and regenerative healing abilities to either parent species. They have the body of a werewolf, with additional long fangs and the wings of a giant bat.

They hunt the members of the same organization as Father Thomas to extinction.

The creatures are here to finish their hunt, to erase the organization of The Silver Flame. But they do not know that the reason why Father Thomas was here, is because of his mission, the last card of the silver flame.

Thomas looks back to check if his pursuers are nearby. "No, not yet," "I can do this, I have to do this" Father Thomas said, his voice heavy and weak. He uses all the force in body and shoves a hidden lever behind the statue inside of the Monastery. The statue of the weeping saint, St. Jude.

Upon shoving the hidden lever, an old technology came to life, with a loud sound of a moving mechanism, a stone slab on the ground opens, revealing a long stairwell that seems to drop to the very center of the earth.

Thomas quickly descended through the stairs, his leather boots echoing against the stone floor of the stairwell. The deeper he goes the more the air around him changes. The air becomes heavy, with a pressure that makes every one of Thomas' teeth ache.

After hours of descending through the stairs, he finally reached the very bottom, the floor is a room full of cobwebs and full of dust that hasn't been cleaned for millennia, as he walked he saw a door made of lead and cold iron, sealed with silver chains that hasn't been touched in thousands of years. There is a room that's imprisoning someone and something old inside it.

"Forgive me, my lord" "For what I'm about to unleash into this world" he said before taking another step. Father Thomas leans against the iron door, his body becoming heavy with each step, his breath getting weak. He then pressed his face to the small key hole on the center of the iron door.

"Are… are you there?" Thomas whispered into the suffocating darkness inside of the prison. His voice was heavy and tired.

The priest waited for an answer, but for a long time there was only silence. As Thomas loses his hope, a sound of a heavy chain that's being dragged over the stone floor going into the direction of the door where Thomas is leaning, the chains echoed throughout the whole floor. Followed by a crushing heavy step of the creature inside. Then the sound of chains stops. Thomas can feel the person on the other side of the door, leaning on it, Thomas then looks at the keyhole once more, he sees a pair of eyes snap open that look directly into his soul. The eyes are void black, ancient and filled with a cold, predatory intelligence that makes Father Thomas's soul shiver.

"And who might you be?" The person spoke to Thomas, with a noble sound, and a vibration so dense that it shook Thomas bones. "Why have you come here? What is it that you want?"

The hair around Thomas's body stood up, his body stiffened, and shook with just the sheer pressure of the voice from the one of his imprisoned. He dare not to move any muscles in his body for even a tiny mistake can end his life in an instant.

"There was no time to be scared now," Thomas thinks to himself, losing each and every second that he had left on him. He straightens his back and moves his shoulder up, while calming himself up. He builds up his courage to speak.

"I am the last member of The Order of The Silver Flame, one of those that fights the darkness." Thomas answered to the person on the other side of the door, his voice showing a slight tremble, as his hand shaking.

"And we're losing."

"This world is overrun by creatures in the dark that prey on the weak. On humans."

The pair of eyes narrowed and looked at him with interest.

"And you come to me?" It said and smirks at Thomas.

"Have you forgotten why your ancestors imprisoned me?" "buried me?" it said with a loud sound that shook the pillar of the underground floor.

"I have not forgotten," Thomas said with a calm and weary tone. As he slowly pulls a silver vial, and a rusted iron key from the pocket of his robe.

"But the world that we knew before was gone, it was their world now, and we simply lived on it."

"This world is full and overrun by evil, and the only way for us to destroy this evil is by unleashing a stronger one."

Then a cruel and dry chuckle erupted, followed by a loud and sickening laugh.

"You must be desperate, to free me is to destroy this world completely"

"Can you take the consequences of what you are about to do?"

"You're a fool to even think that I'll help you get rid of the evil that resides in this world that I helped to ruin."

"Perhaps I am a fool, but I know your story. You will help us, I assure you. Whether you want it or not." Thomas replied with a big and proud smile on his face.

The person on the other side of the door growled. "I despise that look on your face."

"But how can you be sure?"

"As I've said, I know your story. I know what you did for your brother."

The creature then slammed the door with a reckoning force that it shook the entire wall of the prison.

"Dont say that name, you don't know me, you don't know what I did, so don't you dare act like do."

But before Father Thomas can reply to the creature. The stone door at the top of the stairs bursts open.

The hybrids are already closing in, they finally caught up to Father Thomas. Two of them, hulking gray skinned monstrosities, followed the smell of blood of Father Thomas, and located him underground. They quickly sprinted down the stairs with unnatural speed, already near the floor below. Their eyes light with yellow and red, that fixed on the throat of their prey.

Without further ado, Father Thomas quickly jammed the rusted iron key into the lock. With all of his remaining strength and effort, he turned the key to the left. The big lead door cracked open, followed by a sound that had never been heard for millennia.

The ancient magic that seals the one from within, slowly breaks one after another as the door opens. The. A sound of heavy crack echoed throughout the building like a thunderbolt. "Clung"

As one of the Vampire-wolf growls and leaps through the air with its claws extended like daggers, pointing at the neck of the priest and ready to end his life with one swift move. The pressure in the air suddenly shifted with a heavy, ominous change.

Before the hybrid could reach the priest, a hand, pale and thin as a skeleton's, grabbed its head while it's on mid air. The owner of the hand moves with the speed of lightning that no one in the room sees it. It came out from the opening door of the prison.

Then the creature uses a tiny force of his power. The head of the monster cracked and destroyed in a single move, it was crushed like a ripe melon, and exploded from the hand of the one who did the deed.

The hybrid never managed to reach Thomas's throat. It doesn't even have time to react before it dies, as it collapses and the lifeless body of it falls to the ground, showing no motion and straggle.

The second hybrid quickly slid back and halted, its confidence for its power vanishing instantly. It let out a whimper, sensing the powerful aura of the thing that just stepped out of its cell.
