Aimee gone to her room. Turning on the little moon lamp beside her bed. It brought warm light that passed through the small window near to it. Her room was small with a bed against the wall and enough space to walk through. It wasn't big yet looked cozy and to Aimee this is where she finds her comfort for years.
Twelve years have passed since the incident that killed her parents happened. Six year-old Aimee with her parents got into a car accident while driving on the coastal road of Cromwell where she and her family had lived. She was the only one who survived. Aimee barely remember what happened that night as the memories of the tragedy had turned faded and obscured by time that continued to pass and only the faint pain of losing remains. Since then, she was taken in custody by her Uncle Tom.
Now, she's living with her uncle's family in a small village of Windell. Windell as well as Cromwell is part of the massive land of Grimvale. Unlike in Cromwell where it was near the coast, Windell is an urban absorbed village.
Her Uncle is more accepting and compassionate than his wife who turned somewhat hostile. Still she's thankful that they took her in and feed her.
Going to the cupboard Aimee pulled some clothes and went to her bathroom.
Stepping out of the bathroom. She had decided to stay in her room and not join her aunt and cousin for lunch as she still feel ashamed of what happened in the kitchen. When she likely perceived that they have gone to their rooms. Amiee went downstairs to fold her cousins clothes. Once done she get back to her room and slumped herself to the bed.
She was scrolling through her phone when her phone rang.
It's Connie. A sudden jolt of happiness passed through her face.
"Hey there my ever damsel bestfrienddd!" chimed from the other line.
"Hi there birdie, where are you flying to now huh?" Aimee jested back.
"hahhaha, i just got back! so have you decided to come with me tomorrow? Pweaseeeee." Oh crap, Aimee thought as she forgot that her friend has been eagerly asking her to go with her to this club. "I know you dont like such places Aimee but please just this one owright? an angel told me my crushie will go to the same place tomorrow nighty."
Connie was the daughter of a ranked minister in the Kingdom who often travels for work. She met her when Connie and her family moved to Windell where Connie was forced to study in the same public school as hers as there were no elite schools in the place or nearby. She was the friend she never thought she needed and would ever have because apart from looks, their status was much far from each other. Even though Connie being an elite she was raised to be humble, must be because of the different places their family had been to and from which made her witness different life and people. Both have grown to be not outgoing but since the time her friend got lovestruck by this guy Daniel she seemed enamored that she even knows his whereabouts as of the moment.
Aimee smiled. " Okay fineee. but will it be okay if we go after I'm done with all the chores?"
"Okay okay, lets have a good time Aimeee. Next week it will be just ourselves and books again, dang!" her friend cheered.
To Aimee reading books were good times, just laying on the bed with the cozy night and a hot Choco. The thought made her pull the quilt tighter around her.
Aimee and Connie spent time catching up and talking more about random things.
