When the morning sun was about to break over the horizon, Shawn had arrived at the train station after he took an Uber. There were quite a number of people at the station at that time, mostly in winter attire, since the weather was pretty cold during that time of the year.
The train he took home was departing shortly, and there was barely anyone else inside of it as the time passed by.
However, he didn't have any care in the world; instead, he just focused on what he was going to do during this break.
In addition to meeting up with his family again after such a long time, it was also a chance to help around his family business and do whatever he could to assist.
However, before he could do that, Shawn was interrupted by a sound.
Ding!
A soft chime sounded, followed by a blue notification window that appeared out of thin air before Shawn.
'Huh?' Shawn raised an eyebrow in curiosity after he noticed this blue panel floating in front of his eyes. 'What the hell is going on? Where did that come from? Am I imagining things? Wait! Don't tell me I've been affected by stress!'
Despite this thought in his mind, the panel was still there, and it was still as vivid as before.
[ System Initialization... Success! ]
[ Assessing Host's Living Situation... ]
After a few moments of waiting, the system panel then showed him:
[ System Notice: Based on the host's living situation, the System is designed to help you live a better life. ]
[ Daily Intelligence System Initialization! ]
After reading the contents, Shawn didn't know if he should laugh or cry because it sounded absurd.
However, his doubt was washed away after reading the words "vivid" and "detailed." He didn't know if that was a coincidence or not, but that was exactly what he was going to say right now about this System.
But Shawn didn't dwell on that matter anymore. As there seemed to be more information inside the blue notification.
He immediately continued to read.
[ This is the Daily Intelligence System, here to make your life a better one with daily intelligence that will help you achieve greater things! ]
[ The daily intelligence will be different every day. However, the host can unlock higher-level intelligence as well with the real money. ]
Upon reading those words, Shawn almost couldn't believe what he was seeing. 'Wait... it isn't a scam... is it?'
It was just too absurd and surreal that it just didn't make sense for him. Shawn looked left and right to see if there was anybody else on the train seeing this crazy stuff. However, no matter how long he looked, there didn't seem to be anyone else seeing those notifications.
'What the fuck is going on here?' Shawn muttered to himself. He then sighed after contemplating for a while. He was feeling perplexed by this situation, but there was also a desire in his heart to test what this "System" has to offer to him. After all, it promised to help him in a "better living" way. He had no other choice but to give it a try.
Thus, after a deep breath, Shawn asked the system in his head, 'What intelligence will the system offer me today?'
[ Today's Daily Intelligence: After getting off the train, head to the parking lot; there will be a red car there parked for three months. The owner was arrested by the police, and no one bothered to care about the car. Inside the unlocked car trunk you will find $10,000 hidden in the corner, which was stolen by the owner of the car. You are free to take them if you want! ]
After reading the contents, Shawn was so shocked that his hands trembled in excitement. There was an immense greed in his eyes as he imagined the scenario where he would find the red car and claim the money that was hidden there.
'Fuck...! Holy shit! Ten thousand dollars?' Shawn yelled in excitement in his mind. He didn't expect to find anything like this when he was about to check out this System. 'It doesn't seem like bullshit. I need to go check it out as soon as possible.'
Although that amount of money would be like pocket change for him in the past, times had changed, and money was something very important.
There was only a certain amount of his saved-up money that could last for two or three months at best, and with his family's business struggling at the moment, he couldn't ask for more from his parents. So, if he found ten thousand dollars at that moment, his financial difficulties would be eased a lot.
Soon, Shawn arrived at his destination and got off the train. Then he followed the instructions on the system panel as he went to the parking lot. There were a lot of cars in that place, so it took him some time to find a red car, which the system told him.
"There! It's here!" Shawn's eyes lit up in excitement after he saw a red car in the distance. That car was pretty dusty. As if it hasn't been driven for a while.
Upon seeing this, Shawn was convinced that he was on the right track. There was a hidden excitement in his heart. 'Let's see what you got here. Ohhh... Ten thousand dollars... Here I come.'
With his heart thumping, Shawn made his way towards the car.
He walked up to it, looked around, and then walked to the car trunk and tried to open it. Much to his surprise, it was indeed unlocked as it slowly opened upwards.
Then, with a hand slightly shaking in anticipation, Shawn reached into the dark space. He was afraid that his expectation might turn out to be nothing in the end. Thus, he had to see for himself what was there to offer.
However, much to his delight, Shawn felt something soft and plastic. Upon pulling it up and seeing what it was, a gleeful smile immediately formed on his face.
It was a plastic bag. Upon checking, there were bundles of crisp new green-colored money wrapped inside it, and when he was done counting the money, he let out a whistle. There was $10,000 cash! Just as the system had told him.
"This is... $10,000! Huhhhh! I still can't believe it!" Shawn grinned in happiness. "Thank you! This System really does work!"
After saying this, Shawn quickly took the bag, hid it in his backpack, and closed the car trunk. Then, after he confirmed that no one saw him in that place, he walked away while carrying a bag with a smile on his face.
'Damn... I have never felt so happy in my life! Now, I wonder what other intelligence it can offer to me.' Shawn pondered with an excited smile on his face. 'If I can get more intelligence like this one... This can really solve all financial problems in life. Haha!'
It was just a small step forward, and yet that was enough to excite Shawn's imagination. The potential was limitless as he pondered what this system could do for him.
