Mason walked toward the head of the long mahogany table, and his footsteps echoed against the polished hardwood floor. He did not raise his voice, nor did he show any anger, as he stopped directly beside his uncle.
"The meeting has not started yet, because the current Chief Executive Officer just walked into the room," Mason said in a calm, flat tone. "You need to vacate my chair, Thomas."
Thomas looked up at Mason for a few heavy seconds. The older man grabbed his wooden walking cane and stood up from the leather seat. He walked over to an empty chair on the right side of the table and sat down without arguing.
