Elain's eyes were filled with horror and anger, the realization striking her that Rafelius could have been watching her longer than she had noticed.
"You wound me, looking at me like I'm a creep," he mused. "Don't fret. I just arrived, and I didn't see anything inappropriate. I don't fancy watching girls undress like a peeping tom, you know."
She hastily tied the ribbon at her back, not minding if the knot wasn't properly done, still glaring at the man across the room.
What kind of person was he, sneaking into a room so stealthily like that? She had never met someone so skilled in stealth, as if he could slip through doors like he could turn himself into something intangible.
"Why are you here?" she asked, her tone as polite as she could muster after he had spooked her like that.
Though the earlier sharpness had dulled, her slightly narrowed eyes gave away her annoyance.
He didn't seem to like it.
